My friend recommended this place but it had been a few years since she had been. The bread was not the artisan loaf previously served or pictured on the website - looked like a standard sourdough loaf. The Caesar salad dressing had no flavor at all very bland. The pasta was good. My friend had the tagliatelle alla bolognese and I had the gemelli. The Gemelli was a bit oily but overall the taste was good. Desert was excellent - ricotta cheesecake - it saved the overall experience. I am not from the area but I do eat in Hollywood after plays and I don't think I will be back - bread and salad were the biggest disappointments. Our server was excellent though!

6 ladies were out to see a show. A friend suggested the restaurant. We arrived for a 5 pm. reservation and had enought time to feast on 3 bottles of wine and great Italian food. The staff of waiters are all experienced and made the meal a success. We will spread the word. Wonderful out door yard.

Food very tasty. Service lacking; didn't refill drinks or ask for coffee and dessert. Looked like they were too busy to properly take care of their customers. Menu pricing for substitutions a little onerous. Still a great place; need to focus more on service consistently.

We ate here before a play. The service was good, we arrived early and it was not crowded at 6:15 but was crowded by about 7:00. The olive tapenade w/bread offered was delicous. The pizza special was also good w/ pesto sauce and prosciutoo, as was the special soup which was chicken kale and potatoes (this was our favorite item). Unfortunately the dinner entrees were just OK, I had rosemary chicken which was bland and covered in a sauce that tasted like it had fake lemon, my friends salmon entree was just OK too, if I were to go again would stick to the pizza and starters. Also, they did not record that I had used my reservation so open table showed me as a no show and had to correct that.

Must have cuaght them on a bad night. We arrived around 6 :15 for dinner before an 8 pm show . Our main couse arrived at 7:25.Service was slow and inattentive, perhaps too few servers. Ordered the specials. They were flops- Salmon was overcooked and my pasta was much too salty. The wine was the best offering.

They've remodeled their site so it has a much improved ambience. Pasta is always good. They will even fix your pasta in whatever way you want (switching sauces or meats). Risotto is another good choice. Desserts were disappointing but always our go to place before a show.

I recently moved to the area and noticed the restaurant while walking in the neighbourhood, decided to go try it the other night. We got a table outside, the place was busy when we got there and got quiet later - I think a lot of the customers go before the theater. Service was prompt and the menu has lots of choices; we had a few different dishes, all came out in a timely manner and cooked well. The portions are generous and because the dishes are quite rich, it is easy to feel 'stuffed'. A positive experience, good example of the cuisine from the Veneto region; I wish they had a few REALLY typical plates that are so hard to find in Italian restaurants outside of Italy (although I imagine most people would not know them/"get" them).

Fabiolus is a quaint little restaurant located close Hollywood & Vine. We ate there before a show at the Pantages since it was a short 2 block walk to the theater. The restaurant has a nice open atmosphere and there is plenty of seating. The prices for the various dishes are excellent for the area. The food on the other had was lacking. The best item we had that night was the Caesar salad. I ordered Dijon chicken and received soggy parmesan chicken. The vegetables were undercooked and garlic heavy. My wife's risotto was pretty much tasteless mush. A little salt and more care in cooking would go a long way.

Service was very slow. Took over 45 min to get our food after we ordered. We sat at our table at 630, ordered at 640. We didn't get our food until 725, which made us rush our dinner cause we had an 800 show at the Pantages. Also we had to ask for our waters to be refilled. For a nice restaurant we shouldn't have to do that.

We had reservations for 8pm, and when we arrived we loved that this place was not crazy busy and did not have super loud music on. We got our pick of tables out on the patio and it was wonderful to be able to sit and TALK for our 2 hour dinner and dessert - no stress at all. Food was tasty. Service was good and we were able to relax after a long drive for a late in the evening show. This usually does not always happen on a Saturday night! We will be here again for sure!

It's such a shame, the ambiance in the al fresco dining room is perfect, intimate and romantic. I live in Hollywood, and I'm always on the lookout for a decent local restaurant. I was excited to try Fabiolus. Alas, the food wasn't up to scratch. It felt like a chain restaurant, and I'm sorry, but when an Italian restaurant delivers pasta that's not al dente? Well, it's just not good enough. Also the risotto was bland, with far too much cubed dry chicken (a sure sign a breast had been cooked earlier, and then reheated). That said, when I complained the waiter took it off the bill. Overall the food was low on flavor and inauthentic.

My friends and I spent two and half wonderful hours dining at Fabiolus, and enjoyed every minute of it. The owner, Fabio came over twice to say hello, the waiters were attentive and the food was amazing. From the Calamari to Halibut and pesto pasta specials, we enjoyed every bite, not to mention the bread and wine. Some of us did have mixed drinks, since they have full bar. The patio was the perfect setting on a cool summer's evening. A memorable and fun night. Also a short walk to nearby clubs and the theater. Will definitely be back.

Ate there before going to a play at the Pantages. They valet your car for $10, then you can walk up to the theater. You need to be an average walker with comfortable shoes. The food was very good, we started with the burrata, generous ball of soft tasty mozzarella cheese atop a halved roma tomato proportioned well, slightly more tomato than cheese but seasoned deliciously. We both had a pasta dish, the gnocchi was the better of the two, nice puffy and delicate. I had the special of the evening, orecchiette with sausage. They use kamut pasta which I hoped I would like, but it has a grainy mouth texture and lacks flavor. The wait staff were great although the lull between appetizer and entree was a little italian, lol.

What used to be a better experience seems to have slowly declined. The latest renovation enlarged the outdoor patio seating which is lovely. But the quality and value of the food is meh, at best, and has declined from prior visits. The menu is largely the same, but the food just is not keeping pace with the price or prior quality. Just one example, "Oven roasted potatoes" on the menu and the specials board were deep fried thick cut french fries...and I'd guess frozen ones at that.

We have have found some excellent dining establishments in the Pantages Theater neighborhood, unfortunately however, Fabiolus Cucina is not one of them. The service is punctual and friendly, the outdoor atmosphere is fine, and noise was not a problem. But the food was disappointing. My wife's Rosemary Chicken was tough and overly-sauced, with little rosemary nuance. My Dijon Chicken was equally overwhelmed in a cream-heavy, mustard-light sauce. The mixed vegetables, lacking the desired firmness, turned into a soggy potpourri…mixed reviews concerning the roasted potatoes…thumbs up for her and thumbs down from me. We have decided, however, to give Fabiolus another sporting-chance sometime…perhaps try their pasta dishes instead.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2006
    Dined on 6/26/2014
This is my favorite restaurant in Hollywood. Delicious, fresh pizza and pasta, always cooked perfectly. They've been running a special where you get a specialty chicken, pasta and salad all on one plate for $12. The chicken could be cooked better, but the pasta and salad are always great. It was my birthday, so as a member of their email list, I got an offer for $20 off or 10% off (whichever is greater), so had a nice birthday dinner with friends and got $20 off. The staff was great and treated me to a dessert and song (even if it was against my will :) When hitting a movie at the Arclight, food options are not many in the area. Tender Greens gets chaotic and old, so Fabiolus is a great alternative, just leave yourself plenty of time.
