I had the Venison. It was recommended 'medium-rare', which I wouldn't normally do. I took the recommendation and was glad I did. The meat was great, the plate looked great, and the service was O.K. The server definitely knew her stuff when it came to the dishes. Do yourself a favor and use the complimentary valet. This was the first time I have and it made the night that much easier and enjoyable.

I was able to experience Etch more than a year ago for a work event which was great! We had a private room and the service and food was impeccable. I took some friends this past weekend as I have been talking about this place since my first visit and everyone said it was their new favorite restaurant. The food was perfect! Everything. The flavors were beyond creative, they were masterful. We had several appetizers, entrees and desserts and we literally could not choose which item was our favorite.

My 84 year old father came into town, and again, we went to Etch to celebrate. He loves this place for its elegance and innovative food. The professionalism of everyone harkens back to his days in Paris. Of course, we began with the pork belly, which is so rich and explodes with flavors. The lamb and venison were absolute powerhouses of flavors. To build a fork with bits of each component was absolutely worth it. Fantastic wine list and good help from the waiter and sommelier. All around, a celebration! Thank you, Etch!

This was on the top of the list after moving here 4 months ago, so many to try in Nashville, so went here on a Friday night ( early dinner with east coast friends who were visiting). service was OK. As so many had recommended we had the roasted cauliflower, excellent flavors! I order the lamb chop, nice presentation with a mint preserve. Hubby got the Vegetarian plate, rutebaga La Plancha.. it was very good, but said he would not order it again.... Our friend order the Corvina with mussels, she said the fish was wonderful, but she could only eat one mussel, as they weren't open! We had sides of Brussels Sprouts and squash, both great! Just didn't have the overall vibe I expected. may try again, but not one I can't wait to return.

Nashville may be known as Music City but it will soon be known as Foodie City too if it continues to attract restaurants of Etch's caliber. Unable to get a dinner reservation we opted for lunch which was a very pleasant surprise. Kim, our server, was knowledgable, had practical suggestions and was attentive but not hovering. The Turkish (deconstructed) fish taco was exceptionally flavorful and the fish was fresh. The squash soup and all other dishes measured up to what appears to the goal of the owner/chef: offering an unpretentious, creative and flavorful dining experience.

Started with cocktails at the bar which were very good. Ordered appetizers, the Cobia, Venison, and some sides to share. We also shared a couple of desserts. The flavors of everything was excellent. The use of spices and the sauces were done right. If I lived anywhere near this restaurant I be a regular. Service was great, they provided some good wine recommendations, and the atmosphere was very cool.

We chose etch for my fiance's birthday dinner after being given a gift certifcate. We are generally more casual than what etch offers. However, Im very glad we went. Our waiter was eccentric and the whole staff seemed to be waiting on us so as to not miss anything. The octopus and shrimp bruschetta was great and the eggplant parm soup was phenomenal. My venison was cooked perfectly and the flavor was obviously true to their farm to table promise. My fiance truly enjoyed her filet. The drinks were flavorful and creative. Unfortunately, etch is just out of budget for two young adults trying to get married, but it was absolutely an enjoyable experience. I will recommend it to anyone and try to return soon.

The chef menu was to say the least amazing. When you try the different textures of food that are presented with each plate it's symphony. The grilled cauliflower is amazing for a starter (you have to look for it). The import Almonds from India or Spain (Can't remember which) for this plate - awesome. There was a pesto paste and feta sauce - it was totally amazing. Had the filet - it was cooked perfectly and the flavors were great and paired well with the vegetables on the side. My buddy had the Cobia (Fish). Awesome. Really can't rate this any higher than the best I've had in a while. Reasonably priced - excellent service - felt like royalty. Doc

Food was truly delicious, creative, with amazing well thought out subtleties, and presentation was artistic, really beautiful. Cocktail menu was incredibly creative, and the drinks were balanced, strong, and delicious. Save room for at least a shared dessert--to not do so would be a mistake! This was a birthday celebration dinner for two, and one candle on the dessert was a splendid touch. Service was outstanding. Great location, a block away from a terrific music venue, which we enjoyed before our 7:30 reservation. This review would have been much less enthusiastic if the price was excessive. Etch is a rare outstanding fine downtown Nashville restaurant that is priced reasonably and fairly. We simply loved it, all of it!

Came in for dinner alone and was seated at the counter overlooking the open kitchen. Roasted cauliflower was amazing especially with the truffled pea pesto and crunchy toasted almonds. Signature dish cobia was spicy and sweet - interesting, not my favorite combination of flavors. Coffee panna cotta dessert was amazing. Service was friendly, helpful and very attentive.

Every effort was made to make this an exotic dining experience. Success was found in experienced, charming, and helpful wait staff. The hostess was rude and the selection I made was only slightly above average as far as taste is concerned. The presentation was wonderful and all other aspects of the evening were what was to expected of this level of restaurant.

Etch manages to seamlessly meld all aspects of a five star restaurant experience into a wonderful whole. Service is caring, knowledgeable and almost invisible; the food is creative, perfectly prepared and wondrously presented; and the wine list has all the "names", but also has some real finds. Managers prowl the floor insuring the experience can be as perfect as it can be. There are regular tables and there are seats around a food bar where you can watch the chefs do their magic. Unforgettable experience and highly recommended. Reservation recommended.

First time here. Noticed it had exceptionally high reviews - after eating here we understand why. Service by James was friendly, helpful, and perfect in every way. Entrees (the cobia and the pork chop) were beautifully prepared and an outstanding in every aspect. We also had the roasted cauliflower appetizer and it was superb. One word of caution on the cauliflower - the portion size is huge - more than enough for two people. Our only regret is that we did not save room for desert. This will likely become our favorite spot to take out of town guests. An excellent representative of our great city!

James was sincere, on the spot and actually listened to us so that his recommendations were in sync with us (1 vegetarian and 1 eat most anything tasty)... We picked Etch as one of our choices for dining in Nashville, Unfortunately, by the time we got there, we were worn down from six days of meetings and great meals. My regret is not doing Etch earlier, since we might have tried more of the menu options. As it was, the lamb chop and the Cbia were both excellent. there is a lot going on with the food, and the understanding is that every bite should be different. Some places cannot make this work. Etch does and more! When we return to Nashville, Etch will be the first place we stop. This is very like some of the finest places we have tried in Chicago (L2O/Naha/Charlie Trotters/etc.)

My filet was better than you will find in 99% of the best steakhouses in the U.S. Nashville is being overrun by too many gimmick restaurants that don't deliver. Etch delivers excellent food and service in a nicely designed dining area where you can carry on conversation and not be bothered.

We had heard so much about this restaurant and decided to celebrate our anniversary there. Even though we could only get an early reservation at 5:45, it was really not an issue. Our waiter, Ed, was so very accommodating and extremely knowledgeable of every ingredient in every menu item. The food was really beyond description and I would be hard pressed to put any adjective on the presentation, taste, and customer service.
