  • We had a wonderful anniversary

We had a wonderful anniversary celbration with attentive service. We were saddened to hear that this delightful restaurant will be closing shortly. If you haven't eaten here, make it your mission to experience this beautiful setting in the next month. There was no corkage fee on weeknights making this very affordable as well.

I haven't had this bad a dining experience in quit awhile. It took me and my guest 3 hours to get served and the food was intolerable. Please vote with your feet until this restaurant improves. The calamari appetizer was like round rubber bands served in a chick pea sauce that didn't work at all. The antipasti course was bizarre and the best thing on it was the olives which required no intervention or "cooking" from the kitchen. The final entree was pork, fingerling potatoes and white beans from the garden and was visually unattractive as it was a plate of beige. The peach cake for dessert was good. Finally, the server could not speak English and had distinct trouble with describing the dishes.

Too bad this restaurant is now closed and under new ownership. My only complaint is that I had a gift certificate for the 3 restaurants in this ownership. Girl & Fig, Fig Cafe and Estate. When I presented my G.Cert. at the end of the meal I was told it wasn't good for that venue. Huh? It was clearly represented in the literature with the G. Cert. with not mention of exclusion. Paid the bill, no problem but seems like a bad practice.

Really enjoyed our anniversary dinner. Host was very accommodating and helped us to a better table when we were cold near the back porch door. Food was spactacularly fulfilling. Salumi plate was spactacular. Our only qualm was that we won't be able to return!!!!!

the waitress was clearly more attentive to a party of 8 that was ordering lots of cocktails and bottles of wine...she forgot about our 2nd glasses of wine, and was a vague about some of the menu items...The lamb sirloin tasted like it was the hanger steak on the wrong plate, it was too chewy.. Weather was great as was eating outside, and we had our choice of tables

While the food was good the martini they served was atrocious, so bad in fact we sent them back. The second was improved but not that much. We question whether they served the brand of gin requested. While the redeeming quality was the food served. It was tasty. I doubt if we will return to this restaurant.

This was our first time at Estate. All four of us loved our main courses. The food was affordably priced, hard to find in Napa/Sonoma and the selections were varied and interesting. Our only complaint was this: the music was too loud! I hate to compete with music in a restaurant. The evening would have been even better had the music been turned down a notch. We would return to Estate for another meal.

This was recommended to us by one of the local wineries and was better than we could have imagined. Food was outstanding and nearly all had the option of full or half portions, so we were able to try a bunch of entrees. Can't comment on the wine list as we brought our own bottle. This is our new favorite for Sonoma.

We had a excellent date night at Estate. Both my husband and I were very pleased with our meals. We had an early reservation at 6 pm for dinner and I felt like this was a good choice as the restaurant became very full around 7. I wanted to try a number of things so I really was happy to have the 1/2 order option. I will definitely be returning.

After finishing our appetizer and waiting 40 minutes, we had to chase down our waiter to ask about the whereabouts of our lost pizza. After another 15 minutes our vastly underdone pizza finally arrived. Clearly the restaurant was over-whelmed and under-staffed. They had several large parties. However, since these were all pre-booked they should have known what staffing levels were required. Not impressed!

Our first experience wasn't that great. Our party of eight was seated outdoors and that was lovely. We all rated the food just OK which was a surprise since we'd heard great things and since they're part of the excellent Girl and the Fig group. Only the two of us who had the Arctic char were pleased. I tried to make Ambiance Very Good but the page wouldn't accept it.

I really enjoyed dining outdoors and having the option to go for a small plates menu, with lots of wood-fired options. We were dining with our 9-year old granddaughter who gave both the hand-crafted Shirley Temple and the meatballs a big thumbs up! I loved both the blistery-crusted pizza and the opportunity to enjoy a local small-batch Syrah.

  • Our disappointment in Estate
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 5/27/2012
Our disappointment in Estate lies in their customer service. We made our reservations via Open Table. Somehow, they did not take our request, to be seated outside on the patio, seriously. We were told if we could wait "a minute" they would find something outside. After a very long wait (during which, we noticed that a solo diner at a table for four was leisurely reading a book with her leftovers on the table) when I asked twice if something was wrong with our reservation and I was told it would only "be a minute." Finally, we were given a table on the upper patio where the wind was unpleasant. Even a patio heater didn't help. Eventually, we went inside to a tiny, awkward table. The reception staff seemed disorganized and clueless.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

Four of us, including an 8 yr. old, had the multi-course family style dinner. It was too exotic for the child, but there is no children's menu. She had a cheese pizza, way too big and burned on edges for a high cost. The rest of us thought the meal was creative, fresh and very well executed. For all the the many courses we felt $26 p/person was quite reasonable. Wines are not---by the glass they are small portions with large price tags. Also there are few recognizable names of wineries on their menu, probably because they are for afficionados. Our server was very difficult to understand between his thick accent and the noise level! He was attentive and made no mistakes, but we felt his English should have been better for that job.

Sitting outside for brunch at Estate on a sunny Sunday morning is one of the nicest experiences you can have in wine country! There is an outdoor fireplace and plenty of shade from pretty umbrellas. The mood is very relaxed and idyllic. The meal starts with tasty corn buns served with butter and homemade fig jam. There are several fun brunch cocktails to chose from. I highly recommend this place for weekend brunch.

Eating out at Estate Restaurant was the best meal of our trip, and we were in Beverly Hills before that! The food was unpretentious, great ingredients intelligently prepared.
