Diner Reviews
  • "Have dined here a few times and found it great. Few nights ago they were not at the top of their game. Gave us 2 lunch and 2 dinner menus. One glass of wine was BAD- Manager only had to smell it to know it was bad. Lame comment that screw tops don't last as long- it's F&B responsibility to serve good wine and they should test their wines before they start serving for the night. Disappointing start- the food was excellent. Server was well meaning, not crisp."

  • "I have been a fan since their Brasserie Le Coze days at Lenox Square. I adored FAB downtown, but it was a long way to venture for dinner, so I was thrilled to hear that they are back in Buckhead where they belong. The Skate Wing is as perfect as I remember from back in the 70's. I so love that they haven't messed with that classic recipe. Their food is so fresh and delicately flavorful they don't have to resort to covering up poor quality with heavy pepper and onions, as too many French restos do. The decor is wonderful, and the big wooden beams help with the acoustics, but the music is too loud, which forces people to shout, which increases the decibel level exponentially. There is a huge window to all the action in the kitchen."

  • "Every dish here is a step up from the standard Parisian Bistro. Service is spot on, menu is innovated plus loaded with old standbys, and potions are large. We enjoyed the coq au vin and the skate wing mains after sharing delicious mussels. Paired with our server's suggested wines by the glass, our meal could not have been more enjoyable."

  • "Really enjoy F&B. Highly recommend mussels and Tagliatelle. Paula provided exceptional service. Its a "go-to" for a regular night out as well sharing with out of town friends."

  • "My husband and I regularly go and sit at the bar and eat and drink. I love the bartender-his name is Randy. We also have taken groups of friends to fine there and the service and food is consistentally excellent."

  • "Me and the significant other had lunch at the bar while watching a world Cup game. It was perfect. My rib-eye was perfect, my drink was perfect, the soup was perfect. I really like F&B, it has been a great experience every time we've dined there. Also a great bar for sports watching."

  • "Previous generations of this restaurant had better food and a more authentic French bistro decor. Food was good, not great. Service was good not great. Bar service was excellent. Good wine list with some very fair prices. Not too noisy. Overall: You can find a better value for $100 per person (two and a half courses and two drinks)."

  • "We loved this place! We were greeted by a lovely hostess when we walked in. The service was great and the food was delicious and unique! Everything was so fresh! It stood out among the other restaurants I go to. I would highly recommend this place!"

  • "Great food, great service and awesome location. I had the Rabbit and my Fiance had the Halibut. They were a bit heavy on the butter, but what do you expect with a French style restaurant. The Escargot was GREAT! Best in Atlanta in my humble opinion."

  • "Enjoyed dinner here with my wife and friends on a Saturday night. It lived up to its reputation as a fine French Restaurant. I really enjoyed the Coq Au Vin and my wife had the duck which she loved. The cheese plate and soups were wonderful as appetizers and the vegetables were outstanding. Wine was very good. Our waiter was fine - no real French food or wine expert but was attentive and fairly knowledgeable. I recommend F&B and suggest you give it a try. We will return."

  • "I had the liver pate and chicken mousse as one of my appetizers and it was absolutely delicious. I love the environment here and it was definitely a must visit at least once. It is not too upscale and stuffy, but not too casual either. "

  • "Saturday is not the night to be at F&B...too much activity...not enough attention to being a quality restaurant. "

  • "I went here with a friend for Buckhead restaurant week and we truly enjoyed our time. I had the pate, steak and frites and belgium waffle. My date had the wedge salad, skate and gelato. We were able to sit outside on their patio. It was a solid buckhead restaurant."

  • "The restaurant was full so that the noise level was higher than usual. The food was excellent, and it is a comfortable restaurant."
    Dined on 5/24/2014
  • "Tried the place because of Buckhead Restaurant Week - will definitely find a time to go back! Creative dishes, some of them old family recipes of the executive chef; great service. Obviously a place that cares a great deal about diner satisfaction in every way."

  • "Love the food and setting. Service was slow and server was forgetful. The server then tried to overcompensate by being too friendly. Kept asking questions when we were trying to enjoy our alone time."

  • "I had high hopes for this restaurant, but was sorely disappointed. The food was average, at best – on par with Applebee's or Buffalo Wild Wings; not Buckhead Restaurant Week level. While the employees were friendly, service was worst I've experienced in years. Server took our order, and never came back for drink order; then he forgot about us until two courses later. He refilled our water glasses after they'd been empty for 5 min, and brought dessert coffee 15 minutes after we ordered it, LONG after we'd finished dessert. I took advantage of the BRW menu, but there's no way I would pay $50+ for the meal I had. Drink menu looked great & creative, but we never had the opportunity to order. "

  • "Pleasantly surprised by ambiance, food and cocktails. Disappointed in service--slow, couldn't answer questions about food and drinks, kept forgetting that we'd asked for cream...but may have been due to overcrowding during restaurant week. Will give it one more shot. "

  • "Loved this place, especially because it has kept some of the wonderful original menu items from the old Brasserie at Lenox. All courses on the Restaurant Week menu were full size and outstanding. We will definitely add F&B to our neighborhood dining list."

  • "Food was great! We got the Beef tartare for an app and both ordered rabbit (I asked for mine over farro instead of mashed potatoes). It was fantastic! The server was kind of weird but other than that, we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Will be back in a heartbeat"

  • "This was one of the best dinners I've had in a while. We had reservations on a Thursday evening and were promptly seated. The server was very warm and welcoming and brought us waters. Another person came by with fresh, warm rolls. We ordered the Mozzarella Burrata: the tomatoes were peeled (which was nice), the cheese was wonderful and the arugula was perfectly dressed. Along with the Burrata we had the beef tenderloin tartare. I'm not a huge capers person, but this was the best beef tartare I've ever had. Lastly we had a the lamb duo - delicious and perfectly cooked. Side of white asparagus. Bouchaine Carneros Pinot Noir was nice with dinner. "

  • "I knew that this was authentic French cuisine when I noticed sweetbreads on the menu, an item very few restaurants offer. The food was delicious and portion sizes perfect. We had a very attentive waiter, since my husband mentioned it was my birthday they surprised me with a lovely chocolate soufflé cake. I am looking forward to my next visit to try the mussels and lamb duo!"

  • "F&B is wonderful. We frequently dine there and we have never been disappointed. We always leave talking about the great dining experience. We feel F&B is the best restaurant in the Atlanta area, hands down. Everything works seamlessly . The interior is so charming and warm, the food is always delicious and the prices reasonable. Very good wine list and the service is attentive and top notch. A first class establishment. "

  • "Our server, Rashid M, seemed disinterested in us. His service was poor ... that is, slow and blasé. "

  • "Overall, a good (not great) experience. The skate (which is a staple of the F&B past) was flavorless, although the scallops were delicious. The remainder of our choices (lamb risotto, sea bass) were good, but again, not great. Our server was very nice and attentive, and to his credit, recommeded the other fish dishes over the skate. I may give it another try, but with fierce competition from Atlanta restuaurants, it needs to impove to get my return business."

  • "Quite a find with an easy to get in and out of locale on P'tree. The food is fabulous and a step above most French bistro type places in town. Run by true professionals who know how to deliver quality and at quite reasonable prices."

  • "Had the mussels mariniere which were very small but delicious in a tasty broth. Both the escargot and Skate were tasteless without sufficient butter spicing. No garlic taste at all in the escargot -- only parsleyed butter. Skate was cooked perfectly but bland."

  • "I normally love F&B's mussles. They offer them prepared with four differnt options for sauce, all tantilizing. This time, however, I was a bitdisappointed in the mariniere version, which contained way too much garlic, as did the wonderful Belgium style French fries. Good mussels do not need so much garlic."

  • "Loved the casual atmosphere but only drawback is the noise. Food was fabulous. Did have to season with salt but much better than having your food too salty to start with. My husband had the escargot and loved it. My halibut was ecellent"

  • "This was a disappointing trip to F & B. Having seen the website, I had expected the place to be much better than it was. The website gives a really neat vibe, and while the restaurant design itself was cool and trendy, and the food tasted good, the food was very small in portion size and the service was sporadic. We had to wait for our waiter a lot. Our waiter disappeared for some long stretches of time -- and this meant I had to wait to have my salmon taken back to get recooked because it was very raw. It was just not worth the high cost of the food."

  • "We had a great dinner with wonderful service at F&B. The French flair in their menu adds a pleasant change from the normal flair. We will definitely dine there again!"

  • "Received all my requests when making our reservation! Many thanks for a lovely and so tasty meal of lobster bisque soup and the duck entrée! This all followed with the Belgian waffle dessert with a café latte! Definitely a foodie delight!"

  • "I was hoping for some improvement since my last visit in June 2013, but alas, both the food and the service was sub-standard again in March 2014. We arrived early and while we had the restaurant to ourselves, everything was fine. Once the very smal place was filled, our waiter was nowhere to be found. On my first visit, I ordered the skate, which is a favorite dish of mine, and it was over cooked and chewy. This visit I ordered the lamb. The sever didn't ask how I wanted it prepared, so it came out very rare, after sending it back, it came out medium, which is just how I like it, but was very bland. Even with the sauce it was nearly tasteless. For $28 a plate, I expect the main dish to be, at least, satisfying. I won't return to F n B."

  • "This was our first visit to F&B. EVERYTHING was under seasoned and had no flavor, including the butter, the white bean soup, the french fries and the burger. The steak tartare was rubbery. My wife's fish was undercooked. The kitchen, rather than sending out a new piece of fish, cooked and sent back out the same piece of fish. A good restaurant would send out a fresh entree. Very good atmosphere, very lively and energetic. Not impressed at all and won't be back."

  • "After reading mixed reviews - we decided to try F&B since all 4 of us were big fans of Brasserie Le Coz- We are 4 adults in our 50's - avid travelers to France and consider ourselves to be "foodies". We felt ; the drinks were great, martinis and manhattans, the tartar was excellent and the mussels were some of the best I have ever had. My only complaints would be they ran out of Skate (a signature dish) at 7:30 - and the service was slow- and by that I mean it took the waiter awhile to come over and take our drink order, and we don't remember him checking on us during the meal. Other than that, all the food we ordered was delicious."
