The food is award winning & noted for plump, juicy mussels in a variety of beer & other sauces, as well as the city's best hamburger made with seven secret spices & the only authentic double fried Flemish Belgian style fries found in Philadelphia. The restaurant is owned by a Belgian American family from Brugge Belgium & staffed with a few employees on visas from Belgium, two other attributes which make this the authentic Belgian experience.

For the more adventurous call for a seat in the "coffin room", a small room in the back of the second floor where the three tables are coffins. In high demand so call early.

Diner Reviews
  • "I was there with a party of 9 other people. The beer orders took quite awhile from ordering to delivery. From the looks, they had the same waitress serving upstairs and down. Seemed like we were inconveniencing her by asking to take our order. Also, a 20% mandatory gratuity charge is absurd. My total bill was $109 including a $16 Grat. No way did she deserve $16 from just my bill alone. I had mine split because of a large # of shots ordered. Food and Beer selection was great, Food tasted great, but service was awful. "

  • "This is the place to go in Philadelphia if you want Moules and Frites! Also has a wonderful selection of beers."

  • "Great beer selection, but the lines seemed dirty-- everything had an off-flavor."

  • "If you like beer, you'll love Eulogy! Hundreds of beers to choose from, and a knowledgable staff to help with your choice! They also have a small, but delicious menu to choose a meal or a few apps that go well with the beer selection."

  • "The beer menu is awesome! The mussels and fries are the best I have had. I will go again and again!"

  • "Fantastic service--our waitress recommended the beer that I'm happily going to be drinking for the rest of my life, and comped one of my boyfriend's drinks in celebration of his birthday. We'll definitely be going back."

  • "Had a great time with a group of 6. Excellent beer selection (both on tap and in bottle). Muscles were outstanding!"

  • "i went 10 years ago and remembered not being wowed. I came here again and i'm still not wowed. the bread that came with the mussels, i would assume would be a nice baguette. it was more of a dry roll. i didn't touch it. the burger wasn't amazing, the french fries were not fried or crispy. very soft pieces of steak fries. beer menu was obviously terrific, but i can get beer anywhere, I could just go to the foodery and take beer home with me at a lesser cost, i wanted good food too."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Waitress came by twice only, couldn't find her half the time, food menu is short and mediocre, Belgian fish and chips are not good."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "Great variety of beers and knowledgeable staff. All sandwiches are delicious and our go to item is the mussels/fries (you cannot go wrong with this one!)."

  • "Eulogy is a great restaurant overall: delicious food, outstanding service, and lively atmosphere."

  • ""I love the relaxed feel of this place - like a comfortable dining room in a friends home, plus there is the coffin room. Will be returning to try additional beers! Did I state that they have over 400 beers available?! I definitely would return to try more dishes as well. The Fish and Chips were amazing. Service was well-timed and very friendly."

  • "We have gone several times. Anywhere else we eat mussels we compare to theirs. Must order the dijon sauce. We usually get a couple orders of different flavors. Other food we have eaten is great too. Hamburgers are excellent. Very unique flavor. Can't beat the unlimited beer selections either. Prices are very reasonable for the city. Not a place to go for a romantic quiet evening. Older building, very tight seating and usually some louder crowds. Reservations a must. We will be back again and again!"

  • "Visiting Philadelphia over the weekend, our Saturday afternoon was well spent with a phenomenal beer selection and great food at this spectacular find...a MUST visit!"

  • "Many bars come and go and Eulogy is always there for me! I love the beer list, the consistency in service and offerings. It's simply the best"
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "I dream about the dijon mussels in my sleep. They're a flavor explosion. The fries are big, crunchy and incredible, as is the sauce they come with, and they taste amazing in the dijon broth. And the beer selection is endless....the waiters are always incredibly knowledgeable about the beer and the food, very attentive, and helpful when you're trying to make your selections of food and drink. I've been here twice, and will undoubtedly be back again and again!"

  • "Eulogy is a great place to enjoy yummy Belgian goodness. With over 16 Belgian beers on tap at any one time, and four pages of bottled international beers, you just can't go wrong. The short (but good) menu includes mussels prepared six ways, as well as Belgian fries with three different dipping sauces. There's also other stuff on the menu, all of it good. This is a great place to go after a day visiting the historic district, but leave the kiddies home."

  • "Dive bar, great beer menu food was okay. The duck was cooked well however the sauce over powered the meat. The fries were gross, over cooked and old which was ashame because the sauce that accompanied the fries was Delish."

  • "After an abysmal seating by the floor manager and no attention from our server for 12-13 minutes, we were dying for a beer, some water, or heck, even a menu. The beer selection saved the experience, along with some great food. However, since we had somewhere to be and the meal's introduction was slow (and the worst), we had to rush through what would have otherwise been a properly paced meal. Yet another example of a mobbed philly joint that offers great products in a poor fashion, simply because they can. The scenic view was a loud couple, seated 1 foot away, but 2 feet higher than us. Weird."

  • "I thought the atmosphere would be a little nicer, and the service a little faster, but the food was delicious and the beer selection unparalleled. I'd consider this place "no frills" so don't bother dressing up for a night out in the city."

  • "We decided to visit Eulogy after hearing that it was ranked highly as a beer bar. We were not disappointed. The beer selection was great and the food was good too."

  • "Bottom line.....you come here for the beer not the food! Plus, the servers are friendly and knowledgeable!"

  • "A great beer selection and pretty knowledgeable staff, and a pretty good menu, though nothing really jumped out as special. Our service was a bit slow despite it being a very quiet night, but the ambiance was nice so we didn't mind waiting too much."

  • "First of all let me say Eulogy was a lot of fun and with 400+ beers available, if you are a beer person, it's great. However (and I take full responsibility for this and not reading enough about Eulogy) I thought it would be more of a restaurant. Make no mistake, it's a bar. Beers were great (I had the Busty Blonde). Energy was great - everyone was enjoying themselves (and I did too). But my husband and I (in our 50's) were definitely the oldest people there. We refer to ourselves as the "creepy old people in the bar." Food was above average bar food - fries (or should I say friettes?) were very good. Server was very busy but took good care of us. Enjoyable evening but not what we expected. Great place to hang out with friends."

  • "Great beer selection, almost overwhelming. Food menu is a little thin; but I found something that appealed to me, and it was well prepared. I would probably have difficulty coming back and finding something else that would interest me food wise."
    Dined on 1/24/2014
  • "Despite having one of their coolers broken, making a third of their bottles unavailable this place still had a great beer list. If what I wanted was unavailable our server was more than willing to suggest another beer of the same style. The waitress was attentive and knowledgable. I'll say the place doesn't look to inviting from the outside. There is a curtain that hangs in front of the door on cold nights so if you weren't planning on going there it's probably not a place you'd just come across and walk in. The upstairs is dimly lit and quieter than the bar downstairs. The food was good, fries stood out the most to me, but if I was to go again it would be for the beer."

    Dined on 1/16/2014
  • "The beer selection here is amazing, but the food was not good. Other than the fries, which I thought were delicious, the medium burger I ordered came out well done and the mussels my fiancé ordered were sitting in a tub of wine that tasted as if it hadn't been cooked down at all. I'll definitely come back for the amazing beer, but I'll think about eating somewhere else."

  • "I am always satisfied with my visits to Eulogy. However, this time I went for a specific beer I saw on their menu, and they did not have it. Was a little disappointed by that, as I have looking for months for beers from this specific brewery, to no avail. :( But the food was great and of course, the other beers I had were great. Eulogy is still one of my favorite bars in the city."

  • "Everything was right about this place except it was like 80-85 degrees in the upstairs where we had dinner and drinks. I took my coats off and had to unbutton my shirt because it was so hot. Sweating and eating friejtes and sausage and beer is not ideal to me. As we left we spotted that at the door there was a space heater on which baffled me. Overall this place was great but hot to an uncomfortable level. If they get the temperature right, it'd be perfect, but the heat might prevent you from enjoying the experience."

  • "Me and my wife booked a table for this restaurant/bar, but didn't really need to, as the night we went there were plenty of tables. The food was wonderful and beer list great. Upstairs was comfortable and had an atmosphere we enjoyed, not a fancy place, but really comfortable with great food and drinks."

  • "Eulogy is a great place for folks who want to enjoy some great beer in a bar type atmosphere. There is a food menu but this is by no means primarily a restaurant. Eulogy is an awesome slightly divey bar that is comfortable, relaxing and very beer menu centric. I would definitely go back and recommend it to my friends."

  • "After several attempts at calling places for 20 people I finally looked on opentable. I was looking for a good place for a dinner and some drinks with some friends. Eulogy was a great find. I booked it in 30 secs on opentable and was good to go. It has a tremendous beer selection. The waiter was very knowledgeable about many of the beers and my German friend was very impressed. We had apps and dinner. The apps and dinner food was good for a bar that had 300 beers but probably would not be fit for foodies. We had dinner upstairs where the table was a coffin. That was a nice touch. Overall the service was excellent as we stayed for probably 4 hours and had a great time. If you are looking for a great beer with a burger then this is the place."

    Dined on 12/13/2013
  • "This place has great food (we got the burger) and arguably the best beer selection in the city. They had 15-20 beers on tap and another 50-70 in bottles. Such a great time."
    Dined on 12/13/2013
  • "I loved this restaurant. The atmosphere isn't for everyone, but we enjoyed it (crowded and tight). The food was outstanding and the mussels are a must!!! Beer list also great."
    Dined on 12/7/2013
  • "Good if you like beer! Dining area is upstairs and they did not put any effort into decorating it. Shabby, grungy, not shabby chic. Fine for a dark bar not so nice if you are just sitting and waiting for food with kids. Mussels at Campbell's place or even goat hollow are way better. Felt like the ingredients for the sauce were just thrown together not actually cooked together. Lots of fries though but too fat!"
