EtchOutstanding ScallopsHad a great meal at ETCH this week. The food exceeded expectations and the Scallops were amazing! Will definately be back!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Yet!Deb Parquette (spelling?) has outdone herself this time. We loved Cakewalk and dined frequently at Zola's, but Etch is a huge step up in terms of environment, polish, and food. It competes successfully with great restaurants in New York, San Francisco, or any other big city I've dined in. We entertained out-of-town friends at Etch and they were also impressed. A fantastic addition to the downtown area, which is definitely on the upswing. Very exciting!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm an out-of-towner & thisI'm an out-of-towner & this is my fourth ETCH visit. You can always count on a fantastic meal from Chef Pacquette! She changed up the beet salad from the last time I had it and it was wonderful. The scallops were perfect. The dessert was beyond perfect.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat New Downtown ChoiceThe roasted cauliflower and shortrib appetizers were as good as anything i have eaten in Nashville in the past 30 years. We shared the fish entree and was less pleased with it only because of the turkish spices which were not a fit for our tastes. The strawberry pana cotta dessert was tremendos. This was our first visit. Etch will become a permanent Top 5 in our restaurant rotation.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTop Dog in NashvilleEtch is now the Top Dog for the Nashville dining scene in my opinion. I expect them to get mentioned next in the Beard Awards.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AM2nd visitlove this restaurant!! amazing innovative unique cuisine. great service. great food.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and serviceDinner was fantastic and service was top notch. They had no problem modifying dishes to be vegan friendly. Not a great view or scenic part of town, but it is quality food and service.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPhenomenalEtch was arguably the finest meal I've ever had. Everything was perfect - the food, the ambiance, the service.......unmatched, in my opinion. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulousWe had the best meal here as part of a foodie road trip. Totally fresh, inventive flavor combinations5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique and DifferentThe atmosphere was very upscale and metro. The menu was unique and good. The food was tasty !5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI took a customer to EtchI took a customer to Etch for lunch and it was my first time dining there. We started with the cauliflower appetizer, which was delicious and interesting. My customer had the duck sandwhich and I had the brisket. The presentation was beautiful and the food was creative and delicious. I am looking forward to dining there for dinner.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFlavorfulGreat blend of flavors in every dish... limited selections on main menu, but each choice excellent5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMEasily 5 stars....One of the best dinners I've ever had. The roasted cauliflower appetizer was fantastic...smoky taste with a hint of truffle oil and a smoked pea pesto. The beet and berry salad was nicely portioned, with goat cheese complimenting the beets. The star of the show was the pork tenderloin...smoked tenderloin on a sliced potato bed, topped with chorizo sausage, porcini mushrooms, and mangego cheese, finished with a brown wild mushroom sauce and more of the pea pesto. Absolutely outstanding. Paired it with a Bonaccorsi pinot noir from So. Cal. Panna cotta with blood orange sorbet for dessert, and dinner was over way too soon. Our service was excellent...our waiter was very well-versed on the dishes and what went into them.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular dinner!A spectacular dinner from start to finish. Very unique and delicious food. We never had sparking Riesling before and it was excellent. The duck confit was superb as was the Etch salad. We both had the venison. Interesting blend of flavors that actually worked together extremely well. Service was impeccable.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful!!Had the filet this time, amazing! Anybody can just grill a steak, but Etch layers it with flavors by using the sous vide technique, finishing on the grill to medium rare, and adding accompaniments such as ribbons of perfectly fresh asparagus and duck "butter." Paired with the vegetable of the day, the "Southern Mushrooms," it was a perfect celebration meal.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest restaurant in Nashville?Chef Deb and her crew turn out wonderful food full of interesting flavors. Our server James was fabulous and his recommendations were excellent. Wine list is interesting (especially champagne) if a bit pricey so corkage at $20 not a bad way to go; upon request, my wine was decanted tableside. We will return!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AM3rd time and keeps getting betterThe drinks and cobia were excellent! Service was top notch! Will be back and recommend to everybody.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best in NashvilleI moved to Nashville in 1974. Divorced in 1979...single since, ...eaten out a lot!
I have eaten at ETCH twice. Both times were memoriable.
The food was excellent....the many different flavors, perfectly blended to provide a unique dining experience.
This is not an "inexpensive" restaurant, but I always come away thinking it was well worth it!
I do think this is the best meal in town! Need to polish up on their service...they are so very busy because they are so very good!
John Frenk5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a really enjoyableWe had a really enjoyable evening. The service was outstanding and we felt we were in New York, not Nashville, TN. We did not order the cobia dish because the diners at the next table said it was too sweet for their palate. Our dinner guests said this was typical of Cakewalk and Zola that I understand were the other restaurants that the chef/owner has had.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMMy guest loved itI was hosting guests who had never tried Etch. One lives in the area, and one travels here, frequently. They both loved their entrees and desserts - very excited about the restaurant!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!Excellent food and presentation. Pricey but worth the expense.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingOutstanding, outstanding, outstanding!! Need I say more?5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellence in NashvilleAt the top of the food scene in music city- will be a reason folks visiting remember Nashville as a food town- hats off to Deb Paquette for excellence. Creative menu full of flavor, fresh with great presentations . Everyone- from the greeter to reliable severs who came from the chefs previous place Zola -were friendly and helpful. Look for reasons to go there- J5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible!!!How many ways can you say INCREDIBLE! Food is exciting, service is spot on and the environment is modern but warm and inviting. Hade a sisters weekend with 3 coming from major restaurant markets. We all agreed that Deb P is not only a great chef but she is in a great restaurant.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe flavors in every dishThe flavors in every dish are unique and outstanding. It is a party in your mouth!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMYes, go!Food was inventive, beautiful, delicious. Open kitchen was amazingly calm for the level of busy-ness-very impressive. Server (Kim) very knowledgable, pleasant. Lovely experience.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMNashville's BestI would have to rate this one of my top restaurant choices in Nashville or any other city! The short rib appetizer was phenomenal. The roasted cauliflower with pea pesto was a "must have". There were four in our party and everyone claimed to have the best dish even though they were all different. The waiters were knowledgable about the food and wine. The service was as awesome as the food.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommendedDeb Paquette has shaped yet another gem in Nashville's dining scene!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMto the pointFantastic creations. very flavorful and very pretty.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best in townOne of the best in town. Great service, ambiance and food. I tried their Filet this time and it was outstanding. I've never had shaved asparagus with cream on top of a steak but it's making me hungry just talking about it. Highly recommend.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulousMy husband and I visited Nashville for a conference. Trip Advisor had rated this restaurant #3. It was fabulous. The food was prepared with an interesting twist of ingredients. So good!! The service couldn't be better. Make reservations ahead of time.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was OUTSTANDING!The food was OUTSTANDING! Absolutely get the roasted cauliflower appetizer, but plan to share it. The shortribs appetizer was also VERY tasty, with the meat melting in our mouths. The vegetable sides are too tempting to avoid, but the entree comes with more than enough food to make them superfluous. We had the eggplant camponata. We did learn from the first visit, sharing appetizers, skipping salad & only succumbing to a single vegetable. We will return & probably share our entrees so we can at least LOOK at the dessert menu.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDeb Paquette never fails toDeb Paquette never fails to provide incredible food. The Etch salad is wonderful - have had the lamb and venison both so full of complex flavors - a treat for the palate! I do not think there is anything on the menu that is not spectacular! This is where you take people who are true foodies!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous and unique menu.Fabulous and unique menu. Deb has done it again! Bravo!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall, a very good experience.Overall, a very good experience. Roasted cauliflower appetizer was the best vegetable dish we have ever had. Simple, but extremely effective technique that brings out the sweetness of the cauliflower. But the main dishes are too layered for our tastes -- too much going on that masks the flavor of the base protein (in our case, scallops and pork tenderloin). Portions are quite large; maybe best to order 2 appetizers & split a main course. Dining room is lovely, the place was packed & service was attentive. Definitely worth trying.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMLove At First Bite!It was love at first bite. Our meal started with the Etch salad and we knew right away that we were in for a real treat. Everything that followed lived up to the promise of that first delicious morsel. Terrific food, beautifully prepared and presented, is complimented by friendly and highly competent service, a gorgeous interior space, and a fine wine list. This is memorable dining, and I mean dining at its finest. Nashville has a new restaurant in town that tops the list of a growing number of fabulous new eateries. It is called Etch, and it is simply fabulous.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't go wrong!I am always weary of new restaurants, but fear not with Etch. An open floor plan allows you to people watch as well as peer into the open concept kitchen. While we didn't sit at the bar during our visit, it did seem a little awkwardly designed. The service was good, especially for a downtown restaurant who all seem to lack decent service. We brought our own wine and the cork fee was only $20, which is great. As for the food... YUMMY! We had the short-rib as well as the shrimp and octopus bruschetta, we shared the Beet and Berries salad.... all were AMAZING! For entrees I had the scallops and he had the pork loin... again, AMAZING! However I didn't care for the sorbets for dessert. All in all, Etch is a great addition to Nashville dining.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMid-South's best restaurant by farFar and away the most interesting restaurant between Louisville and Atlanta. The starters are creative and appealing, and the salads are amazing. The entree additions since earlier in 2013 are all excellent choices, and the wine list is deep (rather than broad). Great pacing, great service, lively but not too noisy.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was absolutely amazing! The food was absolutely amazing! I loved the roasted cauliflower appetizer and the cobia entree. Thank you for such lovely, innovative food!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous Restaurant!!This restaurant has excellent food and superb service! We ordered appetizers, salads, entrees and a dessert, and it was 120% delicious!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMVery unique menu with an unbelievabVery unique menu with an unbelievable array of colors, flavors and textures that combine to impress all of the senses. Perhaps a bit pricey, but it's worth every penny! Complementary valet parking is a bonus, especially if you are attending an event at the Schermerhorn across the street. Definitely planning to dine here again.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMMore than worthyA highly inventive menu, well executed, fresh, savory and satisfying from start to finish. As a former south Floridian, I was delighted to find one of my favorite fishes, cobia, on the menu. It was perfectly cooked and it sang with the sauces and sides. My sweet heart gushed over the lamb chops and the cauliflower appetizer is not to be missed. On the down side, the place is lively and just a bit noisy and the wine list was extremely uninventive and rather disappointing. Upon my next visit I will cull something from my cellar and pay corkage, as the wine list was that boring and not up tomthenstandards of the food.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGrown up, varied, & deliciouswe enjoyed a business Lunch with a well varied list of fresh salads, sandwiches and entrees. I compared to NYC prices for this kind of friendly but refined service, well considered fresh food and a grown up atmosphere the prices were very good but don't have Nashville experience to compare it to.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Experience for Solo DinerI visited Etch while in Nashville for a conference. Etch has a chef's bar, which as a solo diner I appreciated and enjoyed. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and about food and wine in general. The night I was there, they had sweetbreads as an appetizer special. The sweetbreads were perfectly cooked and served with a mirepoix of aromatics. The scallops entree was essentially a warm salad, with fresh greens and mushrooms prepared 3 ways. Dessert was the goat's milk panna cotta served with a blood orange sorbet. My only quibble was with the old fashioned I had before dinner; the taste was fine, but it was *not* an old fashioned (I'll stick to Merchants for my cocktails).4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMoutstanding every step ofoutstanding every step of the way. the menu was innovative without being full of itself, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was inviting, and most importantly the food tasted fantastic.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMEat hereGreat place to eat. The spare ribs appetizer was amazing. The lamb and the venison were both out of this world. Drinks were great. Would highly recommend Etch for any occasion. We will definitely be back.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch with FriendsWas there for lunch with 2 friends, the astompher was excellent for conversations,we each order a different meal and shared. Everything was excellent. We then had a wonderful dessert, never had peanut brittle on a cake, but I have to say I LOVED IT! I will recommend this is all my friends that are planning a trip to Nashville.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSo wonderful to have Deb PaquetteSo wonderful to have Deb Paquette back in Nashville cooking her amazing food. Inventive dishes with beautiful blends of flavor. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Cauliflower with truffle oil pea puree is of particular note.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMEtch is a MUST for foodies in NashyLove love LOVE Etch! Have been several times and it has never failed me. Excellent food, excellent service-- by far one of the best in town.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMEasy walking distance to BroadwayIf you're in downtown Nashville and looking for something a notch above the typical fare, great place for dinner.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
