The cauliflower & shrimp bruschetta appetizers and chickpea side were some of the best dishes I've ever eaten in my life. I was bereft when the plate was cleared. The pork chop was perfectly serviceable though not remarkable. The cobia fish was very unique and worth a shot. The filet was the best of the entrees we had. One of the best meals I've had in Nashville. Go here. Now. Eat. Come back.

This was our third time at Etch; all visits were on a Saturday evening. This time the restaurant was more crowded, and so loud we couldn't hear the music [which makes it pointless to play]. Service was polite and knowledgable, but less attentive: forgot a drink order, no quick refills on water, and no bread. The food was good overall. The soup and salad, and appetizer were excellent, but the main dishes were a bit disappointing. Two people in our party ordered the same dish but one came out slightly over-cooked and lacking garnish. We'll go back... but probably not any time soon.

We had a good meal. Although, it was overpriced. The staff was snooty. Restaurant lacked ambiance and vibe. Ate at Silo the night before and it blew Etch out of the water in all ways. We would not go back.

Was excited to try out a new place with an out of town guest. Heard a lot about Etch so wanted to try. Sat at the bar for a drink while waiting for friend to get there. It is small and quite cramped. Both bartenders were trying too hard to be professional...felt forced. When sat down at table was met by a young waiter who although tried to be helpful was not very knowledgeable about the signature drinks or the menu especially the special of the night....he basically read it off his sheet. Appetizer: pork belly was delicious but it was warm and the garnish cold so was not sure if it should have been hot or cold? Then had roasted cauliflower which was a mix of 3/4 steamed and 1/4 barely roasted....had no flavor. Entree: I ordered venison which was delicious but again was lukewarm at best. My friend had the fish special that was so layered w items that I am wondering if he even tasted the fish. Only ordered one side of snap peas since was told was a huge serving....it was not. Waiter was attentive but very green. Food sounded like it would be awesome but was disappointing. Not sure what the prob is but seems like Etch is riding on it still being a newish "in place" but suggest management/chef/owner take an honest look at all the wait staff and how the food comes out since the menu prices did not warrant the experience. Might try again to see if different experience but not rushing to do so. Sorry Deb.....

On a recent visit to Nashville, I got to experience dinner at Etch. Their roasted cauliflower appetizer was unlike anything I've had before, and I can't wait to recreate something similar at home. I enjoyed the filet, which was served with roasted vegetables (carrots, zucchini, potatoes, broccoli, and maybe a few mushrooms) while my girlfriend had the North African inspired lamb. We both really enjoyed our food. The best thing about Etch was the service. Our waiter was excellent and attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. I would go back for the service alone even if the food were just so-so. Luckily both the food and the service are lovely, and I highly recommend it.

Food was overly fussy, too much on the plate which didn't go together. Very nice venison was overwhelmed by heavy herbed cheese. There was a party going on at the same time and so we waited 45 minutes between salad and entree.

We have been to Etch several times and always enjoy our meal. The building itself is stunning. It's a great location in the center of downtown Nashville. The food is consistently good and innovative. My only reason for not giving 5 stars across the board is due to their lack of change in their menu. It was basically the same as the previous time that we visited. This is a personal thing. I realize that a lot of diners prefer familiarity over change. Considering that they are always fully booked, I'm sure that they know more about putting together a menu than I do.

Etch satisfies on every possible level. The downtown location, stylish interior, open kitchen, fabulous and creative cuisine, knowledgeable staff, excellent service, critical mass, and positive energy. We dined there for the second time two nights ago to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We were hopeful that it would be as wonderful as it was the first time we visited and it was. Our daughter, who is a foodie like us, was delighted. The flavors and presentation of the several courses we enjoyed were remarkable. It was a fabulous experience and one I would like to enjoy again soon!

Second time here, and follows through as being one of our Nashville fave's. Last time we sat at the kitchen bar, this time a table with friends. Service was great at the start and then towards the end got a little slow, but overall we liked our server and it was nearly excellent. We don't usually like a table because we feel surrounded with people - we prefer booths, but the layout does not support being seated by the window with four people. Nonetheless, the food was beautifully presented and outstanding. Great wine list and desserts were unique and wonderful. It's a high energy and noisy environment, but feels like a Chicago or New York modern restaurant, and we like the versatility it brings to the music city.

I enjoyed our appetizers - we ordered the Roasted Cauliflower and Octopus & Shrimp Bruschetta. Next I had the Beet Salad, it was just alright. For my entree I ordered the Venison at the recommendation of our waiter. It was fine, but not nearly as good as I was expecting. Mostly I really disliked the atmosphere. It seemed strangely dated. Why is there hotel carpeting in a fine dining room? I'd go back for drinks and apps, but would skip a full dinner. I think there's much better options in Nashville for the price.

Firstly, we enjoyed our evening dining out at Etch, but had higher expectations of the food. The server was great but I don't feel we made the best choices available. We ordered the roasted cauliflower which really is just that, roasted cauliflower and we had hoped it was something creative as it was suggested as a signature appetizer, it wasn't. The pork belly was very good and given the chance we would have ordered two orders of that and passed on the cauliflower. My wife had a Filet, very good but served on a bed of vegetables all far too al dente. My own meal was the lamb Loin, bone in, very rare and really small, again served with undercooked vegetables. Overall the occasion was pleasant but the food did not meet expectations.

Etch was as amazing as I had heard. I was there for lunch and had their cauliflower appetizer for starters. It was delicious with the three accompanying sauces. I especially loved the green pea pesto. I ordered the roast beef sandwich on grilled sourdough bread. Every bite was delicious, from the bread to the roast beef to the asparagus (a surprise on a sandwich but it works) to the fried onion slice to the cheese. What a treat. The service was excellent, ambiance was great, and valet parking is a huge plus for downtown Nashville. We sat by the window not far from the Country Music Hall of Fame and watched fans brave the rain, lining up to see the CMA red carpet arrivals later in the day. Deb Pacquette is better than ever!!!

My overall experience at Etch was average. While I can agree that this is a convenient downtown spot, I don't feel as though the food or service lived up to the hype. If I had a choice for downtown dining at the price points Etch offers, I have to say there are better places. Our table of four purposefully tried three separate dishes...all of which were okay but none of which knocked our socks off. There were a variety of flavor combinations found in each plate which made the dishes seem more sophisticated but really just drowned out the main item on the plate. The service seemed slow but the place was booked so I can understand that. Overall experience was average.

Etch continues to be exceptional. With all of the new so-called "hip" places in town, Etch remains in a class by itself. Deb is such a talented chef, and her desire to teach and train others is much admired. My husband and I were there Saturday night, and we both opted for the seafood special of the evening which has a delicious scallop dish that had a slight Asian flare. And of course we started with the Octopus and Shrimp Bruschetta and Roasted Cauliflower. It's worth the trip to Etch just to indulge in those two starters. Kudos to THE top restaurant in Nashville for delivering another over the top dining experience!

It is apparent that Etch has a very talented chef. We had a wonderful appetizer of shrimp and octopus bruschetta, good wine, the scallop entree and the lamb entree. Each element was well executed. My only criticism is that with the limited menu, I felt the chef put way too much on one plate. I love lamb, but I felt the phyllo dough/feta triangles, apricots, cranberries, olive tapenade and green sauce (chimichurri?) was too much for one plate. Too many competing flavors, and they all ended on a tangy note. Balsamic or citrus or cheese tang was pronounced in each component. The brussell sprouts were tasty, although again, too much vinegar. Overall, we loved the ambience, the service was OUTSTANDING, and we will be back to try new dishes
