Dupont Circle Metro (Red line)
A word from Ezme
The story of this intimate Turkish tapas and wine bar began ten years ago when the Bolukbasi brothers opened Mezè in Adams Morgan. Shortly after its opening Mezè became a neighborhood favorite as a spot for authentic Turkish cuisine and lively entrainment. Mezè’s success and loyal customers
inspired the Bolukbasi brothers to open a new venture in the Capital city.
The answer was not too far from Mezè in Dupont Circle. Dupont has always been an area focused on food, friendly atmosphere and healthier living. At Ezmè, our customers will taste this combined experience one bite at a time.

Took mom her for her birthday. We
all had the tasting menu including the wine tasting. It was great. PLENTY of food (we were all stuffed after). I highly recommend giving Esme a try."

We had a very nice dinner. The
menu had lots of options for vegans and vegetarians."

This was my first visit- I was
prompted to select Ezme over other neighborhood restaurants due to the consistently strong reviews I found both on OpenTable and on Yelp. I was not disappointed! In fact, I was impressed with the ease and professionalism that they handled my request to adjust my reservation last minute from 2 to 3 people despite how busy the restaurant was at that time. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the food and all agreed it was great value for the quality. I'll be back!"

Tried a wide variety of the small
plates. Every dish was delicious. Our server was helpful and friendly. Will definitely return on my next trip to DC."

I brought a group of business
associates to Ezme. Two had never had what would be considered to be Turkish food. We all thoroughly enjoyed it! The service was attentive but not cloying, room was quiet enough to have a very good conversation. The wine was reasonably priced and very enjoyable. But the food was spectacular. We ordered the family tasting menu, which proved to be an excellent choice for all of us. In the end, we were satisfied but not stuffed. And, our palates were very happy."

Great find with very friendly
staff and a great menu. I found it hard to narrow my choices because I wanted to try everything. And the bread was delicious!"

Overall, we were all very pleased
with our choice of dishes and the quality of the food was of a high standard"

This place was really great; the
food was amazing, the atmosphere was really chill but still fun and lively, and the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend it!"

I really enjoyed my meal. My
boyfriend and I shared and while there were a few dishes that were lacking, I enjoyed the meal and would go again for a special occasion."

Went for restaurant week. Tapas,
but didn't leave hungry. Everything I had was great, and a fabulous wine selection. It was girls night out and everyone enjoyed it! I'd go back."
Dined on 1/16/2014
I went with a group for the
restaurant week menu, which was comprised of courses available on their menu. The food was all absolutely delicious. Everyone at my table loved their meal and walked out pretty full. (The only exception was that the babaghanoush was a little disappointing.) I would highly recommend Ezme, with the caveat that it's not the best value for restaurant week, seeing as you could get a similar meal for about $35 there any time."

Smaller portons reasonably
priced. A nice wine list. Great ambiance."

Someone in the neighborhood
recommended this. They just opened last March. Delicious food, charming server, interesting wine list from Turkey, small plates for sharing. Will be one of our go tos."

We come here often. Service is
friendly and food is excellent."

food, ambiance and service."

Could talk & hear! Friendly fast,
but not rushed, service."
Dined on 12/19/2013
It was our first visit to Ezme. It
was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was so tranquil we didn't have to raise our voices to be heard. The service was attentive and the wait staff helpful without being pushy.. Having previously visited Turkey and being familiar with Turkish/Balkan fare, we were pleased with our experience. The grilled baby octopus, not something I usually order, was tender and tasty. The bread which came with our tapas-sized entrees was addicting, and I threw my concern for carbs to the wind. The Iskendar kabob, thinly sliced lamb and beef topped with a taste-but tingling sauce over homemade Turkish bread was filling enough to be shared by two."
Dined on 12/15/2013
The title sums it up. This is
really a great restaurant--the food is well-prepared and authentic, the service is good, and the choice of alcoholic beverages includes some hard-to-find Turkish liquors--but it is rather pricey. That said, that probably describes most decent restaurants in the Dupont Circle area, so that doesn't come as a surprise."

My wife and I love tapas and this
was an unexpectedly delicious meal with a twist on traditional tapas. the waitress guided us through her favorites on the menu and the food was perfect. she also suggested a perfectly paired Turkish wine that we'd never had before and it paired perfectly. We will definitely be back."
Dined on 12/1/2013
We loved the food and the
ambience. It was quiet and relaxing and our waitress did not rush us. We shared plenty of small plates and the entire meal was well-paced. The food was light and delicious as well. Overall, a treat!"

On a recent visit to DC, we found
Ezme, a terrific Turkish restaurant, in the Dupont Circle area. We had a chance to try many dishes we hadn't experienced before off a very interesting menu, and loved every single one! The small plates approach allowed us to try a number of dishes, a real plus. Most servings were enough for the two of us. Our server, a lovely young woman, made suggestions and we took them and were glad we did. They have an amazing dessert made from shredded wheat that was baked with a sweet cheese mixture and topped with a lemon sauce - wish we could have it for dessert every night! We heartily recommend trying Ezme - you won't be disappointed. We even tried two types of Turkish wine and enjoyed them as well."

I love Ezme. The food is always
fresh and delicious, and the service is warm and friendly. Very conveniently located just off Dupont Circle. The grilled haloumi is wonderful."

They have changed their menu and
their prices have really gone up!"

Lively Turkish restaurant serving
small plates of deliciously subtly spiced/sesoned food of a wide variety. If you have never had Turkish food before, this is a good place to try a number of dishes. The wine list is good. They offer flights of whites and reds as well as half carafes of Eastern Mediterranean wines with reasonable prices. There is something for all tastes and dietary preferences. The desserts are housemade and very tasty as well!"

Oneof the best restaurants we ate
at during our vacation."

Perfect for small plate healthy
and excellent food. We were referred hear by locals and were not disappointed. Our server "Mahir" was most informative and patiently helped in our choices of food and wine. Reasonably priced an oh so delicious."

Small plates, good food, attentive
service, not expensive. Great little date place. The chicken was a favorite, the steak with gruyere was nice, also liked the dough stuffed with feta. Would go back for sure."

Tried Ezme on a whim because it
was convenient. The food was very tasty. Not much of a crowd at lunch so it was easy to have a conversation with my friend. Friendly, competent service."

Ezme serves great Turkish food. It
offers a wide selection of dishes from all across the country. They are prepared very well and very close to authentic. The service is quick and friendly."
Dined on 9/23/2013
Had a terrific lunch with a
friend. Got the four-course special menu for $18. Good amount of food, but not so much I felt uncomfortably full after 4 courses. Everything was delicious!"
Dined on 9/16/2013
If you like authentic Turkish meze
and want to go somewhere that clearly shows you care, Ezme is a great choice. My favorite dish in the world is hünkar beğendi and they do it very well. Also you have to try their mucver. It's the best."
Dined on 9/12/2013
I was there with 3 friends for
early Sunday dinner, and for a while we were the only ones there, so we enjoyed the special attention and did not feel rushed at all. (More people came later.) I liked being able to order several small plates to share, thus having the chance to try a lot of different things. I liked everything we ordered."
Dined on 9/9/2013
A wonderful sampling of Turkish
mezzes and dished from all over the country. Sized to share and seasoned with all the native spices. Service is also excellent. Ezme does not disappoint."

Ezme has been open since the
spring. This week I finally got to try it. I've long been fond of Turkish food. Two decades ago I spent two weeks in Turkey on business, and I'm fond of saying I never ate better on a business trip, ever. Ezme brought it all back: excellent hummos, house-made pide, delicious cold salads, wonderful lamb kebabs, and a dessert (not baklava) that I wasn't familiar with, but which was absolutely marvelous. It was sweet cheese between layers of warm phyllo pastry, absolutely delicious. The restaurant is right off Dupont Circle, in a very attractive upstairs room (they have a ramp for wheechairs). Service was quiet and professional. We'll be back again and again."

My wife and I were in town at the
Fairfax for the weekend, and we stumbled onto Ezme entirely via location search and Open Table reviews. We sampled the restaurant week menu and WOW was the food good. We had a wine flight featuring a red from Ankora, and some wonderful food, followed by heavenly dessert and traditional turkish coffee. The food and service exceeded expectations. The contrast of flavors, and aromas let to a superb evening!"

I like the ambiance of Ezme. The
food is really good, very delicious and authentic. The service is very good, and professional. My every visit to Ezme is a very positive experience."
Dined on 8/24/2013
Our server was outstanding... and
the rest. was extremely accommodating - but the food i must say is not great. I have been to other Turkish restaurants and this one ranks at the bottom for me. My husband extremely disappointed - really wished for more."

Four of us went to Ezme to try it
out for the first time during Restaurant Week. We were very pleased with the dining experience. The idea of tasting several small portions offered a delicious sampling of Turkish cuisine. We had several different dishes between us and all were excellent. The waitress was most attentive and helpful. The ambiance was uncluttered and the noise level muted, one of us who is hard of hearing was delighted that he did not have to adjust his hearing aids. We tried an Italian red wine which offered us an understanding of why Turkish wines are, perhaps deservedly, not well known. None of us would hesitate to recommend Ezme and we look forward to returning. A delightful dining experience."

Excellent lunch venue - moderate
prices make the fabulous food a great value. The red pepper spread was delicious - the bread, heavenly!! The shepherd's salad is a nice take on the traditional fetoosh. A lovely place in a great neighborhood, gracious service... you can't go wrong."
