Diner Reviews
  • "We booked a table for 9pm and the place was dead empty. However we were sort of rushed to leave the table around 10 as the place turns into a club. Food was ok and the server was nice but really disappointed with the whole experience. It's a very nice bar / club, but wouldn't recommend it for dinner unless you turn up at 7 or so..."

  • "We tried the hummus, coconut soup, and short ribs. Everything was mediocre tasting. The service wasn't great either. The waiter would disappear for long stretches of time. We won't be going back there."

  • "Celebrating my wifes birthday at Fahrenheit was perfect choice. We had excellent service from a pleasantly personanable wait staff. The food was amazingly delicious. It was our first experience with the establishment and will be a place we intend on revisiting for our future dinning. It couldn't have been any better for the special celebration."

  • "Chose this restaurant because of the good reviews we read and because it was close to our Hotel. Overall experience was very pleasant. Most of the staff was attentive and friendly. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helped with pairing our meals with beverages. A major plus. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone."

  • "This restaurant is obviously, from its entrance, general setup and décor, a club that does better around midnight than at 8pm. That atmosphere detracts from the dining experience. I felt as though I was sitting in a temporary restaurant."

  • "All the staff was friendly. Owner/Chef Danny was our server. For dinner, we had the calamari appetizer and then the Duck Au Vin and Pan Seared Halibut. The calamari was super yummy. It was nicely breaded, not too oily, and came with a yummy sauce that was very flavorful. The duck and halibut had good flavor, but both were over-cooked. This made them dry. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff. That's important to note, because, after checking out their website, I was worried that the place was going to be a crazy, party atmosphere. That may still be the case when dancing starts after 10pm, but we didn't stay that late. BTW, they validate parking! Final thoughts: I wouldn't say no if asked to go back, but it's not a must return."

  • "Very good restaurant by day, nightclub immediately after the dinner hour. We live in the neighborhood and highly recommend everything on the menu. We're 50 years old and love the food, just not the nightclub that it transforms into after 10:00. There's nothing wrong with it being a nightclub, just not our taste. The food is though! You won't be disappointed."

  • "I liked the choices on the menu. Although the portions of food were varied. My husband's short ribs was a big portion compared to my Duck Au Vin. The Brussels sprouts salad was very good and I would order it again. Would definitely try it again. Service was very good - friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable."

  • "There was not enough selection among items on the dinner menu. My date's halibut was underdone (pink), so she sent it back requesting that it be cooked until it was flaky. Nevertheless, it still came back underdone and pink inside. Apparently the chef demands you eat it the way he/she thinks you should enjoy it. The braised short ribs were good, however there was too much fat that had to be cut away before you could enjoy the beef."

  • "Thanks Danny! Met the owner, had a nice chat re: recipes and so forth! It was awesome. So great I went back twice and took my family! Once even stayed when it turned into a full lounge/club!!!! Love Love Love it! Must return!"

  • "Never had such salty food. I'm the type that doesn't mind salty food but this dinner was unbearable. The chef must have really got careless with the salt shaker."

  • "Overall we enjoyed our Valentine's dinner. However, we didn't recieve complimentary champagne until we inquired it as the restaurant advertised. Our waiter brought us our champagne when we got our desserts. Otherwise, food was delicious. Not too impressed with lobster bisque. It was very watery and tasted like old sea water. Would not recommend it."

  • "Tried Fahrenheit for 1st time...thought it was only a nightclub...glad the friendly owner/chef is focusing on the dinner side of the house! What an outstanding wonderful meal! Diverse & flavor packed menu with huge emphasis on locally sourced! Attentive & friendly service. Excellent bar with approachable wines. Will return for their 1/2 off wine nights on Wednesdays! (thanks for the head's up, server Chris!)."

  • "So I guess I should have known better than to think I would find a gem with only a few days before Valentine's day, but I thought for $70 per person fixed menu it would be great. We got in were sat at a folding table that had bare metal legs positioned near what looked like a VIP section. The lights were so bright over our table that I had to ask the staff to lower them cause it was hurting my eyes, let alone the fact that it was valentine's day. My drink their take on an old fashion was great, but my fiance ordered an apple bourbon drink and she said it was super weak, so she just went to wine. The food was OK, but it was not worth $70. Finally we had to wait over 20 min to get our bill. I ended up paying $250 and was underwhelmed."

  • "This place doesn't have a clue how cook. I ordered my meet medium and my girl friend ordered her meet medium well. They both came out rare. The water taste terrible, so we had to buy water. For desert we had the strawberries, which were very soggy. And the rest of the food tasted bad also, the flavors they mix together just aren't right. These chefs should not be chefs. It was a huge waste of $250.00."

  • "Great for Pre-San Jose Rep dining. They have added some dining tables by the window area on San Fernando, so early seating is ample. The staff is helpful with suggestions and checking in that all is well and whether anything is needed. The food is prepared well. Portion sizes are right sized (except the "cowboy rib-eye" is HUGE -- great for leftovers. The duck was falling-apart tender and with a tasty wine reduction sauce (a bit on the salty side, for me -- but I don't add salt to anything). I have tried several of their soups and salads -- always a treat. Their panko calamari is tender and crispy."

  • "We planned a bday dinner for one of our friends a couple weeks back. When the BF told me we were going to Fahrenheit I was skeptical, I'd only known them as an ultra lounge. We had a big group, they were able to seat us easily and take excellent care of us throughout the entire evening. The specialty cocktails from the bar were delicious, my favorite tasted like apple pie! Having such a large group we were able to taste a little bit of everything on the menu, I recommend the Pastrami Pork Belly and the Cowboy Bone-in Rib-Eye which was GIGANTIC, well seasoned, and perfectly cooked. I'll definitely be back!!"

  • "We enjoyed the food and service as much the second time as the first which was very much. I especially like the portion sizes which are not too large so you can't over eat. We will definitely be returning."

  • "My Brother & I came to this place not knowing much about it other than the reviews left here. We both had the Braised Ribs, Bacon Mustard Greens, and Potatoes. The Brasied Ribs were good but a little over-cooked for my liking. The Bacon Mustard Greens were awesome and the highlight of the dish. I could have ate another bowl of just that and been happy. Potatoes were good too. We also tried two of the desserts. The Bananas Foster was amazing! The Cookie Sundae was just OK. Lots of fun drinks on the menu if you are into that and a good selection of spirits."

  • "Our group of four celebrated a birthday at Fahrenheit. AWESOME food and service. While the entertainment lounge/bar is great: Definitely go for the food. Each dish is accompanied by perfectly paired sides. Portions are appropriate. Price is reasonable. Great find. We'll be back."

  • "This place is a hidden gem of a restaurant! For years I only knew of this place as a dancing venue, but I was pleasantly surprised to find they had a very attractive dinner menu. I've been coming here for happy hour at the bar and have sampled quite a few of the specialty cocktails which are very original and extremely tasty ranging from a festive drink that tastes like an apple pie to the best old fashioned I've ever had. I was happy to find that the menu recently changed to incorporate seasonal ingredients and dishes. The Braised Short Ribs are phenomenal! The zesty bacon mustard greens add a nice kick to the savory short rib! I can't wait to try some of the other new dishes that they have added!"

  • "Just had dinner and we enjoyed it very much, we split the mac & cheese, the black bean chicken with biriyani rice and the cookie sundae, everything was delicious came out quick, and the staff was all very friendly. We had a couple cocktails and the flavors were all balanced and amazing , the antti niemi was my favorite."

  • "We had limited time for dinner before a show and our waiter advised us of dishes that could be prepared quickly. They were delicious (baked halibut and braised beef ribs) and were delivered promptly. Our waiter was attentive and efficient. It probably helped that the restaurant was almost empty, as we arrived just as it opened. We would definitely go back again."

  • "We came in before the sharks game this Saturday. It was our first time visiting, and we had a good experience. We noted that we were on a time schedule, and we were able to finish our dinner with some time to spare. I was surprised when the server noted that their entire menu was organic and/or local, but he was able to explain where items came from which was nice to hear. There was a good variety on the menu to choose from. We found ourselves having a difficult time narrowing down our selections (we will have to come back the next time we are downtown for a game) . Overall, it was a good experience, and happy to have found this new dining option for us."

  • "First time coming here & it was great. We had the Panko Calamari & it was delicious with the cilantro spicy jelly as an appetizer. Best calamari I've tasted. Would totally come back. Food was also very good. The meat was tender & had lots of flavor."

  • "Fahrenheit is a favourite spot for that pre-show dinner - quiet, great food, and low key, even though it has a large, open bar area that begs for larger, more energetic times later in the evening (since we are in the theatre, we have not experienced this place later on.) Having mentioned that we were going to a 7:30pm show when we made the reservation, we were pleased that both the hostess and the waiter mentioned our theatre tickets and that they would make sure we would have plenty of time to make it. We usually have multiple appetizers, letting us sample a variety of flavours. All of their appetizers were very good, and their gnocchi were so pillowly light with a very mild pesto that complemented nicely."

  • "All the food we had during our meal was outstanding, and our service was very very good. An especially nice touch was the house made potato chips for my husband to eat with the hummus since he is on a gluten free diet. We will definitely eat here again soon."

  • "One would be surprised to find a bar/nightclub with great food: here's one. The duck with raspberry sauce was outstanding as was the steak. Tip: eat at the bar and appetizer menu is half price (large appetizers, a meal themselves). Service was good, highly recommend for before theatre (SJ Rep) or Camera 12."

  • "There was a high school reunion going on right next to us, so it was loud. Wish there was a separate room for them. Food was very good and waiter was great. Would go back, hopefully on a quieter night."

  • "For a dinner at 7:30, we were surprised to be the only diners. Clearly this is a bar, with restaurant ambitions. The waiter started by listing half the menu as unavailable. What was eventually delivered was average at best."

  • "This location is a bar and dance floor first, during early hours they setup tables in the dance area. The booths and floor smelled of old beer. The bartender needed several requests before drinks were made. Once we placed our appetizer orders, the server would disappear for big chunks of time. Two menu items were sold out, one only moments before we ordered it. The website makes them look organic, sustainable, and nice ambiance. Instead, it was like a foodie is renting the space during the early hours before the whole place goes DJ las vegas. The venue was not a pretty restaurant, it was a bar that serves food except that you wait forever for it and many things you want from the otherwise creative menu will not be available!"
