  • "Etta's was just fine. Food was excellent. I had the crab cakes, and the wife had the spice rubbed salmon. We shared and both received our approval. The coconut creme pie afterward was really good. Would recommend to anyone visiting Seattle. Not the best restaurant, by any means, that we have visited. However, good enough for an occasional meal."

  • "My wife and I made reservations for ourselves and another couple online. We under anticipated how long it would take for us to walk from our hotel down to the restaurant, and arrived early. The staff was very friendly and seated us promptly as our table became available. They had a special that night which my wife ordered. The special was a three course meal for 28 dollars. She was very happy with her choice, although I might recommend getting there on the early side as they ran out of one of the desserts. I had the northwest seafood and coconut stew and it was Phenomenal!! It was so rich and creamy, I shared some with my wife and she couldn't believe how great it was. In fact, she enjoyed it so much we have reservations again for tonight."

  • "The food is great, but an hour and a half for lunch on a week day, really?"

  • "The salmon was simply delicious. It was cooked just right. We always enjoy the salmon here."

  • "Felt like the portions were small which I understand was likely due to restaurant week but didn't seem like we were really getting any savings for this special event, Katy"

  • "While portions have become smaller over the years, the quality has always been high. The halibut is flaky and moist, the crab cakes are very tasty, and if you happen to go for brunch, the crab benedict are delicious."

  • "No real complaints here, the place was just missing something that would have made it a 10/10. Service was incredible, absolutely no complaints there."

  • "Etta's offers good but not consistent or really inspiring dining. The decor seems a bit dated...90's mood/bistro dining...and tends to be loud. Salads are very basic, not interesting or distinctive. For main dishes, we had a party of 4 and 2 of us ordered the signature salmon dish. The salmon was an ample serving attractively plated, however, slightly overcooked. Surprising for a restaurant known for its fish. The crab cake presentation was tasty and well plated. The Thai inspired seafood stew was generous but under seasoned. Overall, our sense was that Etta's could use some updating of menu and decor."

  • "We went to Etta's during Restaurant Week and enjoyed wonderful food at a great price. Lunch portions were just right and the service was great."

  • "Enjoyed another Restaurant Week 3-course lunch for $15. Three choices were offered for each course: appetizer, entree and dessert. For the first course selected a creamy clam chowder soup, next enjoyed a fried cod sandwich with a pickle slice and side of shoe-string French fries, and for dessert had a nice tasting peanut butter sandwich cookie. Also, the soup as well as the cod sandwich with fries arrived hot. Marci did an outstanding job and allowed for a nice pace between the courses."

  • "This is a favorite local restaurant for colleagues and I to go to for a periodic nice lunch out. Food has always been delicious and I can't decide if I love their Crab Salad or the Rub with Love Salmon more."

  • "Went there with a friend for Restaurants week, we both had such a wonderful experience there. The food was great and our server was attentive and a wonderful ambience. The best part was, we had so much food for $28. Will definitely go again!"

  • "I had two clients from the east coast who wanted a feel for a real Seattle restaurant. Etta's fit the bill due to location, ambience and food. We were not disappointed, in fact my clients were blown away. The food was fantastic and the service was wonderfully Seattle, attentive and informative without being overbearing. I have never had a bad experience at Etta's."

  • "We've eaten at every T. Douglas restaurant because we're truly fans of his approach to Northwest cuisine; honestly speaking, this is the first mediocre meal we've had at a Douglas table. This day we had a Sunday brunch. We started with tomtao soup which I rate as 8.5 of 10 because of its refined flavor and texture, but it went downhill from there. The house rubbed salmon (a house specialty) was so dry that a swallow of a drink was needed to push it along. The mushroom coulis that capped the salmon tasted like a shot of vinegar. One of us had a plate of cod fish and chips, which we rate at 6 of 10 because the house made tartar was worthy of praises, but the meal was merely the size of a child's plate. Sorry, we will not return."

  • "dropped in for a quick bit. Made the reservation earlier that morning and had no problem getting in. This is another Douglas gem. His menu utilizing local seafood and pairings is remarkable. The Crab Eggs Benedict is worth the trip alone. A nice selections of different bloody marys made my wife happy. With a nice view of the water and at the end of Pike Place Market its a great spot for breakfast or any meals. Service was quick, polite and accommodating."

  • "We went there with a party of 4 adults and an infant in tow. The staff was very accommodating of our 1 year old, who was a bit cranky at times. This place really does seafood justice, the calamari appetizers was perhaps one of the best renditions of this plate I've ever had. I had the coconut seafood bowl which was packed with flavor and generous portions of seafood. 3 out of 4 members of our party were very happy with their plates, the exception being due to more of a dislike of some of the ingredients of the plate as opposed to the execution of that plate."

  • "Outside of the main tourist season, when one avoids the Pike Place Market at all costs, Etta's is a fine place to eat. Consistently excellent, professional services matches generally well-conceived, well-made food at a very reasonable cost. Booths can be a little tight, but fine for most people. People-watching out the windows is an extra feature that never gets boring. We treat this as a special occasion whenever the mood is right, but I can easily imagine making a habit of it like the regulars we keep seeing here. The menu offers creative breakfast and lunch choices, available at the same time, so the variety is huge. Only made it here for dinner once or twice, and that was excellent as well."

  • "Once again, an incredible dinner! We go to Etta's whenever we visit Seattle. We love the food as well as the fact that you can go casually dressed or dressed up and still receive great service."

  • "Fries were unreasonably salty!!!! Went there for brunch to celebrate my brothers birthday. The waitress we had was a bit ditsy & didn't completely fulfill our order, so I didn't have a meal. We ordered shrimp & grits, corned hash, fried seafood platter, crab cakes and the crab Benedict. The corned beef hash & the crab cakes were the winners of all of them. The shrimp & grits were not balanced flavors. The rue was too salty & the grits were 3 formed cakes instead of the traditional creaminess under the rue, which would have balance the dish. I've eaten at nearly all of Tom's restaurants & I was really disappointed at Etta's for brunch. I like my food well seasoned but it was ridiculous! And the food wasn't memorable!"

  • "Great service! Josie was excellent - kind, intuitive, great suggestions and very helpful. Food was great but as I recall from previous visits to Etta’s the food is VERY salty. 3 of us ordered the salmon with the specialty rub. I understand that often rubs are salty, but the rest of the dish was pretty salty too (asparagus and kale as well as the fries served with the shrimp and chips). The salmon was cooked perfectly and the crab cakes were awesome (more crab than breading). We couldn’t decide between the crab cakes and the salmon, so Josie suggested getting the small salmon with the crab cake and it was the perfect combo. Overall, I will definitely go back to Etta’s but hopefully I will remember to ask for them to go light on the salt."

  • "Can't go wrong at Etta's. The fish is fresh and artfully prepared. Start with a delicious cocktail and some crusty bread baked just for the Tom Douglas empire. Then take your happy tummy across the street and watch the sun set over the Olympics from Steinbruck Park. Iconic Seattle..."

  • "The food is so wonderful and creative, we can't decide what to have! The seafood stew varies with the season, but is always great. This time it was more asian in flavor and was perfectly done. The seafood is cooked to perfection. My friend had the shrimp and was equally impressed. This is one of our favorite spots!"

  • "I used to go to Etta's quite a bit for brunch and was always amazed. My last two visits were both for dinner, and both times groups of four, each person having been there several times before. I don't know if it's a different chef, or maybe the brunch menu/food is just better, but it was mediocre at best, Tom Douglas usually does an amazing job, but Etta's has been falling short, both visits, no one in our group was impressed. It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't good either. The service was fine."

  • "Ettas has a small but satisfying menu, nice wines, affable service, and a feeling of authenticity. I went twice last week, once with a group of six and once tete a tete and felt the restaurant adapted itself easily to either situation. Staff also helpful in getting us a taxi afterward."

  • "We were thoroughly unimpressed with our server, who came to the table way too much, constantly reached across our bodies to grab plates, gave us absolutely no insight in to the restaurant or menu. Wine list was extremely limited, especially white wines by the glass...to support a seafood menu. Bartender could not even handle a muddled-lime drink. Signature salmon dish was very good, but crabcakes, fish & chips etc. were unexceptional. After reading and hearing so much, it was absolutely the low-light of our entire weekend in Seattle. We won't be coming back or recommending Etta's."

  • "We wanted a great seafood night, and didnt get it at Ettas. Highly overrated, average food, and the special Salmon rub just killed the taste of the fish."
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "The meal was very nice, with one exception, asked for the salmon to be cooked med rare, but it was medium plus, a bit too dry for us. Don't know if waiter forgot or kitchen mishap. The corn pudding was great, shredded Brussels sprouts yummy... Would be a good place for 6-8 people in one of the many large booths."

  • "We ate there 2 nights. The special the first night was exceptional. The tuna the 2nd night was good, but didn't have the taste thrill combinations that we experienced the 1st night."

  • "I had a dozen raw appetizer and fried oyster enter and it was perfect. We celebrated our son's 50th birthday with new friends and all had great meals. This is a typical TomDouglas restaurant, great food, good selections and friendly efficient service. We come here often. Every new visitor we have here in Seattle, we take here at least once."

  • "$7.50 for a cup of clam chowder ! Very delicious however! $19.50 for one small crab cake with Brussels sprouts and lots of fries! Over priced for what you get. Attentive service."
