EstadioYummy white sangriaPre-theater dining before a show! Food was delish and the white sangria to die for. Perfect evening on a hot, late spring evening.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food!Every dish we tried was delicious. The only caveat is some people have a hard time with tapas as they prefer eating their own full meal. I absolutely loved it and would go back again.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAdding to our special dayWe went to Estadio for a special occasion. The service was outstanding. Very attentive and friendly. Food was excellent and small plates were just what we were looking for. Food was excellent.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Experience!Thank you so much Estadio, we had a fantastic time. Everything exceeded our expectations, we'll be back.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Dinner!Really enjoyed dinner at Estadio. Started with the olives and bread, both good. Then had the beet salad, which was very nice. For dinner I had the grilled octopus which was delicious and perfectly cooked. Had both the white and red sangria, both were good but the white sangria was very refreshing. Finished off the night with a latte and the chocolate cake which was just wonderful. Definitely will be back to Estadio and hopefully soon! :)5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were very pleasantly surprisedWe were very pleasantly surprised by this little neighborhood gem. And it's right across the street from Studio Theater, very convenient for pre- or after theater dining. Highly recommendable place!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious MealMy meal at Estadio was one of the best meals I have had in DC in three years of living here. I had high expectations heading into Estadio, and the meal did not disappoint.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommended! If we lived in D.C., we would be regulars. We have dined here 3 times and have loved each experience. Despite the large crowds, the staff is friendly and accommodating. We'll be back!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb Spanish FoodJust got back from Barcelona, and this was a similar experience. Everything was wonderful. Save room for the chocolate hazelnut cake with ice cream and chocolate sauce if you have a sweet tooth.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodThough very crowded and noisy, the food was delicious and I liked the sort of old world , rustic Spanish
decor. Good drinks too.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMEstadio's "G&T" a winnerEstadio is a tapas bar that tries very hard with its food. Some dishes are excellent (the delightful duck) while others were something of a disappointment (Beet salad).
Nevertheless, the atmosphere is very good, the waiter knowledgeable, and perhaps even more importantly, the gin and tonics were enlightened and pushed the experience up a whole level. We tried two and they were excellent: original flavour combinations, not too sweet and holding on to enough of the bitter character to satisfy, yet so well put together that it appeals to those who don't like gin as well.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMbest Spanish tapas in DCEvery dish that I've ever eaten at Estadio has been excellent. The Sangria was a nice treat as well. I can't wait to go to Spain if this is what the food is like!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighborhood spotThe food was delicious and fun. Fabulous cocktails and okay wine list.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic Tapas Restaurant in DCGreat experience, every dish filled with flavor and wine selection excellent. Great ambiance and style.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThoroughly ImpressedThe Grilled Octopus was a win! The presentation was lovely and it impressed my tastebuds to the fullest. The Spice Chicken with slaw and rice was also fantastic as it had a nice kick, crisp grilled skin, and perfectly moist interior. My boyfriend and I were satisfied with two plates each and sharing the cheesecake with pistachio granola (I would absolutely go back simply for this dish alone). Our server brought wine to sample simply because we expressed interest in the particular blend, and we really enjoyed his presence. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend Estadio for a date night or small group dinner.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and cocktailsThis was our first time at Estadio, and we went for brunch. The halibut was perfectly cooked and we both enjoyed the not-too-sweet french toast dish. We had heard the cocktails were incredible and were pleased they lived up to our expectations - particularly the blueberry and bourbon slushie. I'm just sad I didn't have room for the pastries, as they looked amazing. My only complaint would be the speed of service. Despite it being fairly empty inside, our dishes took quite a while to emerge from the kitchen.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBravo Estadio! One of the best meals we have had in DC. Loved the RI calamari! We'll be back soon.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative cocktails, but onCreative cocktails, but on the expensive side. Food was outstanding. Only complaint is that at one point the waiters apparently decided we had been there long enough and just cleaned off the table without even asking us if we wanted to order more -- which we did. We sat at the bar briefly before going to our table and the bartender was very friendly.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLive two blocks away. LoveLive two blocks away. Love it. Just wish they could open for lunch every day. Patatas Bravas is the best potato dish I've ever had, and I spend 3-4 months a year in Peru, the home of the potato.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI brought some friends whoI brought some friends who were visiting from New York to Estadio for lunch. When they asked what was good on the menu, I said (and genuinely meant), "Everything." They were a bit dubious, but by the time we finished our meal, they agreed. Love this place.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a lot of questionsWe had a lot of questions about the food descriptions. It would help if you knew spanish, but even then you might wonder. The waitress was very patient with us and made us feel very comfortable despite our lack of experience with a tapas dining experience. She really knew her menu including the wine to recommend that fit my food choice. Food was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place. Nice neighborhood too.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything we ordered wasEverything we ordered was fabulous & our waitress & everyone else there was wonderful. However, the friend I was with does not eat pork. When we ordered the hanger steak, we didn't think it came with pork, but when it arriived, we noticed there were little pieces of pork in the sauce. My friend wouldn't eat it & we suggested to the manager that they indicate on the menu that there is pork in the sauce. The manager was great - She apologized profusely and gave us 2 dishes for free. We love Estadio & we'll be back as soon as possible!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting food -lively atmosphereUsually small plates are not my thing but here each of the 10 plates (shared by four)was outstanding. The menu is varied and preparation reminiscent of meals in Spain. Wait staff is terrific: efficient, pleasant, responsive. Just be prepared for a long wait.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe 2 cocktails I had withThe 2 cocktails I had with house-infused tonic were super flavorful. But the best was courteous & personable service by Hernan J.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's a fun place. OverpricedIt's a fun place. Overpriced and one of our dishes was too salty. The other dish was delicious and the bread and olive oil were good. Very nice waiter.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent andThe food was excellent and the atmosphere was fun. Can't wait to go back!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious!Absolutely loved Estadio, especially the crispy brussel sprouts. Definitely a must try!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious Spanish food-- tapasDelicious Spanish food-- tapas style. Love sitting at the back bar and watching the chefs prepare the food. The staff is always excellent and knowledgeable. I don't think the sangria is particularly good, but Spanish wine selection is excellent and even the bottles under $40 have been excellent. I've never had anything on the food menu that I didn't enjoy. Everything is always fresh an cooked to perfection. Also, the portions are a perfect size--unlike many other tapas restaurants where they can be quite small. Love Estadio and can't wait to go back!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe asked for - and got - aWe asked for - and got - a quiet table early in the evening so were able to enjoy the fabulous range of tastes and conversation as well. This is the perfect place for dinner before a play at Studio.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time atThis was our first time at Estadio, and it won't be our last. The food was interesting and varied, and the service was quite good. Estadio is not like many of the other tapas chains. The list of choices was big enough but changes to address what's fresh and in season. As a vegetarian, I was a bit limited in my choices; a lot of the food has bacon or ham in the preparation, as you would expect for a Spanish restaurant. But there was enough on the menu for me to eat, and what I had was yummy. Also, the portion sizes are big enough that you can order one or two things and have a light meal -- another advantage over some of the tapas places that serve a thimble-sized portion.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen often, always excellent.Been often, always excellent. Lemon tart was sublime - hope it's a permanent addition to the menu.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMService was excellent; foodService was excellent; food was delicious -- what more could I want?3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food could not be moreThe food could not be more fabulous. One of our new favorites. Can't wait to go back to try everything on the menu.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first time atThis was my first time at a Tapas restaurant. We have eaten it at home (not Spanish, just foodies), so I was familiar with the style and a few of the dishes. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful in choosing items.
We could easily have just let the server choose for us and we'd have been pleased. We did take his recommendation on cheese, vegetable, and steak.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMStop in before going to StudioEverything we tried was tasty, including both varieties of sangria.1/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
