My husband and I showed up to
celebrate his birthday at one of our Bloomington favorites, but right after we ordered appetizers, he got deathly ill. The staff handled it so graciously. The pastry chef presented the beautiful and delicious birthday cake we had ordered all boxed up for us to take home and the waitress rushed a to-go order for me to eat later (which also was delicious). We will definitely be back to celebrate properly."

Reservations allowed us to walk
past dozens waiting for a delightful brunch. We had cocktail specials, great entrees and a fantastic dessert. Very reasonable, funky farm house decor, great server, and lots of young people having a great time. Can't beat it. We will be back."

This is probably Bloomington's
best all-around restaurant. That's saying a lot, because there's plenty of competition! You'll never be disappointed in the food, the service is great, and Chef Orr will always have a surprise."

Farm is one of our favorite
places. We eat there almost every time we are in Bloomington. The food is always excellent and we like the aesthetic. We have absolutely no complaints about the food or drinks. However, our server was aloof and inattentive. She acted as if she were annoyed to even take our order, let alone bring us drinks, check back on us, etc. Despite this, we had an enjoyable time with amazing food. I had the fun-guy po boy and my husband had the chicken and jalepeno-cornbread waffles special, which he could not stop talking about the rest of the night."

Asked for cheddar to replace goat
cheese in my omelet. Was told he would try but the chef doesn't like substitutions unless you are allergic. NOT cool. Traditional bread pudding extremely dry. Our table was way too close to those on either side. Could hear every word of strangers conversations. To be fair they were preparing for a crowd for Valentine's dinner and we were there for lunch. Garlic fries very good. Atmosphere charming."

Delicious food, dessert and
service. Excellent drinks!! Charming ambiance. Good price for value. Farm to table ingredients. Everybody loved their entree."

I reserved a table ahead of time
and got in right away. Our server was very nice and efficient! I ordered the pork and my date ordered the chicken and both were FANTASTIC! So many great choices on the menu that you can't go wrong with any of them! I love FARM and would highly recommend to anyone. It's truly a local gem because it showcases food grown locally! Definitely will be going again."

We had reservations and were
seated as soon as we arrived. Our server Josh was great, he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We enjoyed it!!"
Dined on 2/8/2014
We had a moderate experience. Food
was OK, but our waitress was not good. She messed up our payment and misled us that it would be resolved. Took 6 days of follow-up before we received the correction. Would only recommend if you are going for a basic meal and paying cash."
Dined on 2/1/2014
Simply prepared food but very
good. Truffle fries with aioli were quite good. Organic, local food with good service. We were there for lunch, but Cocktail and dinner menu looks great as well."
Dined on 2/1/2014
Farmfamous garlic fries are one of
the tastiest creations I've ever eaten! Risotto and pizza were delicious choices as well. Drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. Our server was great and even brought us an extra sample of some delicious pasta salad. Made for a great Friday night date night!"

Food was good but too expensive.
$19 for 1 large plate of winter veggies?"

Very good experience at The Farm.
Service was superb. Able to nicely accommodate Gluten Free spouse. Only issue was with Open Table. Went on-line to make reservation ... and only had 5:30 or 7:15 available. Almost gave up and went elsewhere ... but called restaurant and leaned they had other preferred times available. Glad we called. Excellent restaurant. Maybe not every week ... but certainly a spot to visit regularly."
Dined on 1/17/2014
Several of the items on the menu
were not available since they were "changing menus" but we weren't told this until after we'd ordered. Two of the entrees were really salty which is unusual for FARM. Just not one of our best experiences."
Dined on 1/11/2014
The folks at Farm Restaurant
continually impress us with their stout attention to our needs, their knowledge of what pairs together with other foods and how to keep us happy while in their space. We always desire to go to farm for their daily unique menu items, their delicious garlic fries and their always fresh and inviting atmosphere. It's a great place for all and I recommend for folks to try!"

As one of us is a vegetarian, it's
so nice to find a restaurant with excellent vegetarian choices! Everything was delicious and the service was perfect! We will definitely return to FARM!"
Dined on 1/3/2014
This is an excellent restaurant
with a first rate chef who uses as many local, fresh ingredients as possible. One of Bloomington's best."
Dined on 12/31/2013
I visit family in Bloomington 2-3
times a year and the trip is not complete without dining at The Farm! Their French Christmas dinner was most excellent. Always fresh, as is with any locally sourcing restaurants, but the flavor combinations are really something special. I would hold Chef Orr's kitchen against any I've tried anywhere!"
Dined on 12/27/2013
When the Farm has one of its
special dinners it is usually excellent. This French Culinary dinner was a fine example of what can be done. On the other hand, I have not been so impressed by the food from the regular menu."
Dined on 12/27/2013
Prices on the high end for B-town,
but it IS a locally-grown restaurant, so expect that. Salmon was outstanding, presentation beautiful. Steak a bit lacking in flavor, but very tender. Cozy atmosphere. A lovely special occasion dinner in a cozy, laid-back restaurant. I will be back!"
Dined on 12/17/2013
The food was delicious - but it
took over an hour. Very slow service! Will definitely keep that in mind next time."
Dined on 12/13/2013
One of the very best in a town
with a lot of great restaurants. Service excellent and a consistently top notch, innovative menu. Also, the underground "Root Cellar" bar featured a great bartender (Best Moscow Mule I've ever had). Highly recommended."
Dined on 12/6/2013
Had not visited here for two years
(last time my football team was in town playing IU), but the four of us had come before and enjoyed it, so we came again. Although a couple people in the party were not completely thrilled with their choices (more their likes vs. a problem with the food), my husband and I enjoyed the pork chop....very good! Someday we must come for breakfast....looks like a place that would have some yummy choices! I like the variety and the unusual pairings....will go back"
Dined on 11/30/2013
Went there for a date, food was
pretty good. Got seated right next to a very loud business group that made it hard to listen to my date talk. Overall not bad but I think there are better options in bloomington if you are going out on a date and want somewhere that doesn't break the bank and makes it hard to hear your date."
Dined on 11/20/2013
This was our first visit to FARM
and all I can say is WOW! Our waitress recommended that we try one of their giant cinnamon rolls to start. Y-U-M!!! Our breakfast/brunch was amazing! This place is a foodie's dream! Everything is homemade with farm fresh ingredients...even their jellies and hot sauces are made in house! I had one of their specials that had a sampling of items. It had 2 eggs any way you wanted them cooked, two slices of thick-cut, smoked, peppery bacon, delicious home fries with crunchy brown bits, roasted peppers and scallions, and the most unique sweet and savory french toast rolled in Fall spices and toasted coconut with caramel sauce, cooked apples, and citrus creme fraiche on top. We will definitely be back!"

This meal had ups and downs. When
the 3 of us arrived, we were first seated at a table in the back room right next to a table where there was going to be a party of 20-25 people arriving soon. We asked to be reseated somewhere else so we could hear each other. Although indignant, she did reluctantly reseat us in the front room. Our waiter (Trent) was absolutely awesome. Helpful suggestions, great service, just a terrifically friendly person. The garlic fries were unbelievable - everyone should have to try them. My bison steak was perfect. My daughter's Lugar burger was "the best she's ever had." The one drawback was that my wife's salmon was way way too salty (really way too salty). All in all, it was good but not great."
Dined on 11/9/2013
We love FARMbloomingting. Been
there numerous times. The garlic fries are worth the visit. Our waiter wasn't great however. Our food took forever and we saw people who came in after getting food before we did, hate that. We are thinking either he or the kitchen screwed up the order in any case it wasnt our best visit. A pizza came with goat cheese rather than the ricotta as per the menu description. Burger was a bit cold and dry. Brisket specials were delish. Salmon very good albeit a bit too salty/soyish. Mixed bag.We will go back but willl hope for a better waiter next time."

Ate there before attending at
event at IU. Great menu, lots of interesting dishes. Ordered several of their smaller items off their seasonal menu (to share with another person) and liked them all...each was a little different than anything I had had before. Delicious. Great ambience. Would definitely go again."
Dined on 11/7/2013
Dishes are poorly conceived and
inconsistent. Meats are overcooked and very dry. All priced way too high for quality. A shame, really, because both decor and staff are quite good."
Dined on 11/5/2013
First visit but we will be back.
On prior tries I did not make early reservations."
Dined on 11/3/2013
Fresh delicious food with a unique
touch. Their tortilla soup and glam omelet where excellent. Cute restaurant, only complaint was service was slow and even w a reservation we waited 20 minutes."
Dined on 11/2/2013
It was our first visit to Farm. We
were hoping there would be more vegetarian dishes to pick from. Seems that most all the entrees had meat. Even a dish with fish would of been nice. Our server recommend the flatbread with chicken in the woods. It was fantastic and saved our dining experience."
Dined on 10/31/2013
FARM took many ordinary dishes and
really took it to a new level. I had the falafel and it was fantastic, paired up with fresh vegetables, feta, herbs, and slaw. Plus if you love garlic, this is for you. The person I was with had a pizza, and it had a yummy, crispy crust and fresh toppings. I definitely recommend this restaurant."
Dined on 10/26/2013
We had to wait for out table--not
big deal, but waiting area is right by where the wait staff frequent--in and out. Oblivious to the waiting customers, they complained to one another about their tables. Faces were sour and general disposition seemed stand offish. It took 21 minutes between the drink order and the arrival of the drinks (three draft beers and a sprite). Expensive filet ordered medium was brought out bleeding. Was returned and brought back apparently microwaved, no new plate or presentation. In all fairness, the catfish was the best ever tasted--perfectly cooked, not over-fried or over breaded. That dish (Friday night fish) was the best at the table. The shrimp tacos were yummy. The other dishes were just okay."

Great booth, great food (although
portions could have been a little larger!) I had the veggie plate which was outstanding, hubby had the bison steak, which he loved. The chef brought us a pre-appetizer, which was lovely and very thoughtful. Had a bite of my friend's pizza, which was wonderful. The food was well-seasoned and very tasty. The ambiance was charming. Will definitely return when back in town."

We went for Sunday brunch with a
group of 8 including 3 kids. We weren't given the specials menu or kids menu. (And since we hadn't been before, we didn't know either existed.) I ordered a burger for my kids to share thinking it would be the burger off the main menu. But when it came it was a kids burger--much too small to share. So we were then told "oops--someone should have given you kids menus..." We had to order another one. By the time it came, all the adults were finished. Likewise, we ordered the French toast on the regular menu for a 5 year old, and it was much too "weird" for him! In his defense, it was bread pudding--not French toast. And again, if we had known there was a kids menu, we would have ordered him something from it."

Fresh, local ingredients and
unique, flavor-popping, delicious dishes, Bloomington's got nothing else like it. They deliver what they promise. Even though I'm a foodie that moved here from LA where there's just no end to innovative, cutting-edge chefery (and I partook of it as much as humanly possible), I whole heartedly give Farm five stars for quality, creativity, and of course FLAVOR. Love the combinations they come up with. The decor has a local feel, which I appreciate. Longish wait after ordering, but worth the wait. Also they subscribe to OpenTable, for me a plus. I call it feel-good eating because Farm is transparent about what goes into their dishes and where it comes from. They pretty much shop where I shop. Works for me."
Dined on 10/15/2013
Farm offers a wonderful menu with
fresh, delicious choices. The kitchen is open so you can see all of the fresh herbs that are used for your food hanging up there above the chef. There are plenty of food choices so it is fun to share so you can try more than one. You can taste the difference in their entrees because they use all fresh locally grown products."
Dined on 10/13/2013
The service was attentive and the
food was fun and delicious. It is a bit pricey though, so we will save going to Farm for special occasions."
