From the talents behind Proof, Estadio recently debuted on trendy 14th St NW, above Logan Circle. Diner Reviews
  • "second time to Estadio and it was perfect. Our waiter was great-attentive with great recommendations but not annoying. The food was great. We ordered 4 desserts which we almost never do, and all were perfect. Highly recommend the white sangria!"

  • "This was out first time at estadio, and we loved it! Everything was delicious, and we left full and happy. Great drink selection as well. We will definitely be going back!"

  • "It seemed slightly off and disorganized. Food was ok, but not memorable. Too many good restaurants in DC to risk returning."

  • "We had tried to eat here a couple of times and it was always too busy or we couldn't get last minute reservations. This time we made reservations 3 days in advance, and it was worth the extra planning! Every dish we ordered was fabulous, easily rivaling more well known Spanish restaurants in the city. The service was gracious but not overbearing; our tapas dishes arrived one at a time with just the amount of "rest time" between them. Bread was amazing, Sangria drinks delicious and unique- -in short a great dining experience."

  • "We had a great dinner overall and everything was a 10. The waiter's suggestions were right on and the wine was outstanding. Thank you Estadio!"

  • "Unfortunately, I ordered the Foie Gras Scrambled Eggs with Black Truffle Butter. The eggs were fine but a bit too salty. I was disappointed with the toast, which was BURNT (one side was all black--which means I was consuming carcinogens). I would recommend going to dine for dinner or something. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Pine Nuts, Caramelized Onions & Currants was very good, though."

  • "Our party of 4 were first timers and we had an excellent experience. Our waiter was knowledgeable not only about the dishes and some of the best ones to try but also about the wine. We tried one bottle that we liked and then asked him to bring a second that was similar. We liked that even better and it was less expensive. The brussels sprouts were very good - both ways. One is a slab of thick bacon with brussels on top. Not a diet dish but so good. The other is just the brussels sprouts but prepared in a unique and flavorful way. Really everything we tried was very tasty, including desserts."

  • "We had an early 5:00 reservation for 4, my husband and I with our teen and 9 year old. It was empty when we arrived but quickly filled up. The menu is small tapas style plates divided into sections. The 4 types of jamon were very good, the scallops with cauliflower was excellent, and the Brussels sprouts were divine. My son loved the smoked salmon with yogurt and honey on toast, but not much else. This is a great place to try different wines by the glass - great variety of options."

  • "Cheese plate was good. Meat options were underwhelming. Vegetable plates were poor. Service was poor."

  • "The restaurant was rather loud and somewhat crowded--not ideal for a quiet, intimate evening. There are many selections of food for all tastes, we especially liked the pork belly sandwiches and baby chorizo with potato crisps. The drink menu had many choices (including a gin slushie that was pretty delicious), but they were small and too pricey for the size. Our waiter seemed annoyed that we kept ordering more food and drinks, but she was relatively attentive, but overall not super pleasant."

  • "Our visit to Estadio was the best dining experience we've had in ages! The food was outstanding and the service impeccable."

  • "We recently dined at Estadio, and although the food was wonderful, the service was not. The wait time for ordering drinks, getting those drinks, and getting our meal were unacceptable. Estadio seems to be one of those restaurants where they are intent to cram in as many tables as possible. The result is that the wait staff are left to navigate very narrow one person aisles between the tables. Everything just seemed cramped."

  • "The food that was recommended by our server was delicious however the portions were overpriced and too small. We left hungry. Went to a different restaurant to fill up without emptying our pockets. Fun atmosphere."

  • "The brussel sprouts, short rib (very tender), and octopus (great flavor) were my favorite! We sat by the chef's table/bar and enjoyed the ambiance."

  • "Reliably, this is the best small-plate restaurant in DC. I have eaten there more than a dozen times and it does not disappoint. Bravo!"

  • "We have known of Estadio, but have not have an opportunity to dine there until recently, a post-Valentines repast. Once seated at a window table for two and having had an opportunity to peruse the menu and wine list, we felt transported to Madrid’s Plaza Mayor, except that we were seated at 5:30pm, much too early for such seating in Madrid. Madrileño cuisine, strongly influenced by foreigners over the years, has been additionally modified to meet the District’s appreciation of things fusion. We enjoyed six different offerings and four wines, and were pleased that the desert designed for Valentine’s Day remained available for us. Visit soon for a great meal. Estadio is a destination restaurant, and we don't need passports to visit."

  • "Cheese plate was great, short rib was tender and flavorful, i have no idea how they made the octopus so delicious. Beet and goat cheese sandwich was pretty yummy, too. Will be back!"

  • "My wife and I met some friends there for brunch on Sunday just as they opened. While the food was great, the ever increasing amount of guests seemed to overwhelm our waitress. At one point, I felt like standing up and rudely flagging her down. That doesn't detract from the delicious hangar steak and eggs I had. The patatas were excellent. We also ordered a side of the brussel sprouts, which were heavenly. I highly recommend Estadio and look forward to going back for dinner some time."

  • "when you first walk in, the ambience and vibe hit you first. The food is good, not great. As it is so busy and popular you feel rushed. That is not tapas, you should order one dish, some wine and relax. The dishes come out too fast, this is not McDonalds. They have different menus for vegan, veggie, gluten etc. While this seems like a good idea, it segregates some customers. One menu, with symbols or colours to denote styles. They have some very hot and spicy dishes, either make note on the menu or have the servers inform the customers."

  • "We go to a lot of great restaurants because of our jobs and travel, but rarely have we had a meal that was this all-around great. The menu is the perfect mix of "something different" and "something delicious." Tapas-size plates encourage sharing: we enjoyed a range of dishes - from artisinal Iberica ham to the most perfectly prepared scallops on lentils to Manchego cheescake w/ caramel - every one a winner. The service was perfect - attentive, informed, but not hovering. The cocktails and wine were superb, including astute recommendations from Max (the Som.), who lovingly guided us through a carefully selected list of offerings from Spain. We're still talking about it 3 days later ... you can bet we'll be back soon. Bravo, Estadio!"

  • "A surprising entrée - crispy bacon with Brussels sprouts was outstanding. I didn't know what to expect and was amazed at the "slab" of bacon I received. It was wonderfully crispy and gooood. Also amazing was the sherry cocktail. A lot of superlatives! The server was attentive, personable and knowledgeable."

  • "I love fino sherry with my tapas, but at $11 a "copa," it's a bit much."

  • "My family had Sunday brunch there this past weekend and we enjoyed the food very much. Our waitress on the other hand was not the most attentive. I do not require my waitress to have a constant smile, but I do like eye contact while I'm trying to place my order. However, the fresh-squeezed orange juice was excellent and all the sides and main plates were seasoned well and very tasty. The cartoons on the TV's over the bar were a nice touch for Sunday brunch."

  • "Im a very picy eater and was never a big fan of Spanish food because my first experience was Jaleo, which i really dont like. Estadio runs circles around Jaleo. The options are better quality and the food is great. The service is also good. The worst part about Estadio and reason I dont go often is parking.:( Its a nightmare and the closest metro is quite a distance especially considering the weather this winter. I will go back in the spring when its warmer and I can take the metro. Otherwise its one of the better restaurants in the district."

  • "The white sangria is very delicious but should be offered in pitchers because your server will get tired of all the trips to the bar. Small plates are very well prepared and delicious. The seared froi gras was so outstanding that we half-jokingly referred to it as our dessert. It definitely had to be the last savory-sweet bite to end a memorable meal. While there from 6 to 7:30pm, the place filled up every seat but, remarkably, the sound was not overwhelmingly loud. A normal conversation level was maintainable throughout the entire experience. Great for Friday date nights. Also, Estadio has the best location for catching a performance at Studio Theatre."

  • "I've wanted to come to Estadio for months, but they're always booked for dinner weeks in advance. I was happy to get a last minute brunch reservation, and it was great. I had the marinated olives and a "classic" Spanish omelette, while my husband had foie gras omelette with truffle butter and an arugula salad. Delicious! I hope I eventually get a reservation for dinner!"

  • "We started out by ordering their house bread which was excellent and a glass of red sangria which was a bit watered down. We got carried away ordering tapas by sampling 10 tapas, five seafood (shrimp, mussels, squid, scallops, & octopus) and five meats (grilled chicken, short ribs, pork loin, baby chorizos, & hanger steak). With the exception of the Spice Grilled Chicken, Cabbage Slaw, Rice, Salsa Loca, we loved the presentation and exquisite flavor of all the tapas served. The grilled chicken was OK but the seasoning seemed more as India based rather than Spanish based, not what we expected. The service was also excellent. The place was crowded but not noisy and the atmosphere was pleasant. The tapas ranged from 12 to 15 dollars."

  • "I've been to Estadio twice before for cocktails with some girlfriends and their house specialties don't disappoint, however, this time I went for a pre-theater dinner and was really happy with what we found. The service was great - the waiter made great food and wine recommendations and didn't rush us through dinner. The food portions were a great size for a tapas restaurant, especially in comparison to some others in the city. We strongly recommend starting with some cured meats and cheese, then enjoy the grilled octopus, patatas bravas, and brussel sprouts - all delicious!"

  • "had another outstanding dinner at Estadio on NYE. terrific selection of tapas/small plates. despite being new year's eve, service was excellent and we were not rushed at all. a thoroughly enjoyable dinner. of special note: chorizo and manchego bites (as always); smoke salmon open face; pork belly sandwich; duck and hanger steak"

  • "Our group of four was very enthusiastic about our Saturday night dinner at Estadio. The food was wonderful--we all enjoyed everything we ordered. Don't forget to have bread with your meal; it's some of the best around. We shared two desserts, which were outstanding (pear tart and chocolate-hazelnut cake). (The noise level is pretty high, though, and it would be hard for groups larger than four to have a conversation.) We're all looking forward to our next visit! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a place with wonderful food and a lively atmosphere."

  • "The food was outstanding--a lovely pate with pistachios and cherries; small blistered peppers with just the right amount of heat; scallops and cauliflower; and manchego cheesecake with quince paste. Nice selection of wines. I appreciated that even though it was a busy Friday night, they seated me at a small table for two near the window instead of at the long communal table. It's probably more ideal to go with another person or a group to be able to share a larger number of tapas, but I was comfortable dining alone. I'd certainly return."

  • "Estadio like always provided some of the best Spanish food in the city and while the staff didi their absolute best to try and ruin our evening thankfully the strength of the food got us through. This could be a marvelous place is the slightest efforts were paid to the customers. If you want great food while being ignored Estadio is the place for you."

  • "Estadio has a nice menu, that at first glance looks very reasonably priced. The food is good, but portions are small -- it's really more in the style of a tapas bar, although they carefully avoid that phrase. Just be aware of that, and suitably aware of the implications for the size of the final bill, or the likely hunger an hour or two later."
