Diner Reviews
  • "The food is mediocre, at best, and very over-priced. I would have preferred going to the Olive Garden over this place. We only went because we were going to the theater and my companion had eaten there before. He recalled that the food was significantly better the last time he had been there. I also think they charged me for garlic bread that was returned because it was too salty. Next time I will go elsewhere."

  • "Had another good meal at Fabiolus Cucina The service was a little slow, however the ambience was very nice. I'll be back."

  • "The restaurant itself is small but expanded tremendously by the very comfortable tented patio areas. The menu is varied with something for everyone - it even catered to my gluten-free friend with multiple pasta and polenta choices. There were several large groups present but the noise was never excessive. The polenta was wonderful and the prices were good. And the valet lot where we could leave our car for only $10 and walk to the theater after dinner was a real plus."

  • "We were a group of 5 in town to run the Hollywood Half Marathon. I found this place online and it was even better than what I expected. Great food, great prices, friendly wait staff."

  • "I visited the restaurant prior to seeing a show at the Pantages and it was a delightful find! The food was delicious. The service was timely and the restaurant has a neat indoor/outdoor feel. I highly recommend it!"

  • "I am always looking for a good restaurant near the Pantages and I finally found one! This was a fantastic place! Great food, not pricey, and very friendly. I cant wait to go back!"

  • "We had reservations at 6:30 and didn't get there till 7:00 due to heavy traffic. We also had 8:00 show tickets to see a musical at The Pantages. They got us in and out (drinks, bread, salads, and entrees) without ever feeling rushed. I even asked that they call us a cab (even though the theatre is super close) because it was really windy and cold, and we were clearly on a tight schedule. The cab arrived just as I signed the check and we were dropped off at the entrance to the theatre for less than $5. Perfect timing on everything and the food and service is fantastic!!!"

  • "Go there before your play at the Pantages or after a film at Arc Light. Lovely Ambiance, great food. Fit for vegans and veggie lovers."

  • "We were seated to a table immediately... few diners no waiting even though it was suggested that we pre order before our late arrival. First dining experience, bread and water came quickly then salad. Then we waited for our entree, and waited...noticed that our entree was served to another table. During our meal the waiters were attentive in filling our water glasses. We patiently waited for our bill, and we waited again for a box to take one of our remaining entrees with us."

  • "Wonderful food and service. And it's location a block from the Pantages Theater makes it a great place for dinner before a show. You can park at the restaurant and walk to the theater."

  • "After reading previous reviews we expected a bit more from the food but the quality was low for the price. The gnocchi was chewy and my wife's risotto was just so-so. There are several seating areas at the restaurant. The back section seems the more lively and with the better atmosphere. We were seated in the front which seemed more like an old diner. Too bright and no real soul. The restaurant also had internet issues so there were a lot of problems with processing credit cards. On the positive side, this restaurant is convenient to the Pantages and they will allow you to leave your car in the valet lot during the show. Not bad for $10 and the theater is a quick 2 block walk away. We probably won't be coming back."

  • "Best pasta my wife and I have had since we were last in Italy. The Tagliatelle Bolognese is EXACTLY like what you would get in Bologna, with perfectly al dente pasta and incredibly flavorful meat sauce. The owner, Fabio, is from Verona and has several Veronese dishes on the menu. He's a really nice guy who sincerely cares about his customers' experience. He's the one that delivers the dishes to the table, and it's clear that he's proud of what he's created. The restaurant is only a few blocks from the Pantages Theater and is a perfect place for a meal before or after a performance. Ask for Angel as a server; she's excellent."

  • "Packed when we got there, but were seated immediately -- on one of the "patios." Service was prompt & we enjoyed wine with appetizers. Hubby's seafood pasta -steaming and delicious. My Pollo Dijon - lukewarm and sides were COLD. Sent back & had a glass of wine while I waited (awhile). Finally, dish arrives -- sides - HOT, chicken barely warm. By this time hubby is nearly finished so we just sent it back and said to take it off the bill. As we were leaving owner asked how things were so we told him. He apologized and said our server had told him what had happened. Promised our next visit would be perfect. That's it. Nothing comped. No business card to ensure perfect "next visit." Doubt we'll be back. Should have comped the glass of wine. :("

  • "Great for a meal before or after a show at the Pantages. Don't let the external curb appearance fool you--this place is a gem!"

  • "We had dinner here prior to attending the Pantages Theater. It was a great choice. Although we were a little late for our reservation, they made sure we were served promptly and had plenty of time to get to the theater. And the food was lovely. We were a party of 4, and each person ordered something different. The portions were generous, and all 4 of us enjoyed the choices we made. We will definitely be back!"

  • "I would go here again next time I'm going to the pantages. Very good service. Nice atmosphere. Food was good and resonably priced. Only complaint was chicken was not right. I don't know how to explain...it was not of a proper consistency. It was icky. Nice to have valet parking there for 10 dollars and then walk the 3 blocks or so."

  • "We've been to this place several times -- always before seeing a show at the Pantages. The food is average, but reliable, and there are pizzas and pastas that appeal to my picky eaters. If my husband and I are going to the theater without the kids we much prefer Delphine."

  • "Went to Fabiolus before seeing a show at the Pantages. The location is perfect and the food was great....had a salad and gnocchi with a four cheese sauce. Both were excellent. The waiter was wonderful....friendly, efficient and helpful. We will definitely go back."

  • "Selected Fabiolus Cucina for a pre-theater dinner based on reviews, proximity to theater, and their gluten free menu selections. One member of our party needs to order gluten free due to a medical condition. She loved the vast selection of menu items, especially the pasta. Salmon with vegetables was delicious as was the gnocchi with Italian sausage. The only down side of our visit was not being told the specials by our waiter. He also forgot what one person ordered for a drink before dinner, thought she ordered a Sauvignon Blanc when in fact she order a Cosmopolitan. Service was quick and we easily made it to the theater on time. Would recommended this restaurant."

  • "This was a perfect place to eat before watching a matinee performance at the Pantages. Great menu choices. Many healthy options! Went with a friend and 2 seven year olds. Great choices for kids off kids menu. My friend is gluten free and she had so much to choose from. I have no diet restrictions and I had lots to choose from. The restaurant is within walking distance to the Pantages. Service was excellent. Staff was courteous. This was a pleasant surprise of a find for us."

  • "We are not familiar with the Hollywood area, so I used Yelp and Open Table to help us find a suitable restaurant before seeing Lion King at the Pantages. Fabiolus Cucina was perfect for our family of three. We found parking behind the restaurant in their lot, and was seated at a nice table by the window, even though we were a little early for our reservation. The food was very good. Portions adequate. I had the butternut squash ravioli in brown butter and it was delicious! The restaurant is only 2 blocks from the theater, easy walking distance, but we had a parking pass for the theater so chose to move the car anyway. Host and server were very nice."

  • "Great outdoor space, especially for in Hollywood! Great tapenade spread with bread. Nice beer menu as well. Tried the vodka pasta, delicious. Also had the prosciutto panini, which was wonderfully salty!"

  • "The dining experience was ok. Not bad but not exceptional either. The staff was hard working and the owner was very pleasant and checked on our table. I recommend trying the flour less chocolate cake. I'm not big on chocolate but my table shared this. This dessert was delicious. It was light and fluffy. I would order my own next time. Good job chef."

  • "I love Italian food, love it. We went here before a show at the pantages and four of us had dinner. The server was great, but the food was barely passable. I wouldn't bother eating here. There are much better options in the area."

  • "My husband and I live in Orange County but were going to the Pantages for a play. We found Fabiolus Cucina through Yelp and were glad that we did. Our food was delicious. The service was outstanding (which is actually more important to us than the food)We enjoyed the Calamari as a starter. I had the Sole and my husband enjoyed his Chicken Parm - with fries (which he wasn't expecting but loved!). We enjoyed Tiramisu for dessert and were off to the Pantages. I would recommend to a friend."

  • "Although it was Thanksgiving night and we were traveling, we decided on Italian. This is a small family restaurant. Only one other table when we walked in but had gotten much busier when we were leaving. We decided on a cheese pizza and the penne ala vodka sauce. I asked about thin pizza and that's exactly what we got. It was made with a different kind of flour and was almost too thin, but enjoyable. I thought the penne could have been cooked a little more but enjoyed the sauce. My husband thought it was missing something, but couldn't pinpoint it. Not sure we would return next time in area. Too many other places to choose from."

  • "My husband and I were both very busy with professional obligations this Thanksgiving and didn't want to make an undue fuss of the holiday. We also did not want to dine on turkey, which we enjoy periodically all year long. Fabiolus Cucina was the perfect spot: no turkey but lots of excellent Italian food served with brio and good cheer. It helped us get through this family-oriented holiday without too much regret."
