Diner Reviews
  • "Amazingly good food! Just wish the desert menu had more choices."

  • "I dined here with a small group of girlfriends; the atmosphere was lively and the view is spectacular. The chef was incredibly accommodating and offered us some special features. All of our food was cooked perfectly and our waiter was attentive and knowledgable. I highly recommend going for a meal or at the very least, a city view drink at the bar."

  • "View is fantastic, food was good but not amazing (for price it should be amazing). View from the dining room was just ok, glare from the lighting inside made it hard to see. Best view is from the bar and outdoor areas. Would be better for just a quick drink spot to enjoy the bar area then head somewhere else for dinner."

  • "I took my girlfriend here on her birthday. This place has a great view and nice ambiance. Unfortunately the food was terrible. I ordered the filet... I asked for medium and it was more well done. The mashed potatoes were paste-y and the food was over seasoned and oily. Overall I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The sub par food didn't warrant the expensive cost. Although, our drinks were decent and the view was spectacular. I only ate half of my food... Which was $40 and I was given the wrong to go container with someone else's food = more $ wasted."

  • "Could not believe we were actually in Charlotte NC. Incredible food with outrageous flavors. The view is outstanding. Thank you Cleveland for letting Chef Rocco share with Charlotte."

  • "We enjoyed yet another fabulous dinner at Fahrenheit! Food always cooked perfectly and service is always impeccable. So glad to have this gem in Charlotte. Even saw Chef Rocco..."

  • "Everything was excellent except for tuna entree which could must have been prepared for lunch salad."

  • "On an early Sunday evening, this was a fine dining experience. Because of a friend's comments about the noise & crowded atmosphere he had experienced on a Saturday night, I was concerned about this for our anniversary celebration. There was no need for the concern. Everything about our meal was "top drawer'. Service was nicely attentive; food was outstanding (we each chose from the evening's specials and they were both very special - lobster and eye of ribeye). Overall, the menu has a very attractive mix of entrees and appetizers that will draw us back. We were there so early that we didn't get the full impact of the fire pits, but they are beautiful and unusual."

  • "The restaurant arguably has the best views Charlotte. It is, however, is not quite enough to compensate for lack of decor, lighting and sparkle that needs to be addressed in this restaurant. Linen tablecloths could be an easy start. Lighting is dead cold. There is actually no decor to speak of. The menu is wonderful and one visit does not a true food review make. I had cauliflower appetizer. Great flavor, a little underdone. Halibut was tough. Ouch. Maybe i will ask friends in the coming months how their visits are and then return. Or just come for a drink and enjoy that view. Service was great-- always appreciated!"

  • "My girlfriend and I have had many great meals since moving to Charlotte but Fahrenheit has set the bar. Tremendous fine dining experience from start to finish."

  • "Took a late reservation so we could have a couple cocktails and enjoy the view. Outside space is nice, great for photo opps but set up a little awkwardly with narrow pathways that make it difficult to mingle/move around. Lots of planters that people were walking through. It was a hot night and the wind was blowing so hard it was actually chilly. The modern fire pits are nice, but don't provide much heat. Arrived an hour early. Tables were open but the staff still seemed rushed. Great cocktails. We were seated on time. Service was slow, but friendly. The other patrons were the worst part. Loud obnoxious table of drunks next to us– NOT the bachelorette party! The burrata, kale salad and salmon were great!! Wine selection, not so good."

  • "Disappointing experience for someplace we have waited months to go to eat food made by chef Rocco Whalen. Clearly a hot spot...see & be seen type of bar with undoubtedly the best view of the city out on the terrace. But that is where it ended. 9pm reservation. Not seated until 10:15pm. Ridiculous. Server was not interested in helping us pick the best items on menu...just the most expensive. Food was ok but not worth the drive or money. 6 people tacked on 20% grat. because we had friend sit at table which made 7 while waiting for our food which was painfully long. They had a drink from bar and didn't eat with us. Got our bill 12:45am. Sitter at home, 30 minute drive...overall bad taste. Gorgeous view, service & food. Fail. Won't be back."

  • "The view was spectacular outside, but the noise level inside as well as the price level took away from the experience. It was great for foodies, but for less adventurous types dining with the foodies it was a little slim on choices. Biggest issue was the noise. We could hardly have a conversation."

  • "Table and View were nice, it was really hot inside not sure if the AC was working properly. Appetizers were excellent, entrees were not that great. Ahi Tuna was way too spicy and I usually love spicy food but it had so much seasoning rubbed on it that I was choking and had to drink water after every bite until I gave up and traded entrees with my husband because I didn't complain to anyone about my meal (I never do). Milkshake dessert was super sweet - all 4 people in my group stated the same thing and none of us finished them. Drinks were weak and over priced - Jameson on the rocks is $21 and the men at our table had 3-4 each so half of our tab was their drinks. I won't go back! There are much better places in the same price range!"

  • "Everything was perfect except it was a little too noisy for dinner. We will come back on a week night because the food, the view and the service was wonderful!"

  • "Not the place if you want an interesting, well prepared meal. The ambiance is not nearly what we expected. While we were dressed to the nines, others were there in bathing suits. The decor was cold, and the view was not that great. Almost every cocktail on the menu has simple syrup - yuck! And while my husband's steak was just fine, my fish was so overcooked I had to use a knife to cut it. In my book it should just easily flake away. Overall - next time we want the full dining experience, we won't be eating or drinking here."

  • "Had saved Fahrenheit for my birthday. The views are spectacular but the food disappointing. Had a salad and small plates. The greens on the fried goat cheese croquette salad were very salty. The chorizo stuffed dates were good. Most disappointing, however, was the featured appetizer of a tuna mixture on top of fried plantains. It was bland and the "fried" plantains were mushy. When we were asked by the manager how we enjoyed are meal, we politely told her and she seemed surprised and unapologetic. Unfortunately, to see the spectacular views you have to crawl around tables set right in the walk way. The night we were there we, along with many others, had to step into a raised flower bed just get in and out on to the roof top terrace."

  • "Great food but long wait despite making reservation for 8 people @ 8:00 weeks earlier and arriving promptly. Wait staff was excellent but hostesses seemed aloof, even irritated and kept saying "just a few more minutes" when it was going to be 30 minutes+. Ended up in worst table in restaurant - a semi-circular right near kitchen with view of kitchen door vs. Charlotte skyline - very noisy and hot."
    Dined on 8/20/2014
  • "The restaurant was so noisy that we couldn't even hear the waiters. Our table was so close to the adjacent table that our waiter couldn't even get behind us to serve the food. The meal was good but not over the top. The food came out so quickly that the entire meal only took 75 minutes. Not worth the money. If I went back, I would just go to the bar, have a drink outside and enjoy the terrific view."

  • "What a unique and beautiful spot for Uptown Charlotte. Fahrenheit really sets itself apart from all the rest with the amazing city views, the ambience and creative menu. It's great for a date night, a night out for some cocktails with friends or even a business dinner. I highly recommend everyone who resides in the Uptown area to take advantage of this new spot."

  • "Dining Room was very hot - A/C must not have been working correctly. Hostess sat two of the three guests who arrived first and then rudely told the third guest who arrived a few minutes later that there was no reservation in his name. Manager promised to find a table (despite hostess saying there wouldn't be any available tables), but still no one told the third guest for nearly 20 minutes that the other two guests already had been seated under the reservation. Lots of unnecessary disorganization. Once the confusion was solved, no effort was made to apologize or make up for the situation. Service (wait staff) and food were still excellent."

  • "First time at this very scenic spot. Service was very good but food is overpriced for the quality. Had to send back the drinks as one of their specialty drinks tasted like a Shirley temple."

  • "We went to celebrate a friends birthday and it was great. Everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations. I will definitely make it a point go again next time I'm in Charlotte."

  • "The restaurant was so nice. The bar was packed and the outdoor lounge area was super cool. The food was good, but we had to send our drinks back to the bar a couple times. I say go!"

  • "We enjoyed our first visit to Fahrenheit, as the service was great, the food was good for the most part, although one of our group was disappointed with the short rib dish. We had a nice view although we had to eat much earlier than we wanted, as there were only 5;15 reservations available through Open Table. We were then disappointed to see that there were many unoccupied tables when we left around 7:15. Had tried to call the rest. 2 times to make reservations on our own, but no one answered the phone."

  • "I brought my boyfriend here for his 30th birthday. The most recent reviews were so-so, but it looked so cool I couldn't pass it up. SO glad I didn't! We were prepared for the noise & loud music so we didn't mind! The place itself is beautiful, not a bad seat in the house (and the view... WOW). Our waitress, Charlotte, was wonderful. Attentive, polite, and knowledgeable. She wasn't shy about giving us recommendations. And the food... AMAZING! Please try the bacon wrapped dates! We both ordered specials for our meals - shrimp & grits and fish with oscar sauce. We got a free dessert for his birthday (butter cake), which was delicious. Great cocktail menu; I recommend the Spicy Charlotte! So different, but SO good. We will definitely return!"

  • "I would recommend this restaurant for several reasons. The view from the top is most enjoyable. Great panoramic shot of Charlotte. Food very good, healthy and fresh. Makes of the best Manhattans in town!"

  • "I made my reservation with a note that my guest had a low sodium diet. The menu is freshly prepared entrees so this should not have been a problem. The chef said he did not make modifications so he would only modify a couple of items despite the medically prescribed diet. The food came out covered in salt. We could see the salt crystals from across the room. I sent the food back and saw a chef cut off a part of the food to taste it. When it came back it was obvious the asparagus was rinsed under water and a big portion of the meat was cut off. Considering the amount of salt would have put my guest in the hospital, we left. The manager said he was sorry but wasn't sincere. He didn't even apologize when he bumped into me as I was leaving."

  • "We went to Fahrenheit for a late dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant has the best view of downtown Charlotte adding to the ambiance. However, it was a little loud in the dining area. The food was presented well and tasty. Our servicer was very knowledgeable about the specials and how the food was prepared. I would definitely recommend Fahrenheit as a great place for date night."

  • "Given the location and marketing, I was disappointed that the prime location is wasted. The interior ceiling is too low (as low as a typical hotel room/condo apt) hence the noise level was amplified. The food was sub optimal. Valet parking at most restaurants uptown is free but at Fahrenheit, a discount of a mere $3 was given."

  • "This restaurant was recommended by friends so we gave it a try. I'm not sure Fahrenheit knows what it wants to be. The menu was interesting and prices pretty steep, but repeated prompts by the server to "get some appetizers going" made it feel like an Applebee's. Entrees came out early – this and other issues made it clear the kitchen was not coordinated with the servers. Entrées were over sauced and salty. The server was cheerful, efficient and did her best. The view was great and it was a good crowd. I'll go back for drinks but not dinner."

  • "I really wanted to like Fahrenheit, but sadly it was a miss. Even with 8pm reservations on a Weds we were a good 25 minutes late sitting down. I was willing to look past this as there is a nice outdoor area with views of the skyline but the rectangular fire pits that flank both sides of the outdoor space were on despite it being in the high 80s outside and it was HOT out there! Once we were seated inside, there was absolutely no AC running despite the large number of people inside the restaurant. The food was alright but my kale salad tasted dry and my scallop entree included three pieces of actual scallops and was covered in a very SALTY cauliflower cream sauce. It was kind of gross. Sorry guys... this place is just not cutting it."

  • "As I looked around the room at the gorgeous skyline view and the massive number of people dining at Fahrenheit, I thought to myself "Is this really a Wednesday night in Charlotte NC?" It has a London or NYC ambiance. The food was 5 star and better than some meals that I have had in NYC, London and Paris. Service was professional and fun."

  • "View and decor were excellent BUT the noise level surpassed any restaurant in which we have ever dined. Conversation was impossible without shouting. The $32 lobster mac and cheese that was to have "chunks of lobster" had not one single visible piece of lobster in it. Grated pieces added flavor to what was essentially a bowl of pasta. Parking was $7 + $3 to valet even after a $190 diner tab. Have cocktails on the terrace for the view and the quiet is our recommendation."

  • "Wonderful view, and a killer atmosphere in the bar area when they open all the doors to the patio. The food I felt was a little lacking. I had the Halibut and it was overdone, and lacked flavor. Chorizo wrapped dates appetizer is excellent. Kale salad was also wonderful...it's huge so you may want to split it. Overall the atmosphere/view makes up for what the food lacks."

  • "We expected a nice fine dining experience but quickly realized that is not what this restaurant is. The hostess seemed bothered to have to seat us and the food was just ok to not very good. It sounded good on the menu but just didn't follow through on the plate. The patrons were dressed in ripped jeans and some women were in club type wear so that distracted from the ambiance as well as the very loud probably inebriated groups that sang Happy Birthday at least 4 times during our meal. Everything from the patrons to the food seemed like a mid level chain restaurant which might have been ok if the prices were in line with the quality of the experience. Our server was very nice and efficient but there is a lot of room for improvement here."

  • "Regarding Fahrenheit-Charlotte restaurant... I would say avoid it. The view is alright, if you don't mind the kids playing in the hotel pool right to your left. The food is way over priced and low quality. $40 for a bowl of 50 cent Ramen noodles with crab meat dropped in. I give it maybe 2 stars... The spring rolls were gross. For a fancy evening celebrating a special event, go to Bentley's"

  • "Great food, drinks, service, view of the city... Thrilled to have something like this in Charlotte. Red Fish was amazing, as well as Lobster Mac and Cheese, Calamari...everything we ordered was great! If you didn't like this place, there is something wrong with you."
