  • "Even though it is 2000 miles from home and tucked in a quiet corner of the Monterey Peninsula, I try to dine at Fandango whenever I get close. It is a delightful setting with cozy rooms and a couple of fireplaces. Service is always over the top and the wine list is impressive and very reasonably priced. I was intent on having the excellent paella again but deferred to my wife's wishes and had a NY steak so we could share a bottle of red. The only reason fo the 4 star food rating was a gristly area in my steak. Otherwise everything was perfect. I hope to be back again soon."

  • "Our waiter brought us the wrong food and it then took an additional 20 minutes to get the correct entrees. When we finally received our entrees, both were still incorrectly prepared and poorly seasoned - especially given that this was a $36 entree item. Although the wine list is excellent, the overall experience is not worth the cost. it is not worth the cost. When we were in the Monterey area two years ago, we enjoyed the restaurant so much that we ate there two nights in a row. It's too bad that the service and food have gone downhill so much."

  • "We ate twice at Fandango. Once for a lunch, which was very good. However what we were really looking forward to was the dinner for which we had a reservation, and and the rack of lamb which is mentioned liberally in the reviews of the place. When we went to dinner, (just like Passionfish), they handed us a HUGE wine list, which included bottles that went up to stratospheric prices, but there was a VERY limited selection of actual wines by the glass. I had to simply specify the house merlot. It was quite decent. However, the waiter thought that we had ordered the rack 0f lamb ($39 and change, and petite) medium WELL, and we ordered it medium RARE. It came peculiarly cut in half and quite well done, ruined. They gave us free profiterolles."

I was here last year and I was recommended by the concierge at my bed and breakfast that Fandangos was one of her favorite restaurants in Pacific Grove.I was not disappointed and made a decision to return whenever I was back. This time I was with my husband and they made our 25th Wedding Anniversary such a special evening. It is no wonder that this place has a Zagat plaque. From one who has eaten at places around the world this gem is one that I will always remember. "

The menu is varied and fit for any foodie. I had the Rack of Lamb and my friend had the filet's with scampi. Both cooked to satisfaction and beyond. The dessert was Lemon Raspberry cheesecake which was absolutely decadent. Paired with Testarossa Pinot Noir and the experience was beyond...:)"

  • "This was our first trip to Fandango. We were attracted to the extensive menu with something special for everyone's taste. The offerings were Italian, French and American. The dishes ranged from fish to meat as well as vegetarian. In addition, there were a number of specials that were not on the menu. The wine list was extensive with offerings in all price ranges. The wines by the glass were very good choices as well. The servers were very knowledgeable and helpful. An overall very good experience."

  • "I had heard of Fandango for many years and so I took my mother for a nice dinner out. We were put in this tiny room where all the tables were full and loud conversations were already going on. Our waiter was excellent and everything was very timely. The food was just so so, which was a bit surprising given all the write-ups. I wouldn't go back because there are so many good choices in the area, but I would still recommend it as a nice restaurant."
