Farmers Fishers BakersGood foodI'm a fan of this and Founding Farmers. Good food, not too large or overpriced. My only complaint is that twice now, we show up before our reservation and people walk in without reservations and are seated before us. This makes little sense to me.. and the servers are a bit snooty when you ask about it. If it keeps happening, it's enough for me to not want to go back despite the food.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFun, fresh, and innovative!I went here for a friend's birthday dinner and loved it!! Amazingly fresh ingredients in classic dishes with a twist. I had the ahi poke salad which was to die for. Prices were very fitting. I'll certainly be coming back!!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSplendidly SpectacularWow. Food was amazing. Selection of types and choices of cocktails and beers were amazing. The food was just wow. Wish I had opportunity to order additional dishes. They all looked great.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Spot!Had never been before.... I could go into extravagant foodie detail, but the short version is, all the food tasted awesome. The house-made Mule mixed drink I got was excellent as well.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFun and Delicious! The white fish crudo with okra and ponzu sauce is so unexpected and amazing!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day Brunch- YummyWe were delighted with the scrumpous brunch offerings at Farmers Fishers Bakers. There were diverse offerings, allowing those choosing healthy options to enjoy the food as much as those of us indulging for the day. Having servers circulate with delightful nibbles was both fun and surprising. Service was attentive without hovering. Overall a lovely location and great family gathering place!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch was amazingThe restaurant exceeded any expectation I had. The food was amazing. We went for Mother's Day brunch. They had a variety of foods from tacos to French toast to all kinds of desserts. They also had different kinds of sushi being passed around by servers. The sushi was very fresh, real crab was used in the California roll. Very impressive. My dad had the bottomless make your own bloody marys, said it was one of the best he had and that's saying a lot from him considering he's had multiple bloody marys in his time. Overall the experience was great, the food was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Reservations recommended.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI will be backI visited FFB for the first time this past Saturday and it was the best restaurant experience I ever had. The food was delicious and the honey fried chicken made me want to slap my momma. I will be back for brunch ASAP5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Fresh FareWe were a party of five looking for a good place for an early dinner after a matinee show at the Kennedy Center. We landed on this given its proximity. The restaurant is new and the decor very nice and in keeping with their theme, plus there are good views of the waterfront. However, the really great part about our experience was the food - everything was really FRESH, which of course makes all the difference. The prices were very reasonable as well. I would highly recommend this place and will be coming back again soon!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicousLoved out time here. We sat at the bar and the bar manager gave some great recommendations! Overall very satisfied and will keep coming back.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGood restaurantVery good food, though they were out of the pretzel bread which we really wanted to try. Had the fried chicken, which was fantastic and is highly recommended. Tacos were also delicious. Had a server who had just been hired so he was struggling a little bit, but another server made sure we were taken care of.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, mostlyFarmers, Fishers, Bakers boasts an extensive menu of genuinely impressive food. We went as a group of four to celebrate a special occasion and although it was expensive, all of the food was extremely enjoyable and we had a good experience. All of us were pleased (except with the fact that the appetizer we wanted wasn't available, although our waiter did let us know at the end of our meal that they had more available for us to take home), especially with the heavenly beignets. Only downside was the truly ridiculous noise level. The décor of the place is incredible though. All in all, I'd go back for a special occasion.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and atmosphereWe went here for a work celebration and the food and atmosphere were great. The service was great and the waiter made some great recommendations for our food and drinks as our whole group were from out of town.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Brunch LocaleI loved this brunch experience. Food choices were plentiful and surprising. It was a perfect place to celebrate my birthday. All of my friends raved about the food, bottomless bloody marys and the service. This place is a keeper.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Dinner!Fantastic dinner starting with a salad and selecting the Ahi Tuna dinner based on server recommendation. The ahi tuna was perfectly seared served with an excellent bean and tomato salad, just refreshing and delish! Splurged and ordered the Smith Island Cake in hot chocolate, oh so good! Everything I had was fantastic, love the location on the waterfront! Will be back soon!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Brunch EverI can truly say my meal was the best brunch I've ever had. The food was all top-notch quality, from tacos with homemade corn cakes and super fresh guacomole to sizzling (heated while you spoon it out) artichoke crab dip to thick, perfectly grilled french toast with fresh berries and/or a bananas foster sauce....and to top it all off, the biscuits and cinnamon rolls that they passed were incredible. Can't recommend it enough.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome! But it's been twoAwesome! But it's been two days and I'm still full, so be warned: you will eat your money's worth.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch at Farmers Fishers BakersI made what I thought were lunch reservations but when my wife and I arrived, we found out the restaurant was serving their weekend brunch. It was not what we were expected but we still had a wonderful dining experience. Brunch ended up costing about the same as lunch would but we got to try many more items in the server-yourself brunch set up.
The service staff was a little less attentive during brunch than past experiences at FFB. I saw service staff with tableside items that were not available at the brunch tables but they rarely stopped at my table.
Service aside, I had a great brunch experience at Farmers Fishers Bakers5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMJust fabulous! They have a huge menu which usually indicates mediocre food. But in this case everything we had was very interesting (not ordinary or mediocre at all) and it was all fabulous. And the service and ambience are also exceptional. I'm sure this will become one od DC's hotspots - especially for the summer.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWish I lived closerCreative, extensive, and well-executed menu, friendly and knowledgeable staff, great bartender...can't think of a single thing I would change. This is what a big riverfront restaurant should be.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI asked for Pimm's Cup inI asked for Pimm's Cup in today's brunch bowl; however, I asked our server to bring the bowl without straws and to laddle or pour the drink into glasses or cups. The server was not able to comply with this request. Our party was not comfortable drinking from the bowl through straws.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat time!Excellent food - my two companions thoroughly enjoyed their meals and will definitely visit the restaurant again.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAppreciate the fresh wellAppreciate the fresh well prepared food and good service4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI attended this restaurantI attended this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon (a 1PM reservation) for brunch. The place is confortable, family friendly and spacious for groups (there were 5 of us at a table). The food was fresh, varied and generally excellent. Though pricey ($30/person without taxes or gratuity), the general experience is worth it for special occasions4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was quite loud, but theIt was quite loud, but the food was delicious. We made the mistake of coming over a marathon weekend, so unfortunately we didn't get to eat "on the water" because there was a huge marathon tent blocking the view, but it was still a nice time. Reasonably priced too.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waitress, Mary, was veryOur waitress, Mary, was very nice and knowledgable regarding food allergies that I have!!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWould've given 5 stars, butWould've given 5 stars, but steak wasn't quite as unique and outstanding as other things I've come to expect from this restaurant. Still a great experience though and I look forward to coming back another time!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent, however,The food was excellent, however, the noise level was very loud, you could not hear your conversations.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous after the SymphonyThe menu was expansive but everything was tasty and well done. We ordered a selection from sushi, mini burgers, wings, and a salad and it was all delicious. Plus the banana pudding trifle, perfection to end out the meal. It was the perfect place to grab a later dinner after the symphony. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation and they were able to accommodate us.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSpicy Sausage Provencal MusselsSpicy Sausage Provencal Mussels were outstanding ... with extra grilled bread quickly supplied for additional sopping up of the broth, it was a great way to linger through a delicious and not very expensive meal.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot, great food & fab drinksGreat spot, great food - and fabulous drinks (especially non-alcoholic rickeys and phosphates). A little load out in the open, but quieter booths and banquettes help to alleviate the noise4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful experience. We had a wonderful experience. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. When we return to DC, we will dine there again.
Tim Jones4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best brunches IOne of the best brunches I have ever had! Incredible selection of fresh, seasonal food.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch is fantastic there,Brunch is fantastic there, especially if you like a lot of sweet and savory items. The unlimited bloody Mary's are amazing. One thing I would caution is if you're a vegetarian or only eat fish, you don't have a ton of options at the brunch beyond the salads, fruit, omelette bar and French toast. It would have been great if some of the tacos were vegetables or fish.
I loved that servers walked around with pizza, biscuits and eggs Florentine; it was a nice touch that kept the food coming.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWatch out for Sunday brunch!$$$It needs to be explicitly stated that Sunday brunch is $30 per person. It was a total surprise to me and my friends. However the food was amazing. I highly recommend FFB for any other day of the week-- the prices are far more reasonable.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe weekend brunch buffetThe weekend brunch buffet is an incredible deal! So much delicious food for a reasonable price. Plan on a leisurely brunch so you can try a little bit of everything!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy! My sister took me out here once, but I had to return for another visit because it was such a nice experience.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMPace YourselfFirst and foremost, I go to Farmers Fishers Bakers and Founding Farmers regularly for their uncompromising use of the best ingredients in every dish and beverage they serve. The brunch buffet (Saturdays and Sundays) is the best I've ever seen, especially when you factor in the price. Perhaps not in variety, but certainly in terms of quality, I'd argue that FFB's brunch buffet has that of the Waldorf Astoria in New York City beat, and at a third of the cost. If you've never been to this brunch buffet, treat yourself. You won't regret it. Just make sure you leave room for the biscuits and other treats that are served at your table and aren't available at the buffet. Just remember: pace yourself. It's easy to get carried away.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe place to be for brunch. The place to be for brunch. Excellent organic made from scratch food that truly melts in your mouth. A must for the price and the ambiance.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMJust Go. Now.This is now a regular stop when I'm in DC for a few days - their brunch is the best I've ever had. I mean, what else is there to say? My server was a little awkward & quiet this last visit, but other than that it was perfection. Mmmm mmm mmmmmmmm.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is one ofThis restaurant is one of my favorites here in Georgetown. It includes a wide variety of food, but is able to do so successfully. The dishes range from a sushi bar to jambalaya to pizza favorites and each one tastes as good as the next. I highly recommend the Georgetown honey fig pizza! It may be the best entree although the floating chocolate cake topped off the whole meal. Overall a great experience and I cannot wait to go back.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMust go to spotPerfect spot if you are going with a group because the menu is huge and offers anything from sushi to steak to pizza. No matter your price range you will find something for everyone. My friend and I shared every dish from appetizers to dessert. The decor is very cool and is a fun place to take anyone visiting DC.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food with a fresh,Excellent food with a fresh, natural focus. Although a loud and busy feel was evident, it is easy to hear your dining partners.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good, not excellentHow was Farmers, Fishers, Bakers? It's tough thing to answer. FFB is good -- very good. But it's not...special. Or excellent. We definitely enjoyed everything we ate, but everything just felt like it was missing something. The food is solid, prepared with care and prepared well, but I wouldn't say this is a foodie haven. I was really surprised to see how many pizzas were going around the dining room.
Dessert was really, really, really good, though. And the meal was just fine. I don't feel like I wasted money or time, but I just wanted a little something more.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy family and I had a greatMy family and I had a great time and wonderful meal at Farmers Fishers Bakers. Will definitely go back on our next visit to DC.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly Recommended!Food was terrific. The concept for the restaurant is unique and makes it stand out from the crowd. Amazing service. Nothing but good things to say!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMVegan ReviewAs a vegan it is always nice to have multiple options at a restaurant. I had the guacamole and the pretzels to start(both shared with the table) and the "bacon burger" as a main. The pretzels were absolutely the star of the meal! The guacamole was delicious - fresh avocado, onions, lime, and salt (they also have extra cheeses and stuff on the side for non-vegans). The "bacon burger" was more of a sloppy joe. It was a rice and bean patty with two strips of seitan on it. It was actually a little on the bland side so I put some hot sauce on it.
Over all a delicious meal and great experience. The servers were friendly and prompt.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSit at the bar if you wantSit at the bar if you want great service! Food and drinks are excellent. Don't expect good service unless you go to the bar.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMTIKI TIMEthe transformation of Farmers, Fishers and Bakers after the floor is amazing! The sushi is supprisingly great! The revival of TIKI drinks is a gem, we let Dylan the bartender create cocktails and each one out did the previous.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, Slow Kitchen productionMeal delivery to the table was interminably slow. The food is great, but the kitchen needs a serious speed boost!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
