Estancia was less expensive than the other in town, and the food was just as good. Extensive drink and dessert menu, more meat options, but a smaller salad bar. The salad bar choices made up for the size, though. The service was excellent and our plates were never empty. Great place for a nice date, but it doesn't feel "stuffy" or too formal. I had been there once before but he had never been and the our waiter and servers were very helpful to us, making sure that we had everything we needed and all of our questions answered. All of the meats that we tried were delicious but we especially loved the lamb chops. Everything was so flavorful and juicy. The overall experience was very exciting and romantic as well. The salad bar is very good!! I could have made a meal just on that alone. There is a nice variety of meats to try, and the flavors are good, but most are undercooked for our personal liking. If you like meat rare to med rare then this is the place for you! Wait staff were very nice and attentive. Place was very clean and not so noisy you couldn't carry on a conversation. All in all a very good experience and would go back again. There weren't many customers when we arrived but it was getting busier by the time we left. But we were always treated very courteously. The food was outstanding. Everything was presented extremely professionally (including wine presentation). The salad bar was varied and was more than enough for one of my party. Meats were presented quickly and when I asked for a specific chop it was brought out quickly. The Key lime pie was exquisite!
Our reservation was for 6PM. By 7PM almost every table as full -- and it was quite loud. Two of my guests had hearing impairments, and even though we were in a corner, it was getting hard to communicate. The salad bar is unlike any other you've tasted. There was such a large choice of vegetables, cheese and antipasto besides salads, it was delicious. Then the chefs bring various meats to your table the whole evening. We tried a Brazilian cocktail and dessert that our waiter suggested which were excellent. Then he offered us an after dinner liquor that we had never had and it was tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant. Big salad bar, with lots of options to start your meal out with. Then a bunch of wait staff going around the restaurant with a nice variety of meat on skewers. They are all good, but the house steak and the lamb are excellent. They serve the meat with a variety of seasonings, so you are sure to find one you like.
We've been there a couple of times. If you are going there on a feasting holiday like Mother's Day: it will be crowded, and there will be a lot of noise due to the crowd as well as the large number of wait staff moving around the restaurant. If you have problems with constant movement and sound - avoid Estancia on those days.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMgood food service could be betterAlthough there's lots of meats coming and the thought is that you'll get the meat that you want, it really wasn't executed in that fashion. I wanted to start out with lamb or lamb chops first. I had to repeat myself to multiple guys until I finally got lamb maybe 10 minutes later, even though one meat server would promise that he'll go get it. This happened throughout the meal. I also felt that the main waiter was a tad unattentive to us and didn't come to our table that often. I still recommend it. It was mother's day. It was fun we tried new foods without being afraid - if we liked it we asked for more. The concept is cool perfect if you have a large group of hungry people. The waiters seem to instinctively know when someone has turned over a card to green for more food, because your table suddenly has three or four waiters with different meats on skewers ready to carve you a piece of meat. The service was prompt - we had our drinks, including a glass of wine, before we got back from the salad bar! The servers we great - it didn't take long to get whatever you needed, whenever you got low on any of the sides or your plate looked over-used, they were there and ready to exchange them.
The food was phenomenal! I've been to similar restaurants before, they seem to be a part of the same chain because everything from the layout of the restaurants to the taste of the food was exactly the same.

The food was good, and the salad bar had a lot of variety. It was my son's birthday and they gave him an elaborate dessert that he loved. My only issue was with the salad bar. They were changing it out in the middle of our meal, and it was difficult to go back for seconds with no spoons. They were apologetic but it was disconcerting, and I decided not to go back to try the items I had left for later. The other thing I noted - the side dishes (garlic potatoes, bread, polenta and bananas) were brought to the table, but not replenished. We have been to Fogo De Chao in Austin, and these were constantly refilled. I'm not a big meat eater but found the salad bar and side dishes delicious. Husband said he remembered Fogo having more choices but had plenty to try at Estancia. The service & presentation were outstanding. Excellent flan and molten chocolate cake for dessert. Ambience was relaxed fine dining. The service we received here could not have been any better. The gauchos made it a point to be sure we had what we needed without making us feel crowded or rushed. As a matter of fact, most of them took into account what our favorite cuts were and always seemed to know exactly when to come back and deliver more
The meat itself was cooked and seasoned to perfection. If you didn't like the perparation of a particular cut, you could request it to be cooked to your liking
