  • "Food was better than I expected. Cocktails were amazing. Service was a little slow. Possibly bc it was in between lunch and dinner. But when server was attentive they were on the mark. Just took awhile to get to the table. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I'm a chef so my expectations are usually pretty low with most restaurants north the city. I would return."

  • "The room is nice, the location convienent, the brunch menu interesting and the food prepared well. We sat in a 25% full room but still had to wait 15 minutes for a server to show up. Our guy was consistently inattentive througout, Two of our four orders were incorrect when presented and coffee cups remained un-refilled until we traced him down. As this was our initial visit to Fabbrica, the experience may not be representative but still, we were eating with friends we had not seen in over a year and the need to constantly manage the various bits and pieces of our brunch diminished our reunion experience. We may or may not have another try."

  • "Initial service was absolutely atrocious. We showed up at our designated reservation time and were promptly seated. We then sat there for over twenty minutes without acknowledgment from any of the 5 wait staff who appeared to be out for their evening stroll. The restaurant was not busy, nor were the staff, so I am at a loss to explain our treatment. Olive starter was delicious, but all other dishes, e.g., meatballs, pasta, pizza and deserts were quite ordinary. Definitely not worth the price."

  • "Service very nice. Took business associate out for lunch. Not so greats: - initally served wrong appetizer, correct appetizer quickly followed though so no big deal - asked for salad with dressing on side, was served with dressing, I did not have time at lunch to wait for correction so ate as is - my dessert was delicious but rice pudding dessert ordered by my guest was not good. She unfortunately was not able to eat it at all - americano was quite bitter - expected a better experience from Fabricca. This was third visit. 1st visit excellent. 2nd and 3rd visit, mediocre."

  • "We had a wonderful experience when we visited the first time. We were disappointed this week. We took friends to introduce them to Fabbrica. It's a good place to meet. We had reservations for an early dinner. Expecting a busy Wednesday evening later, they weren't very organized at the door. The seating in some areas is crowded; not meant for conversation. (We now know the life trials of a gentleman stranger sitting next to us, who was depressing his dinner mate.) My husband recommended the steak he'd experienced in February. This time he found it to be mediocre. The other food was fine. At the end of the meal, the coffee came cold and very bitter. All of the waiters and waitresses were energetic, helpful and attentive."

  • "as we were early for our reservation, we ordered a half litre of wine at the bar. The bartender spilled wine when pouring, on both occasions. he was however the friendliest staff member of the evening our waitress was quite unapproachable. No smiles to be found on any staff members faces! when booking on open table, I asked not to be seated near an entrance or the kitchen. They sat us at the entrance to the room .they brought a chair that was basically falling apart. Thankfully I noticed that before I sat down and asked a different waiter to change the rickety old chair. as for the food,they had to make my pizza second time as i askd for light sauce and was served a pizza drowning in sauce. quinoa salad was small for the price point"

  • "Fabbrica has not disappointed me on even one of four occasions that I have dined there. The staff are very attentive and management is a constant presence. Your every whim is catered to with even the slightest problem being fixed to your satisfaction. I have enjoyed every meal that I have tried including brunch, lunch and dinner options. Mark McEwan has hit all the right notes with this spot. I'm a fan and will continue to dine there regularly!"

  • "I went on a first meeting with a friend at this location on a referral. The service was friendly, the food was quite good. We had the pizza as a starter, this could be too much even for 2. Better as a meal. However the main courses were very good - Risotto for one of us and Swordfish for myself. I was impressed with the freshness, but equally the helpfulness and patience of our server. Good spot."

  • "Last time I was happy with Fabrica with its food and services in the past but certainly not this time. When the Shortrib hash came, there were barely any meat in it but 2 small pieces.I told he waiter immediately to tell the kitchen it was not acceptable and I did not eat any food off the plate The manager came and I repeated myself my complaint. He asked if I wanted more meat and I said sure. Then he told me all the ingredients were weighed so I confronted him if the incredibly small amount of short ribs a normal case. He never answered my question and he never took it to the kitchen. The manager totally ignored me after. He chatted with some patrons (regular) all the time we were there. Services other than handling my complaint were good."

  • "I took my team for lunch Tuesday. We arrived and were settled at our table within 5 minutes of our res. I noted that there were only 5 other tables (not bustling by any stretch). We sat for a long time before our drink order was taken; I jumped to order two apps for the table. Another long set before drinks/apps arrived. Then we sat....it took over an hour for 5 meals to come. In fact, at 1:10, I asked the waiter if things were coming soon. "Any minute" was the reply. Three of us had the same item, one a salad and another a sandwich. In the end, it was a 2 hour lunch (without dessert or coffee). McEwen's group missed the mark on timeliness and service. I wouldn't go back unless I had ample time to wait (you are on their clock)."

  • "Been to Fabrica a few times for Brunch and it managed to provide Great service and Great Food. It takes no time for the Salumi to arrive. My only complain is that there could be more pickled vegetable. Pizza is consistently great and I love their Pancakes, they are lemonly and fluffly and almost worth the drive to midtown all by themselves. All in all, great experiences."

  • "We went as a foursome on February 17th. It seemed that the restaurant was out of the appetizers and entree's that we hoped to order. The Swordfish was a bit too spicy and the chicken was over cooked. The ravioli however was fabulous. When it came time for dessert, only one dessert was brought out even though we ordered two. Having said all of this, the service was great, and I would certainly give the restaurant another try."

  • "We dined at Fabbrica on February 16, 2014 and it was a great experience on all levels. We made our reservation online at the last minute and arrived to find our table available with no wait. I ordered the ricotta gnocchi and my date order the special which was porchetta. Both dishes were delicious, portion size was abundundant, and service was on point all night. When it came to ordering dessert there was something that I was in the mood that was not on the menu. Having grown up in the restuarant business I know that it never hurts to ask. The waiter never missed a beat. When I asked him for an affogato he knew exactly what it was and said it would be no problem. We will happily dine here again!"

  • "Fabbrica was an excellent dining experience for both myself and my wife. The service was excellent - efficient and quick removal of finished plates, without being intrusive into our conversation. The food was delicious - I finished my lamb loin dinner in about 2 minutes!! The Fritelle di banana desert was pure excellence - not too sweet - just perfect. The ambience was perfect too - background music being just that - in the background; the lighting level; romantic and intimate, yet at a level where one can still read the menu! Absolutely loved it there."

  • "Being a Restaurant of a well known Chef we were expecting much more. The food was ok and ok only, nothing extraordinary. We know the norm for tip, which is 10% over the total or 15% over the price without taxes. The prices go with the name of the place but overall expensive. After we left the tip (15% overall!) the waiter didn't seem to like it! We won't come back and will not recommend it."

  • "I thought the food and service were excellent....I've never seen a waiter offer to give a taste of wines before deciding which one to order, and that was just for one glass! The food was a little different, not your typical Italian fare, but extremely tasty and enjoyable. We were there for Winterlicious so the main course portions were smaller than the portions from the regular menu but the appetizers and desserts that we had were the same sizes. In my opinion, the only negative about this restaurant is the way they squeeze in too many tables, there is the feeling of the tables being one on top of the other. Overall, very enjoyable meal and I would go back there."

  • "I had the best beef carpaccio I've ever had at Fabbrica during Winterlicious! Followed by a sublime butternut squash risotto with pancetta, which paired well with the Bertioli Italian pinot grigio! The wonderful end to the meal was a Pavlova with passion fruit and strawberries! Another wonderful revelation was the fabulous Italian pizza oven and leaning that pizzas are available for takeout!"

  • "We have eaten here several times. The food is good but, because the menu is not seasonal, be careful when ordering. The buffalo mozzarella salad was marginal with out of season tomatoes. Stick to items on the menu without seasonality."

  • "I had such a fabulous dinner with my good friend at this spot. I don't know why i hadn't heard of this place before! We went there for the Winterlicious menu and the food was just so fantastic. The garlic soup I had was so rich! And ravioli was one of the best I've ever had. The ambiance and food were truly breathtaking. Although this restaurant is quite pricey for a student like me, it's definitely a place I would return to for a romantic date or a special occasion. Such a great wine selection too!"

  • "This was our second time at Fabbrica and we were as pleased with the quality and quantity of the dishes as on our first visit, last September. My chief complaint when we eat out is that food isn't always served steaming hot; but each dish, from the garlic soup to our ravioli with roasted mushrooms and lamb bolognese were piping hot and freshly prepared. The quantities were generous and service was attentive and friendly. We would certainly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to return and try their pizza."
