  • "If you are in the area it's a must go, beautiful, cozy, delicious"

  • "Espana never disappoints. It is our go to place for special occasions. This time it was for my retirement. We had wonderful shrimp ceviche, the special of the night (snapper with shrimp and scallops), sangria, and tiramisu. Waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. Fabulous all around."

  • "We usually end up there close to our anniversary and it has become very special to us....romantic and has a great wine list and sangria. Service is always excellent and attentive. Food arrives at table looking good and steaming....best clams I have had in a long time and very well cleaned!! We have lived in Europe and know Mediterranean cooking well....this is good Med food!! Entire menu is well thought out and the sauces are excellent."

  • "Relaxed, cozy feel. Excellent dishes including paella, beef and spicy Grouper. Delicious sangria similar to what we had in Barcelona. Very flavorful olive oil dip with the bread."

  • "When visiting the area we had to eat at La Espana agsin. The Portuguese Fisherman's Stew is my favorite item on the menu. It is made for two people and comes out still bubbling. It has a touch of spice but is so good! Whenever in the area, we will be back."

  • "We loved it. Great food and very unusual. I'm a big Seinfeld fan and always wondered what Paella is. I had it here and it was fantastic!"

  • "This was our second visit to Espana and we can't wait for our third one ! We made reservations for 6:30 on the evening of the 4th of July and were glad we did ! We knew from our previous visit that we were going to try the Portuguese Fisherman's Stew on our next visit so that is what we did. Because this dish is so large we chose not to order any of Espana's delicious Tapas offerings but we did have the small garden salad which was wonderfully fresh and served with an outstanding house dressing ! The entree arrived in a large clay pot filled with steaming morsels of shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, calamari and fish all submerged in the most delicious broth we have ever eaten ! A Great dining experience !"

  • "This restaurant was recommended to us by the Hampton inn, this is a very friendly place saff are very helpful with good advice about the menu. The food is extremely good, also very nice wine list. We enjoyed our evening in this restaurant, it was my partners birthday."

  • "My wife and I were recently at the Ritz in Amelia Island to celebrate our anniversary. One of the staff members recommended Espana to us - I was skeptical thinking that it was just a place that the hotel people were sending the guests to. My wife and I went for dinner after reading several on line reviews and were not disappointed! Nice, casual place with some interesting things on the menu. We tried some tapas, a seafood entree and a paella. All selections were very good! My only disappointment was with the bread - a higher quality, warm bread would have been great for sopping up the amazing Mozambique sauce! We will definitely go back on our next trip down there."

  • "We went to dinner there for our Anniversary. We have seen great reviews for the past couple of years and decided to give it a try. It is a small and intimate restaurant. The waitstaff were all very friendly. The escargo was delicious and the drunken clams were fantastic. We also had the Sangria which was really good too. We heard a women rave about the Fisherman's Stew on our way in, so we decided to give that a try for our main dish. We weren't disappointed, it was wonderfully delicious! This is a dish to be shared by two and it was a very generous portion. If you are in town and want a really great meal you should give Espana a try. We will definately be back next year!"

  • "We came for the Paella and it was yummy! I wish the scallops were sea scallops instead of teeny, tiny bay scallops, but it was tasty and super fast. Our waiter was attentive and the food came out quicy, unusual in my experience with Spanish restaurants."

  • "The appetizers were great, however the paella was mostly rice, had 2 shrimp, 3 mussels, and two pieces of chicken. It was however, LOADED WITH SALT. Stick to the appetizers. The kitchen also messed up and one of the four of us got his dish 10 minutes before the rest of us."

  • "The atmosphere is like being in Spain - fun and lively. The fact that one can have small tastes of different dishes (tapas) or a complete dinner makes Espana a great choice for anyone in your party."

  • "On vacation on Amelia Island we picked this restaurant based on reviews and were not disappointed. We were greated at the door with a smile and the comment "we have your table waiting". We got immediate attention by wait staff who were also all smiles, friendly, and informative. We chose to share a few tapas and have main dishes. Everything was tasty, well presented, fresh, and appropriately sized. We would be regulars if we lived anywhere close."

  • "We had an early evening reservation and were promptly seated in the nice front dining room. Service was prompt in coming and we enjoyed the wonderful spicy shrimp tapas while waiting for our dinners. The spicy snapper (outstanding) and seafood "soup" were excellent. Our server Joel delivered great service helping to make this a memorable experience. We'll certainly be back!"

  • "It certainly lived up to its reputation as being in the top five restaurants on Amelia Island, FL. The food was just outstanding and the service as well. We had the Shrimp Madagascar for an appetizer and the seafood paella for an entree. Both were very very tasty. Go there with a big appetite for the portions are generous."

Her comment: "Mom, we're not in Amelia Island, we're in Spain." We all felt that way--an extemely delicious meal in a true Mediterranean atmosphere!"

  • "We drive from Jacksonville somewhat frequently to eat at Espana. The Spanish cuisine here is different from what can be found elsewhere and always good. We particularly enjoy the paella, although you can never be disappointed with the fresh fish entree. The restaurant is locally owned, and you are always welcomed by the proprietor. It is a gem that those outside of Fernandina Beach have not fully discovered."
