Diner Reviews
  • "Love this place. It is a casual Al gem and worth the visit."

  • "Estrellita was surprisingly good for a small Mexican restaurant located amongst a number of other restaurants and shops just off of El Camino Real. The chips and two very spicy salsas were excellent, as were the enchilada suiza and chicken taco/chicken enchilada combination that my party ordered. Once again everything had a hotter flavor than usual and it was very good. The restaurant was not crowded so two waiters and the host were most attentive to our needs. Lunch pricing is most reasonable so we left convinced that Estrellita is a terrific choice for a casual, tasty lunch at an affordable price. We will definitely return."

  • "This restaurant has a special recipe passed down in their family for mole sauce. Excellent!"

  • "I'm amazed that more people don't know about La Estrellita. I guess it's only a matter of time before its mobbed! Excellently prepared dishes that you rarely find outside of Mexico. The rose-flavored mole special was superb, as was the Pipian that's on the regular menu. Very polite and attentive service."

  • "First time here, and we thought the mole poblano was excellent and the service fast and attentive. We look forward to trying other dishes. Restaurant opened a bit late, and we found that the wooden chairs were not very comfortable."

  • "You'll find authentic mexican fare here. There are ample options to choose from, all well prepared with fresh ingredients. It's great for a weeknight dinner, or for takeout if you're in the neighborhood."

  • "The decor at Estrellita was superb! It added a lot to our dining experience! In addition the food was so very good!"

  • "There was a general impression that quality was slipping. A couple of people noted that their food, chile rejenos and burritos, were not warm in the middle."

  • "If you happen to order a pitcher of margaritas and 5 minutes later get asked if you'd like to upgrade, ask for the price difference. $20 for food - $50 for a pitcher of margaritas that were just so-so. Big disappointment. First and last time I'll go there."
