Longtime friends said they were very impressed with Everest and said "it is one of the best Nepalese restaurants in the Bay Area", and that I was right by saying so and recommending it to them. Try it you will like it!

  • Tops in Petaluma

No doubt this remains one of the top Indian/Nepalese restaurants in Petaluma, the food is lovely and well priced, only wish they would have some of the wines that would match their cuisine better, like some good Riesling, Gewtztraminer, Merlots and Pinot grigrios and Rose's. I highly recommend this restaurant.

  • They can't manage reservations

Really like Everest and the food. It's also true they need help managing reservation load. On two recent occasions my reserved table was given to walk-ins in the minutes preceding my (on time) arrival. 12/25 (phone res) and again 12/27 (OpenTable). On 12/25 they did move people around and accommodate us--place was packed. They discouraged us from ordering tandoori dishes ("takes 25 minutes"). Ironically, the non-tandoori meal took 90 minutes to receive! On 12/27 (just two days later) we couldn't bear it again so left when they acknowledged they were unable to honor the res. Anyway, the food is excellent and their hearts are in the right place. They just need a little chef Robert Irvine from Rest. Impossible to tune up the front of house.

This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Petaluma, and we visit it at least monthly. The food is Indian with Tibetans options, such as Momo. The meal starts with a papadum appetizer with an inviting relish. Dishes are served in inviting round bowls, for ease of table sharing, and spicy levels can be had at any of three levels, so it works for everyone's taste. Rice is available in white or whole grain. Among our favorite dishes are the apricot chicken and the lamb dishes. The saucing varies with dishes, as they should. A strong vegetarian offering, includes vegan options. The service is attentive and unintrusive. The space is small, yet not noisy. A consistent performer.

  • Tasty tandoor

A good place to go for Indian food after a movie or as a casual eat-out. The staff was very gracious, but they brought both of us the same delicious tandoor shrimp even though my friend had ordered something else. We were going to split and thus have 2 different dishes, but the shrimp was so good we didn't really mind. Wine list offers good selections, and the staff is too sweet to get upset at about the mix-up. We will definitely eat here again.

  • The outstanding food completely
    OpenTable Diner Since 2003VIP

The outstanding food completely overcomes the poor service. Actually, the servers worked very hard and were very cheerful (and apologetic) but they are just very understaffed. There were 6 of us, and we had lamb, chicken, salmon and veggie dishes. My tandoori Salmon was the best salmon I have ever had, anywhere. Apricot chicken, lamb dishes, everything was excellent. One exception was the Naan. We ordered garlic naan, got plain naan, and then discovered that it was actually the garlic version, just so mild no one could taste the garlic. But this little place could become the next Amber India, which started in a little strip mall store front similar to this place. It's that good. The drive from SF to Petaluma was absolutely worth it.

  • Food was very good, but don't
    OpenTable Diner Since 2002VIP

Food was very good, but don't expect much meat or poultry in these dishes. For this reason, the food is a bit over-priced. The best part of the food is the excellent sauces. The Apricot Chicken was excellent. Service staff are very nice and responsive but they need more servers.
