"We went to EVA during restaurant week and had a great meal. The RW specials were also on the main menu, so represented a reasonable take on their food. This is a Tanglewood neighborhood gem, we'll return to. The small whitetablecloth restaurant side is intimate. The larger bar side would be good for a group. Interesting wine list for a small restaurant."

"Despite the fact that the restaurant was fairly empty on our arrival and I had a reservation, we were seated in the bar area, which is less formal, with no table clothes, fairly uncomfortable wood seats, and felt isolated from the main dining room. Our waitress was very pleasant and was able to answer our questions about menu items well. Because we were in the bar, it seemed we were not as noticeable or attended to as promptly. Bread was not brought to table and only toward end of meal when I asked was I informed that it was an extra that needed to be asked for. Food seemed well prepared and flavors were reasonably well balanced and as a 3 course for $30 an excellent value."

"Restaurant was understaffed during Dine Around Seattle week. The server was doing her best, but she had too much to cover. Food was good, but not outstanding. The fishcake, which came highly recommended, was overcooked and dry. The ahi tuna was very good. This is a good neighborhood place."

"I had very fond memories of Eva - we went fairly frequently with friends up until a couple of years ago, but then hadn't made a trip back until last week. The food was definitely not up to the standard that I had remembered. We ordered off the Dine Around menu and all around, the food was uninspired, severely underseasoned, and unimaginative. The only highlight was the dessert, for which the pastry chef should be commended.

Overall, it was a very disappointing meal. We will not be back."

"Loved my salad and the shrimp was quite nice. My husband's chicken with chickpeas could have had more flavor and the lemon coffeecake was just ok. Loved the atmosphere and our waitress, however. My husband's chair was bumped 6 times that night, however, which wasn't much fun and mine was bumped twice. We will definitely try again."

"Eva makes me want to move into the neighborhood just to be able to pop in whenever I would like. Hospitality was gracious, service was attentive, and the food . . . yum. Every course was absolutely delicious. It is SO worth the 20 mile drive!"
