Diner Reviews
  • "Food is outstanding, but I was exhausted from shouting to the people in my party of 5 as well as trying to hear what was being said. It is such a shame because the food really is spectacular."

  • "My fiancé and I visited Fahrenheit on Wednesday to give it a try. Needless to say we were not impressed. The average entree will cost you about $35, which is fine if the food is good. In this case it was not. Very salty! On a good note the view as well as the outdoor area is fantastic. The drinks as well as the wine menu are priced reasonably. That in mind I would revisit this place for after work drinks but that's about it. If you're looking for an upscale dinner you're best bet is to try one of the many other places in uptown Charlotte."

  • "Took my husband here for his birthday and we fell in love with the restuarant. Great atmosphere inside and out especially when dusk came. It was beautiful outside with the fire box on (not really a fire pit). Food was good portions and excellent quality. Will be returning again soon!"

  • "Overall from start to finish we had good sevice and attention from the hostess and waitress. Food was enjoyed by all, particularly the potato encrusted grouper special. The view of Charlotte cannot be beat. However range noise level is quite high to the point we were having to lean next to one another to talk. Had a headache by the time we left. But would go back to show off that view but with earplugs."

  • "We really enjoyed our evening and the view was great. This is definitely a spot to entertain or for special occasions."

  • "Corey was an exceptional server. Lynn is a very welcoming and hospitable manager. Food was amazing-especially the chicken wings. Best wings Ive ever had which is profound for I do not like chicken wings. Ill only eat them there. Kobe was well flavored. Music was a bit loud. Look forward to dining here again soon."

  • "From the moment we walked in, we knew it was going to be the evening we were looking for. We were welcomed by a professional staff and shown to our table, away from the main part of the restaurant as I'd requested, since we were celebrating our anniversary. The main part is louder, and had we been dining for no occasion or with friends, would have been fun. Our waiter was wonderful, gave us time to look over the menu, and when we asked, gave us fabulous suggestions. We NEVER would have ordered the appetizer he suggested, but we followed his suggestion and thoroughly enjoyed the dates. The specialty drinks are a must have, they are creative and crazy delicious, as were our salads, entrees and desserts. I could go on-Fahrenheit is a gem."

  • "Food was horrible! It was Restaurant Week and we didn't order from the restaurant week menu but the "regular" menu instead; mashed potatoes were cold, appetizers which were supposed to be Spring Rolls were horrible; fried rice awful; lobster tail - the worse. 3 scallops for $30??? For the $80 bill the best thing about the meal was the Mojito and the view - otherwise don't waste your time - especially if you're hungry"

  • "Fahrenheit in April and it was great. This time just ok. Service was lacking, meal was average and the hostess was pretty snotty. I did all I could not to say "rude and stupid, is no way to go through life." She paged us twice and called once to let us know our table was ready AFTER she already sat us. Ordered dessert which didn't come for several minutes. He said it would be another 2 minutes. 5 minutes later he returned to tell us that they were out of ice cream which goes with the bread and butter cake. He said it would take approx 10 min to get more. After waiting now about 1/2 hr, we asked for our check and pd. Upon leaving (much less than 10 min) we passed a waiter delivering two bread and butter cakes W/ ICE CREAM to another table!"

  • "Fahrenheit definitely feels like a hotel restaurant once you move out of the bar area. The staff is all very snooty and the service is poor overall. The food was pretty good, but the bad service ruined the experience. The staff needs to be warm and welcoming, not act like they wish they didn't have to be there. Even the bartenders talked among themselves only while we had drinks and you had to beg for attention and it wasn't even crowded."

  • "Wanted to try this place but was warned that it was very expensive. Resturant week provided a great opportunity to try. We were not disappointed, food was wonderful and plentiful. The bar and cocktail selection was so fun . We were made to feel so welcome even though it was a " fixed" menu We will be back"

  • "Another restaurant week dinner. The only problem is I can't quiet remember what I had. There were some green mashed potatoes involved that were pretty tasty. And a bread and butter cake was pretty dry. Other than that, the bar was nice. There is an outdoor patio with fire pits. The set up was a bit awkward, there were many people out side that wanted to sit, but there is no seating around the fire pits to enable you to sit outside an enjoy the view at night. a few people were sitting on the floor chatting. The location is great and the vibe is nice for drinks."

  • "We called to tell them we were running a few minutes late due to traffic and construction. The hostess gave us a hard time saying that they would "try" to hold the table. When we arrived there was NO ONE there! Only about 1/4 of the tables were occupied by guests. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese and he ordered the salmon. I was underwhelmed by the mac and cheese. I'm not paying $38 for velveta and fake lobster. The waiter asked my bf what temperature he wanted his salmon. He said MW but salmon was raw. Bf asked if he could just have a burger instead. Manager brought it out. (they still charged us for salmon though). Got the milk and cookie and the cookie was stale and brittle. Bf's Jameson and Ginger Ale and it was $17! This isn't DC!"

  • "Very energetic place! Food and service were great, but my husband and I had trouble hearing each other. It was extremely loud in the restuarant! Great if you want to feel like you're at a hot spot, but not particulary intimate and romantic. But overall, we enjoyed it. Great views and rooftop bar!"

  • "Cramped dining room. Servers ran into our tables twice. Food was at best mediocre. It was crowded and we learned it was Queens feast. However not an excuse for average food and service. Best service was busboy."

  • "Perfect for couples or groups. Amazing city views, roof top terrece with outdoor seating availible. The food was amazing and the chef uses local farmers so everything was fresh. The fried goat cheese app and the scallops entre' where a perfect combo. The cocktail list is creative and satisfying - try the lemonde - it's sweet but not too sweet. I made a reservation for two and our group grew by 4 more, the staff accomadated us quickly and we ended up with one of the best tables in the house. I'm def coming back with my girlfriends and it will be a regular birthday spot! The bar is lively - but the rest of the resturant is quaint an intimate. I would not bring kids here after 8 or so, it is a very grown and sexy vibe."

  • "My fiance and I went here with my parents for a nice evening out and it was outstanding! The wait staff were super friendly and attentive even though it was nuts (it was restaurant week). I will say that the menu is a little pricey so save it for a special occasion. However there are ways to make it a little more affordable. For example the pizza's are super delish and HUGE! Definitely enough for two or more people to split. Also the Carolina nachos were enormous (we split it between four people). I had the Ahi seared tuna , it was spicy and wonderful. Dad had the pork and whipped sweet potatoes, pork was seasoned to perfection and you just cant go wrong with whipped sweet potatoes. My Fiance had Lobster Mac and Cheese and holy cow amazing!"

  • "Food, service and atmosphere is incredible. The noise was a bit much. It was hard to hear my wife or talk to her without raising my voice more than I would want to at dinner. I would definitely go back but I am hopeful te next time the noise is under control. It was quieter at the bar than it was at our table."

  • "Fahrenheit has a menu with more options than the typical high end Charlotte resturant. Excelent flavors, and unusual side combinations make the menu more interesting than most. Dinner was much better than anticipated."

  • "This was the first time for my companion and I to dine at this restaurant. We attended during Charlotte Restaurant Week and found that the menu selection was very adequate. We dined early in the evening, so the noise level was very low. Our server (Jasmine) was very attentive and helpful with many suggestions about a wine selection to compliment our dinner selection. We wanted some time to enjoy the views from the terrace, so we asked our server if she could have the kitchen hold the main course. She was more than happy to accomodate us and personally came to get us when the main course was ready to be served. My companion and I were very impressed with the food presentation and flavor. We would definitely come back again."

  • "We ate at this restaurant during Queen's Feast so I can't say if this is typical for the restaurant, but both of us were disappointed. The menu was fine, the food was good, but not spectacular, and certainly not worthy of $31-50 per plate on a regular night. The restaurant was hot, loud, and although there was no waiting to get in, we didn't get a sip of wine in before apps, didn't get a bite of apps in before our dinners were served, and upon taking our plates, the waitress suggested we take our wine outside, in the rain. Our white wine was left on the table without a cooling container, or even a towel to hold the condensation from the heat in there. The view is nice and the concept is nice. Won't go back."

  • "My fiancé and I went to Fahrenheit on 7/23 as part of the Charlotte Restaurant Week. Our reservation was for 8:45, but we weren't seated until 9:30. We had drinks at the bar and took them out onto the patio, which was possibly the greatest thing about Fahrenheit. When we were seated our served came over and welcomed us. After we ordered our drinks and made our selections from the menu, we had to wait some time before we saw our server again. We received our first course before we ever got our drinks. The food was okay. Honestly, it tasted like it had been made much earlier in the day and was just warmed during the day until it needed to be served. My egg rolls were far from crispy and the meat I had was tough and barely warm."

  • "The food is some of the best I've had in Charlotte. The view certainly is! A little crowded and very loud (during Restaurant Week), so not the place if you are looking for quiet, candlelit romance. But that may be different during another time. Fahrenheit is definitely worth a try. You won't be disappointed."

  • "I went to this restaurant with a group of six on a Wed. during Restaurant week. Our table was not ready for an 8:15 reservation. We were given 3 complimentary appetizers of their choosing that were not ordered until we sat down at 9pm. We had arrived at 7:30 for a drink at the bar It would have been nice if they ordered our apps when they knew the table was getting ready to turn instead of waiting for us to be seated. Our appetizers arrived 15 min later and then we had another appetizer as part of the Queen's Feast meal. We would have appreciated a free round of drinks or a bottle of wine more than food on food. That being said, the food was well prepared and delicious. The ambience is a bit noisy and the bar is crowded."

  • "We had a party of 8 that they tried to squish in to a 4 top and a 2 top. It just did not work and we had to ask to add a table and it made the table set up extremely awkward. Service was mediocre. Drinks were good. Food was ok. Staff was fairly rude in my oppinion. Worst of all the noise...you would think an established chef and restaurant owner would know how to design a dining room that does sound like I'm at an after work happy hour when I'm eating at 8:30. I had to yell to have people across the table hear me. There are modern art sound absorption panels and other elements that can be used to absorb noise. It was not a great experience. I will only return for an after work drink in the future."

  • "We checked in for our 6:30 reservation. At 6:50 we were still waiting, so I asked the manager. They had obviously forgotten about us but then seated us promptly. Our server was professional but not particularly warm. The food (spring roll, scallops, pork tenderloin over very sweet potatoes) was quite good but not outstanding. Noise level was high...we had to raise our voices significantly to talk to each other. The overwhelming positive was the gorgeous physical layout and decor, and a spectacular view of the Charlotte skyline, unlike any other area restaurant. The outdoor patio area is also beautiful. We'd come back in the fall and dine on the patio."

  • "We went for restaurant week July 2014. I started with the Vietnamese Chicken Spring Rolls which was crispy and the chicken had a nice curry flavor without being overpowering. The Coffee and Mustard Grilled Pork Tenderlion was nicely prepared. The Pièce de résistance was the Bread and Butter Cake and Vanilla Ice Cream. YUMMY! Our service provider was Chris and I will definitely ask for his service."

  • "We chose our first visit to Fahrenheit during Restaurant Week and were able to save significant dollars after reviewing the standard menu and wine/cocktail lists. The fried goat cheese appetizer was outstanding as were the salmon, pork loin and scallop entrees. We were a bit disappointed in the lack of gluten free choices on the Restaurant Week menu for one of our diners and management's refusal to offer any kind of alternatives. Our waiter was top drawer - very attentive, professional and willing to help. Being on the 21st floor of the Hyatt Regency does not guarantee you a scenic view if you're not seated at one of the few window tables and decorative columns in the dining room's center effectively block even more of the view."

  • "I really enjoyed my recent dinner experience at Fahrenheit. The views of the skyline were quite impressive. The food was also very good. The service more than met my expectations. Perhaps not the place for children, but a great find for adults. It's now one of my new favorites."

  • "A little hard to find the entrance and valet parking is expensive at $7.00 with no alternative parking in the area. Once upstairs the restaurant itself is stunning and the views especially beautiful. Menu choices are great and service although our waiter was very busy was very very good. But the noise was deafening. Conversation was impossible. Why is it becoming impossible to go to dinner and actually hear your friends instead of every one else in the restaurant? That is the one fault that would prevent me from coming back."

  • "Called restaurant to get a same day reservation. Was told there were none. Went to open table and found 3 reservations available . Waiter was nice but inattentive. Was gone for long periods causing us to ask other waiters for help. Filet mignon ordered medium well, however it was cooked rare. Menu said it came with garlic mash potatoes, received really sweet sweet potatoes. Bus boy kept coming to the table filling my daughters glass of sprite with water. Had to change the glass to make it evident that it was soda. Was not worth the pricey tab overall. However, the view was the best in Charlotte and the drinks were great. Ambience was nice"

  • "I went to Fahrenheit with a group of friends during restaurant week. The first thing that struck me was the noise level, extremely loud. Our server Casey was very good, telling us about dishes on the menu. I had King Salmon with wasabi mashed potatoes. The dish was Asian inspired and delicious. My husband had a coffee rubbed pork tenderloin served over mashed sweet potatoes. The tenderloin was very good, the coffee rub was not overpowering, and the sweet potatoes with maple syrup complimented the meat perfectly. If you are looking for good food with a vibrant atmosphere and great views of Charlotte, Fahrenheit is for you."

  • "Alot of buzz around this new bar/resturant that is an added option to create an uptown experience with a great view and great food. It delivered on that. We were there on a not so great night weather wise but was still able to enjoy the view from the bar and ventureed outside for a better view and a peak at the outdoor space. Somewhat limited seating outdoors but a great bar space to see uptown. Had to be a little picky on our table as they have a bit of a strange table layout. Food was outstanding. The only negtive was the temperature of the food was not as hot as we would prefer but delivered on great taste and flavor combinations. Service - good. Only other negative was the noise level was a little high. Would definitely recommend."
