A word from Evvia
Sister restaurant of Kokkari, Evvia has been serving beautiful and elegant Greek cuisine since 1995. Fabulous fish, savory roasted meats, and sun-soaked vegetables are jazzed up with a spritz of lemon, a little olive oil, and herbs. There is perfection in simplicity.

Diner Reviews
  • "Most enjoyable evening -- wonderful food, outstanding service, very attractive ambiance. No wonder it's always crowded!!"

  • "Last minute reservation graciously accommodated Never rushed despite the crush of diners. Everything was top shelf. Greek salad fresh, crisp delicious as was the pea salad, octopus, sea breem & roasted chicken. Full pour on our wine. Helpful, friendly, unhurried staff. High kudos all around"

  • "Everything I have tried so far has been excellent. There are so many items on the menu that look good, it's hard to decide what to order the next time."

  • "The food was fantastic and the service impeccable. I ordered the grape leaves and the salmon, as well as a cappuccino and just loved everything. Evvia was recommended to me by my dining companion, and it did not disappoint! I really appreciated that our server took care of everything without being underfoot."

  • "There is aobviously a very talented head chef in this kitchen and owners who care about being one of the very best places to eat. Try one of the lamb dishes....you won't be disappointed!"

  • "We came for lunch and the food, service and ambiance were perfect. Not to be missed are the appetizer lamb riblets and the saganaki melted cheese. We will be back."

  • "Food was delicious, service attentive and friendly. Authentic Greek cuisine. The octopus appetizer, soup, and lamb souvlaki were all outstanding. Valet parking was efficient and affordable. We will be back! Sas evharisto! (I should add that he noise level was rather high: somewhat challenging for the hearing-impaired, and not a place to hold a serious business discussion.)"

  • "My husband and I come to Evvia once or twice a year for special occasions because the food is delicious, the service is wonderful but it is pricey. We had two appetizers, two glasses of wine (one glass for me and one for my husband), two dinners, and we shared a dessert. The total was $130. However, we always enjoy ourselves and the experience the restaurant provides. We will continue to come back !"

  • "You can't decide impulsively to go to Evia for dinner, because it's booked solid a month in advance, but with a little planning, it's well worth the wait. The golden ambiance with brass pots and pottery on the walls and gorgeous floral displays provides a warm and welcoming Mediterranean flair. Our server was so accommodating without hovering, and comp'd us with a lovely dessert for our special anniversary celebration. We enjoyed the souvlaki (lamb skewers) and tzatziki appetizer; all the dishes are wonderfully flavored and fresh. The wine list is interesting with plenty of choices in every price category. This is a 5-star restaurant all around, and they've earned those stars by providing consistently excellent service and food for years."

  • "Wonderful setting, from the moment you walk in until you leave you receive great service, positive atmosphere. The two main courses ordered were halibut and lamb. Go with anything lamb here and you will not be disappointed. The halibut was overcooked and the litmus test of could you do this at home... yes."

  • "This restaurant is close to Stanford University. I have not had real Greek food for a long time and this restaurant has to be one of the best. The oven roasted Branzino was delicious and the lamb chops were superb. I highly recommend this establishment if you are in the Palo Alto area"

  • "Took my partner to a movie and a late dinner at Evvia and the service and food were great! This is one of our go to restaurants and we weren't disappointed. Our server made sure all the dietary concerns were taken care and really made the night enjoyable. Definitely a good pick but getting so popular be sure you make reservations early!"

  • "Few places in Palo Alto are THAT good and THAT reliable. Spot on across the board - love the apps, love the lamb chop, lamb shank, rib eye, grilled fish. You can't go wrong with anything!"

  • "Love this place, the food is unique, and the people who work there are the Best! No I do not work there!!"

  • "I went to have dinner with girlfriends and it was fantastic! The wait staff was super attentive and made great recommendations and I ate every inch of my dinner, it was to die for!"

  • "sometime. The spanakopita was good, the zucchini balls were not good, the mint sauce did not work. The lamb sandwich was dry and had to many herbs on it, especially rosemary. Need the staff to try their lunch specials so they know what it tastes like."

  • "Evvia is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is delicious and the service is polite and attentive. You must reserve a seating in advance because this restaurant is so popular."

  • "Outstanding service. Our waitress Evia was very energetic, gave good recommendations and always said 'YES' to our requests. All the food was pretty good. We had the griller octopus, the lamb chops and amazing desserts."

  • "My friends and I had a wonderful lunch at evvia. Two of us ordered the lamb chops cooked medium rare and they came out perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. Also the potatoes that came with the lamb were delicious and I ended up wanting more of them. The third member of our party ordered the lamb souvlaki and was also very impressed. I ordered the soup of the day which was a tomato and red pepper with feta and olive oil on top, which I enjoyed but I was unable to tasted the roasted red pepper; I could only taste the tomato. For dessert we all shared an evvia sundae and a galaktoboureko. Both desserts were amazing. I usually dislike whipped cream but the whipped cream on the evvia sundae was delicious."

  • "Very good Greek food -- well prepared and healthy -- great service, good wines by the glass, and a comfortable atmosphere for a business lunch. (Not too noisy, good separation between tables.)"
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "Evvia is a wonderful restaurant, very good food, food service pros and just a good vibe. I would go more often but one needs reservations well in advance, not a spontaneous choice."

  • "Having never been to this restaurant before we were very impressed with our server (having moved here from Greece three years ago) and our meal. Everything we ordered was delicious and we will definitely come back again. It was a very enjoyable meal."

  • "The food here is simply wonderful-- high quality, nice portion sizes, flavorful, and obviously prepared with care. The wine selection is top-notch, and the service is always attentive but unobtrusive. A great choice... if you can get in! It's often full, so reservations (even for lunch) are highly recommended."

  • "I travel a lot and find Evvia to be one of my Top 5 favs! Great all around."
    Dined on 3/17/2014
  • "Busy neighborhood gem, so reserve days in advance. Sound levels reasonable for a completely full restaurant. Food and service were both wonderful. Grilled Fish and Lamb spectacular. Very high wine prices, so bring your own and pay the $25 corkage, unless you plan on spending $100 + per bottle ! Come early as parking is very difficult to obtain."

  • "The food was incredible. The rotisserie left a little longing for more, but every other thing we ordered was out of this world. The service started really strong, but they couldn't really handle a busy crowd, and we ended up waiting around for quite some time. Overall I'd recommend it."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "The food was good as usual but the noise level was over the top. Hard to carry on a conversation and we were there early. It was also a lovely evening out but they didn't open the windows/doors which was a bit of a disappointment."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "In particular, both the food and service were disappointing. The plates were collected while some of us were still enjoying the food. In a restaurant of this caliber, the service should be impeccable. I had the great salad which was okay and the grilled octopus which was so rich, it must have been drowning in butter. The rice pudding dessert was excellent except in its presentation, please remove the yucky end of the pear before serving. Evvia is very successful and it is riding the wave of its popularity but it needs to revisit training of its staff regarding proper service."

  • "The most incredible restaurant in the Peninsula. Lamb chops and bronsini fish."

  • "I have dined at Evvia for lunch on several occasions and each time I have not been disappointed. The food and service is consistent every time I'm there. The service is outstanding and the food is even better."

  • "My all time favorite! Have been coming here for the past 18 yrs. I was never disappointed. Only challenge is getting a table."

  • "Evvia is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is consistently good and the service excellent. It's a great choice for dinner or for a special lunch. The only downside is the dining space lacks intimacy."

  • "Fine food, great service, always a treat, especially if you choose a table along the back wall where it's quieter."

  • "My bestie and I have gone here at least the last 3 years to celebrate our March birthdays. Again, they didn't disappoint. Food was fabulous. And, how nice of the server to give us each a free dessert. Was a little noisy when we arrived at 1:15, but by the time we were done with a leisurely lunch, it was much quieter. Must not wait another year to go back."

  • "Service was thoughtful if slow. Food was tasty if pricey. Finally the wine was fantastic."

  • "Evvia is a wonderful restaurant for a special occasion, date, or nice dinner. All staff members were friendly and accommodating and though Greek food can be quite cheesy, Evvia's romantic and cozy ambiance is far from it. For appetizers, we started with the Saghanaki, rich pan fried cheese with a sprinkle of oregano and drizzle of lemon. This was a bit too heavy for me but for cheese lovers its a must. This was followed by Calamari - delightfully fried to a perfect crisp with light batter and a light greek salad. For entrees we loved the whole fish and moussaka -- it reminded me of my most recent trip to Athens. Though it's hard to pronounce, you must order the traditional Galaktoboureko for dessert."

  • "We were 5 minutes late for our reservation and I think they gave our table away because we had to wait 25 minutes. We were comped several appetizers though of the hosts choice...things I might not have otherwise tried, so that made it at least alright. I had the lamb loin chops which were excellent. There is a desert here that I cannot pernounce, but it begins with a "O". It is custand baked in filo dough dusted with powdered sugar and served with pistachio ice cream. It is one of the best deserts I have ever had in my life."
