When the restaurant first opened, I ate there frequently; but as time passed it became rather ordinary; it wasn't ever bad, but it lacked inventiveness, something that would delight or challenge the taste buds. I was pleased when I decided to give it another try recently: the menu was varied and offered some enticing choices in almost every type of appetizer or entrée. One of my guests had their scallop special, served with an imaginative pasta, and she raved about it. I enjoyed a rich pork dish, served with beautiful potato fritters, and a huge fried pork rind. You won't find lamb stew on many menus, but my other guest enjoyed a large and tasty portion. This is the restaurant's third chef in as many years of existence, and I think they may have hit upon the one that is right for its clientele. They have also added a heated outdoor patio which takes some of the stress off of the limited indoor space and offers a pleasant ambiance. The servers are quite good, the management friendly. I'm delighted that they have updated and now offer one of Albuquerque's better dining choices.

  • Good but not mind-blowing

I've heard such great things about Farm & Table and I want to love it because of that. However, in the two times I've been there, the food was good, but didn't blow my mind or even rank at the top of my list for ABQ. A group of friends and I tried the Sunday brunch (which is always packed) and while the ambiance was great, the service was great, and we were very comfortable there, the food was just ok. My chicken fried steak was chewy and tough in places and the presentation lacked color or garnish (aka, was really boring). But I will return because the location in the valley is just lovely, the patio is gorgeous, and the restaurant is a great addition to the North Valley.

I loved Farm and Table! It's great to have a sustainable, 80% (their stats) local produce on the menu restaurant. New Mexico has great culinary traditions and it was good to see the menu reflect that (at least for breakfast). Three friends and I had brunch, mimosas and coffee. I ordered migas and they were devine. The red chili is to die for! I like the green but there's something about that smokey, deep red chili flavor. I'm a vegan and the chef was able to leave out the cheese (you can get them with tofu or eggs). It's so nice to find a local restaurant that has something on the menu for us. The wait staff were superb and it was wonderful to have the chef come out to say hello. Be sure and make reservations. We had a little bit of a wait even with our reservation but that was fine since not all of our party was on time. I made December reservations as soon as I got home. My NYC daughter and BF will love Farm and Table!

  • Getting it right in Albuquerque
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 11/15/2014
I always wonder why it is so hard to find a great place to dine in Albuquerque and so easy to find one in Santa Fe. All you need is a beautiful, warm and cozy room, a great menu with well prepared food, and friendly people. What is so hard about that? Farm and Table has it all - from the real wood burning fireplace and radiant heat floors, plastered walls and patio with fountain to the creative and delicious menu. Service was friendly, prompt, helpful and professional. Servings are small but appropriate - just don't count on spliting a meal like you do everywhere else in ABQ.

    Dined on 11/15/2014
Dined at Farm and Table for a special birthday celebration. We had heard good reviews. Although the food was good, the experience is not what we anticipated for the price point. Seating was not comfortable and ended up placing items (side dishes) on floor because table space was limited. Wait staff was adequate, but they never queried about quality of food. Unfortunately, bus person smelled like stale cigarettes. Several members of our party commented on that. We were hoping for an exceptional experience and we were disappointed.

We had a very early reservation for dinner after a matinee at Popejoy Hall. We arrived earlier than our reservation and were easily accommodated. This evening we sat inside near the roaring fire. The food was delicious and the service very attentive, but not overly so. I wish we had a similar place to eat in Santa FE.

This was my second visit to Farm and Table and the atmosphere and service were good both times. The food portions are small and lack flavor and interest. Definitely not worth the price. I asked for a side of fruit instead of the bread that came with my meal as I am Gluten Intolerant. They literally gave me a condiment size cup with an apple slice that had been cubed and 10 pomegranate seeds. Stingy. I left hungry and I don't eat that much to begin with. Want to love this place but a girl needs to eat!

Options included the soup of the day, a few salads, a modest number of other appetizers, about 7 main course dishes, 4 desserts. Two of the main course dishes were vegetarian; our party had both and pronounced them very good. We were seated outside the building, essentially under a tent, with propane stand heaters, on a rather cool night. We were warm enough aside from an occasional cool breeze (source a mystery). Menu emphasis is clearly on quality rather than a huge variety.

Farm and Table continues to shine as one of Albuquerque's more comfortable and pleasing restaurants, with the highest quality ingredients and great service. Sadly, they recently lost a great sommelier, Samuel, formally of Prairie Star, but the current staff seems to have learned from him and are still serving great wines to complement their excellent meals. Nick was our waiter, and he did a great job. About the only thing they might improve is to have a lighter choice of chocolate dessert. The pot de creme, while delicious, was too rich for our taste.

We love their brunch. Our folks were in town from CA and are picky vegetarians and they absolutely raved about the food. We had the Migas and the Waffle, both were fabulous. The pintos beans are especially done to perfection. My folks had breakfast enchiladas and they said red chili was perfect amount of heat. Thanks Farm & Table!

We went for brunch on my husband's birthday accompanied by our son, who was visiting from Ct. The menu choices were ample and varied, with the exception of dessert, which seemed limited and in one case unavailable. I ordered the poached eggs and sausage and while the eggs were perfectly done, the sausage portion was paltry, about the size of a silver dollar. This selection was served with a veritable mountain of green peppers, fair too many for one portion. My husband rated his Cuban sandwich an A+ and our son was more than satisfied with his southwest offering. We highly recommend the chocolate cream puff--absolutely heavenly.

Service was slow and inattentive. Our server took a long time to greet us, then left. We finally ordered wine and apps-the apps came before the wine. I had the salmon, it was dry and the potatoes that were served with it were also very dry, not much flavor :( We have been to Farm and Table several times, it was very disappointing.

We ordered appetizers, salad and entrees. Our dinner came prior to the aforementioned. When we mentioned this to our server there was the appropriate apology. However, a subsequent visit to our table from the manager provided an apology and questions about how to make up for the mistake. She was obviously concerned. We decided to forgo the appetizers and salad. Our meal was quite delicious and adequate. We did order dessert and coffee. Our waiter was also concerned with what happened. When the check arrived we were astonished at how much of our food, drink and dessert were discounted...by 100%. This kind of attention definitely warrants a return to this charming restaurant...soon.

My husband and I had dinner at Farm and Table for our 29th wedding anniversary on Saturday Nov. 1. We ate outside. Our waiter was a little distant but friendly. The duck tamales were very good although not very warm. I had the steak and my husband had the pig. Both were outstanding although I thought mine was the best! We had a french red wine that was fantastic. We finished the meal with a squash creme brule that was very tasty but not very warm. Over all it was a very delicious, romantic, and lovely evening. Thank you

Farm&Table are committed to local sourcing of their food, growing much of their product on their own Farm. They do a wonderful job interpreting classic New Mexico cuisine & applying this to modern tastes. The green chile stew was fantastic--I shoulda'/coulda' had two bowls as an entree! I was too embarrassed to ask for another serving. The perfectly cooked ribeye with cayenne butter and cornbread was supreme. To top off the night...Mexican Chocolate pot du creme. Simple. Rich. Satisfying. My friends enjoyed the Quinoa/peanut butter salad (yes, it was a hit!), and the Peking Pork. The vegan and gluten free offerings were also well-liked (Autumn Harvest Stew). Dining outdoors on a lovely Fall night in ABQ...can't be beat.
