The food has always been good here; I ordered the Sea Bass and it was just a bit overcooked, just a little less and it would have been perfect. Made reservations through OpenTable but it didn't seem to make any difference. The staff didn't read my request for my boyfriends birthday, and my seating request was also ignored. Still, it's a nice place and great ambiance.

A charming neighborhood place with a warm atmosphere and some understated elegance. You feel well taken care of. The food is delicious and the prices reasonable. Valet parking in the back, $6. Nice place to eat before going to an event at the Alex Theatre.

I was sadly disappointed with our experience, and I believe the Far Niente name is soiled. Far Niente is an upscale wine name that should have nothing to do with this cafeteria. My dad was in town and I wanted to take him to a good place. He was disappointed, as was I. The service woman had no idea what I meant by having wine with my appetizer and a wine with my entree. The house wine had nothing to do with Far Niente and the kitchen could be heard clanging its busy cafeteria dishes behind us. Thanks for nothing and for taking our money.
