Staff was pleasant and provided excellent service. Food was delicious - entrees were served quickly and piping hot. The Tzatziki appetizer was undoubtedly homemade and my Youvetsi (braised lamb shank) was fall off the bone tender - My date (who is Greek) had the Solomos which was also very good. He said that the Baklava was the biggest portion he had ever seen served at a restaurant and praised it for it's authenticity. We were very pleased on all levels...I will definitely be a returning patron!

Admittedly, I'm not a foodie but my wife and I loved Estia. Decided to venture out of our usual set of restaurants - definitely a good move!! We had the tray of dips (apologies for not using the actual Greek name) which were all great and more filling than expected. I ordered the Salmon and my wife ordered the Chicken Souvlaki - both were awesome! The portions were also the perfect size for us. We'll definitely return here in the future. I should mention that we dined at Estia on a Friday night the week after V-Day which might explain why it was pretty quiet and relaxed (not sure how other nights are). Still, it was great to be able to take our time and enjoy a nice quiet evening out in SoNo.

Semi-new restaurant but same owners and setup as previous incarnation at this location (was called Rouge before). Really good Greek food and is a welcome addition to the SoNo food scene. Seems to always be a little sleepy so not the kind of place to go for meeting new people in an upbeat atmosphere. However, we seem to always be able to get a table or seat at the bar without a reservation so it has become a go-to for us. Perfect for a quiet dinner or to relax with a bottle of wine.

We ate at Estia the day after Thanksgiving, so it might have been slow due to that fact. Very disappointed in the stuffed grape leaves - they had some kind of crispy ends which I couldn't see due to dim lighting. Went to cut into one and knife wouldn't even penetrate! Called waitress and told her. She said she would replace it and brought back 2 grape leaves to replace the hard one and the one left on the plate. I thought this was a poor way to handle this problem...either replace the order or don't charge for the appetizer. Souvlaki was good and husband enjoyed his lamb shank. Must admit the problem with the stuffed grape leaves put a bad spin on the evening, but might give the restaurant one more try.

Food was great, authentic Greek flavours, great decor, all the staff were very charming. Chose Mezedes rather than main meals and it was really great except for the Kefthedes which were like rocks... when asked why we didnt eat them, I explained they were just not like my Yia Yia used to make and to my surprise they were promptly removed from the bill... very unexpected and great customer service

Wonderful new Greek restaurant in SoNo! Food was fabulous! All of the usual appetizers were on the menu but we tried some things we don't usually get... grilled octopus was succulent. Phylo enrobed feta with honey and pistachios is a DON'T MISS! We both ate the whole sea bass, served with lovely fresh herbs and a lemon sauce - incredible! The food was one notch above the traditional Greek restaurant. We will definitely be going back. It is a new restaurant and I hope they do well! The only downside was the tables were so close together, we were right on top of the next table and every time the waitress walked behind me there was such little room, my coat was knocked off each time. Otherwise, excellent!

Estia was a last minute find for a Friday night dinner. The service, food and ambiance were excellent. Estia is more upscale Greek, definitely not what you find at most Greek restaurants around here. The wine list was on an iPad, which made searching easier. The bottle list focuses on Greek wines and the bottle we selected was excellent. We would definitely go again.

We were greatly immediately upon arrival and seated up front at the window. Our waitress came over right away to take our drink orders and returned with warm bread and spread. She was also very helpful in explaining some of the menu items that we were not familiar. The appetizer that we shared with the rest of our party was excellent and more than filling. The main courses that we ordered good to very good. My wife was not entirely pleased with her dish and our friend's wife sent her dish back because she said it was not the way it was described. The replacement dish was excellent. We topped off the meal with a great desert. We will return to sample either items from the menu.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2005
    Dined on 9/29/2012
My husband is Greek and a bit snobbish about Greek food, so we were both so glad to find this place. Meatballs, tatziki, salad and octopus were excellent. I had the whole sea bass and my husband had the lamb souvlaki and they were great. Lemon potatoes were perfect too! Service was excellent, as we were the only people there at 5:30 on a Saturday. Had a great dessert that was phyllo dough with vanilla cream filling. Cons: only two types of tea offered (lemon and green), espresso machine was not there yet as restaurant was new still, and wine list could be better (it was, obviously heavily Greek wine, which was fine with us but others might want more variety). Overall, wonderful experience and we will go back to try more dishes.

Most importantly we all loved the food. The service was very good, but at times we felt a bit rushed. We had barely finished our appetizers when our main courses arrived. The owner was very helpful with our wines selections and our waitress patiently explained all the "authentic" Greek dishes. It was a little too loud for our liking, but we attributed that more to the small size of the place and the very loud foursome next to us.

We went for dinner Saturday night; loved the menu selection, and the owner and waitstaff were all personable and helpful. A bunch of appetizers could easily serve as a meal and our starters and main courses tasted great. However, service could use some help. The appetizers first delivered to our table were meant for the table next to us. Then, I had ordered the Pastitsio as my main course; however, it was evidently given to another table as I got a Mousaka, which I didn't realize until after I starting eating it. While the server offered to correct this, there seemed to be general confusion during dinner between the kitchen, waitstaff and runners. Hopefully this will be corrected for the future.

This newly opened upscale Greek restaurant is a nice addition to SoNo. The food is great and the service friendly. I was there the night the opened and again about a week later. The fish dish I had was delicious, and the lamb chops perfectly seasoned and cooked. We sat for hours and long after we paid our bill, as the place was empty (it was a Tuesday night). But no one rushed us out the door. We will continue to go back!

I realize this is a new restaurant and I honestly feel that new establishments often need to work harder to make people understand how good they are but the folks at Estia didn't seem to want to work hard for anyone. Items on the menu are not as they are listed.."tradiational Greek salad" was smothered in capers....after asking if the chicken dish came with a side, the waitress said, ok, we can give you a potato...so the dish came with one potato wedge that looked like it was scraped off someone else's plate. the dip platter came with ONE (Yes ONE) piece of pita bread....and we were charged $1 for the next pita bread! How on Earth can two people, share one pita bread with 4 dips! Not going back to this place! Eos in Stamford is 100% better!
