EventideSunday Brunch for GroupBeautiful decor in main dining room. Staff was very attentive and food was delicious, especially the buffet. Would definitely go back.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious BrunchWe sent to brunch and I have to say at $19 a person, it is an amazing deal with really good food and service. The brunch included savory and sweet, with brioche french toast, house made sausage, brisket, scrambled eggs, ribs, the list goes on and on. Definitely try the apple strudel at the end of the meal, made with the phyllo dough, it is not too heavy. The only thing I have to say is the Bloody Mary's were not my favorite but every thing else was great. I wanted to post it on Facebook but my husband didn't want me to for fear we won't get a reservation when we want one. Seriously, I'm surprised people aren't lined up out the door to keep this good thing going.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAttention to DetailI took my sister to Eventide for her birthday since she had never been. It was wonderful. The only negative was that they were relatively slow due to a large private party. But the server and manager apologized for the service. We weren't in a big hurry so it was okay. The food is creative and delicious and just the right sized portions. I had the gnocci for my appetizer and I could have eaten the entree sized portion. The server was well versed in the menu options and gave opinions and descriptions of cocktails and descriptions. She was so friendly and helpful (wish I could remember her name). Since we were celebrating a birthday, they brought the dessert on a plate with happy birthday written in chocolate. Love the extra touches!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSpoiledEventide was lovely. Three of us Mom's planned a much needed evening to get together with each other to catch up. We were spoiled with champagne and excellent service and our entrees were perfection. A wonderful evening with the best of what you want from fine dining.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food...tiny portionsBe warned...food is great but you need to order a lot if you want to fill up (and I'm a skinny person who doesn't eat a lot). Lamb shoulder and steak are very good).5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and ambience!Took my partner here for his birthday and we both loved it. Great food, quiet and romantic ambience and excellent service! A wonderful place for a special occasion.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Good FoodIf you are looking for great food and great service, this is the place to be. I had the salmon and my GF had the risotto with shrimp. Neither of us were disappointed. The spring mix salads were very tasty with the quail(?) eggs and prosciutto. Wine was very good. The only minus would be the parking situation and even that isn't that bad. We had to park several blocks away but the walk to built up an appetite, and the walk from allowed us to burn a couple of calories. Highly recommend Eventide!!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find!Although this restaurant is right in the middle of Clarendon, you might miss it. The reason is the bar downstairs will make you think that is the restaurant. However, once upstairs in the dining hall you will be transported to one of the nicest restaurants in the area. It is definitely worth the visit!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial PlaceWe chose this restaurant to greet some friends from Germany. It has great food, good wine list, helpful staff. It was perfect for our dinner.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMQuality for the priceFirst time back at the Eventide dining room for a while: same beautiful space and beautiful food. Portion sizes are moderate and prices high, but quality is, too. Amuse bouche included a sensational avocado ice cream. Beet and orange salad was excellent, despite chives being swapped for tarragon. Lamb croquette appetizer was savory. Entrees were perfectly cooked flatiron steak and duck breast with interesting accompaniments. Interesting choice of wines by the glass. Excellent twist on a Marguerita with watermelon. Server was pleasant, professional, knowledgeable. Oddly long wait (over 20 minutes) between courses, despite the dining room being only 1/3 full on a weeknight. Misbehaving sound system was the only other flaw.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to eat. PerfectGreat place to eat. Perfect service, good rapport with the table and easy to talk to and answer questions about the food. I would highly, highly highly reccomend this restaurant.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to Eventide for Mother'sWent to Eventide for Mother's Day brunch with 2 kids. It was not crowded and was relatively quiet. Friendly staff provided very good service. Good mix of food for breakfast (scrambled eggs, french toast) and lunch (ribs, brisket, ham) and plenty of salads and desserts. Only thing we didn't like was the hot chocolate, which was much too bitter. Relatively inexpensive -- $20 each for adults and $10 each for kids. Parked on back street about a block away. Parking could be a challenge on a busy day. Overall, a very good experience.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFood disappointsUnfortunately, the menu does not live up to its promise. Although the shrimp in the risotto were well cooked, the Arborio was not cooked thoroughly (it was crunchy), and was not made with Parmesan; hence, it had no creaminess. The duck was chewy, with its fat not rendered... However, the fish dish was cooked perfectly. The desserts were dry. At these prices, one expects something closer to perfection, but unfortunately the kitchen did not deliver it. As our experience marked a special occasion, we did not feel it appropriate to notify the kitchen of our dislikes; however, they were numerous enough that we will not be returning to the restaurant. There are too many better choices at varying price points from which to choose in Arlington.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMy new favorite Sunday Brunch spot!Beautiful, elegant high-ceilinged room. Soft sunny light streaming through the large windows. Quiet. Tables spaced apart to give sense of privacy.
Among our favorites on the buffet: homemade pork sausages, eggs benedict, pasta & caesar salads, smoked salmon with capers and caper berries, BBQ ribs and beef brisket. The wonderful desserts were a delightful end to a relaxing meal: mini-flan, cinnamon sugar yeast doughnuts, tres leches, chocolate tart, crusty apple streudel... [we were told they're made by Eventide's in-house Filipina pastry chef] A pot of French-press coffee & dark, rich hot chocolate accompanied our meal!
What's not to like??!! At $19 per person, this brunch is very affordable, relaxing, & delicious!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA little noiser than the last visitWe had a great evening - the food was superb as was the service. We had the duck breast and the flat iron steak, both of which were delicious. This was our second visit, and it was a little noisier than before. The waiter was very attentive. Last time I rated it as quiet, but this time had to change it to moderate. I love the ambience though - loft height ceilings and beautiful brick walls.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love EventideThe only reason for a less than outstanding rating is that there was a large joyous private party happening while we were dining, which made our experience more rambunctious than we prefer.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find!Food was great, restaurant was great, people were very nice, and what a view from the rooftop!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very interestingFood was very interesting and very well presented.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticThis restaurant never fails to impress us on EVERY front - food, ambiance, service. This is our new "go to" place for a very special evening out.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI came here with my wife forI came here with my wife for our one year anniversary. We shall be coming back soon.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMReview of EventideAS first time diners we were very impressed with the efficient yet relaxed feel of this place - large and comfortable – like a comfortable living room. We were accompanied by another couple and everyone in our group would love to return. Although the cuisine is advertised Contemporary American, the dishes were small but delectable. Service was well-timed and very friendly.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my second trip toThis was my second trip to Eventide. In both instances the seafood was fantastic and the service was exceptional. Service was attentive without hovering. Two different sommeliers on the two different trips, both provided excellent guidance, both really listening to what we were asking for and as a result we excellent wines both evenings. Menu is clearly updated frequently to highlight fresh and seasonally available ingredients. My first trip was a business dinner, the second was friends and family. The atmosphere was perfect for both.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe homemade pork sausageThe homemade pork sausage on the breakfast buffet is the best I've ever had.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ambiance and food in theThe ambiance and food in the dining room here is amazing. The service was top knotch. We will definitely be returning. My only complaint was that the portions were a little bit on the small side, especially given the price. Otherwise, great food'4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for leisurely dinnerI love that the menu changes, so even if I order the same type of fish or appetizer, it's prepared different and just as delicious. Service is always impeccable and they never ever rush you out, so it's a great place to truly enjoy a 3-4 course meal and never feel like you should be moving it along.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely restaurant that livedLovely restaurant that lived up to expectations - especially the service. The food was impeccable, though I would have loved a longer menu, and the service was very attentive. Overall, my husband and I had a great date and look forward to returning.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSpacious, well appointed restaurantSpacious, well appointed restaurant. Food was delicious but portions were small. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. Very happy with the experience, a definite return.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for brunch on EasterWe went for brunch on Easter and had the brunch buffet. It was absolutely delicious and now I can't wait to go back for dinner.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMTry the brunchI highly recommend the brunch at Eventide - wonderful food, great service and relaxing atmosphere.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMReally lovelyHad not been to Eventide in a while. Food was delicious, atmosphere lovely and best of all--quiet enough for conversation.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWas very pleased with foodWas very pleased with food and ambiance especially after reading the negative reviews. I will definitely go to Eventide again. Food was awesome and so was the atmosphere. Our server did an amazing job pairing dinner and wine3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved Eventide! We were pleasantly surprised by our evening at Eventide. Absolutely loved the dining room - beautiful room with a nice warm and yet elegant feel. Service was great - so good you almost didn't even notice it. That's a sign of great service - never once had to ask for our drinks to be refilled and always at the exact moment our server was at our table ensuring our needs were met. Food was fabulous. Love the portion sizes - just right - so you can have a starter, do a meal and still do dessert and not feel like you over ate. Great experience and would definitely recommend it and would go back. Keep in mind though it's not an inexpensive place but it's worth every penny!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful restaurant withBeautiful restaurant with excellent cuisine - highly recommend it for a romantic dinner or special occasion.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe experience was fantastic. The experience was fantastic. From being seated to dessert was impeccable.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA pleasure to be able to eatA pleasure to be able to eat excellent food and have a conversation without having to scream at your friend to be heard.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMgood but overprices/too much pureefood was good but overpriced. Why do chef's feel the need to puree everything? You know what else is pureed? Babyfood. How about cooking instead of making something fit for Johnson & Johnson.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to take the parentsGreat, quiet dinner with the parents. Have been here before and the ambiance and food were very good. What I was impressed by were the desserts. I usually overlook these on the menu but we were still chatting and decided to order. OUT OF THIS WORLD. White chocolate pistachio mousse with pistachio ice cream, etc. was amazing. As was my dad's lemon tart with earl grey ice cream and cardamom glaze.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI had dinner at Eventide withI had dinner at Eventide with a colleague and was impressed. The dining room is interesting and, at least on a Thursday night, was very quiet. The server was attentive and knowledgable and her enthusiasm was contagious. Both of us had the duck and it was perfectly done and nicely presented. The duck breast was cooked nicely with a crisp fat cap that was delicious. I look forward to returning.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
