  • "We are from out of town, and walked to Escorpion after attending a Saturday matinee at the Fox Theater. No wait for a table, and quick, friendly service. Our party of 4 ordered a variety of items off the menu (a la carte tacos, plates, tapas). The margaritas were good -- very strong. Salsa was fresh and tasty, queso dip was superb -- we liked the thick homemade chips. Everyone had only good reviews for all tacos and tamals. My personal favorite was the salmon taco."

  • "Waaaayy too loud. We could barely hear each other talk. Food was fair, drinks were decent, nothing to brag on. Complimentary valet & a very vibrant & eclectic crowd."

  • "Escorpion never disappoints. They always have great food and the service is always great. We have someone with an allergy in our party and the servers have always gone out of their way to make sure she has an allergy free meal. The service staff alone is worth a visit although the food is always great."

  • "If you are looking for some delicious tacos, potent drinks in a exotic environment, you must give Escorpion a try. The tacos are amazing. I especially love the arrachera taco (steak) & the fried shrimp taco. Unfortunately, I do not eat goat but my friends swear that their barbacoa taco is the best they have ever had. And I believe them, since they order in time & time again. I've also had the Molcajete - impressive and a great deal since you get shrimp, steak, rice, beans, a stuffed tomato AND grilled cactus. It's a great place for tequila-lovers offering a wide assortment. Plus, their mixed drinks are sizeable & strong. Try the Santa Ana Fruit Cart & Miel Picante. They are must-haves every time I go. The bartenders are the best!!!"

  • "We went here after theater. Decent Mexican food but the place did not feel clean and the floor was slippery with what seemed like grease."

  • "B4 going to the Fox for a show. Easy parking behind the restaurant, and quick menu and staff to serve tasty bites and libation before heading to the theatre."

  • "I had heard a lot about Escorpion. Went with a group of friends. It was not what I expected. Limited food selection but good. GREAT Tequila selection. I would definitely go back occasionally, but it is not one of my favorites"

  • "Drinks were great (at least the first round), food was so-so but the service left a little to be desired. We ordered a margarita that had basil and jalapeno in it which was delicious. We liked it so much we ordered another one but when it came there was no basil and no jalapeno. We thought they had brought us the wrong drinks but when we asked our server told us "yeah, they ran out of basil and jalapeno". It would have been nice if he had told us that when he brought the drinks. Or better yet, he should have come back to us and said "the bar is out of basil and jalapeno, do you want to order a different drink?" Not impressed."

  • "Altough we've been here many times, this was our first time to dine before a show at the nearby Fox theater. We had an abbreviated time to eat and were slightly anxious, but there was no need. The restaurant handled it with ease even though we didn't order from the special menu designed for faster service. Escorpion is always good, a lot of fun and very accommodating. A big plus is watching the back and forth on Peachtree Street."

  • "Went before seeing a show. The food was very good. Margaritas were awesome! Knowing we were on our way to the Fox for the show they offered a preshow menu that guaranteed us getting out with plenty of time. Wish we had the time to try something from the full menu. They forgot to bring the second margarita I ordered, but brought it very quickly when they realized it and did the right thing without me asking or making a big deal and comp'ed it."

  • "6 of us went before Book of Mormon. We were seated on time, the selections from the theater menu were prompt and tasty, and our server, Jonathan, was terrific. We couldn't have had a better experience. We'll definitely be back soon."

  • "We ordered from the theater menu -supposedly pre-made for fast service- we left for the theater without seeing our food- except for the salads- that they said were made to order- really- if you want to draw the pre-theater crowd your kitchen needs to get its act together- not fair to the wait staff- our waiter was nice - only charged us for the food we received but all together disappointing as we went hungry. we got there are 6 - ordered by 6?15 and left at 7:20 without our dinners...."

  • "We dined here before a show at the Fox. I made our reservation 1 hour and 15 min before the show. Our server even knew our plan as soon as we were greeted. However, we were very disappointed in how long everything took, and how slow the service was. We were alomost late for the slow, and walked in literally as it was starting. Although the location is great for dinner before the show, I cant say that we will be dining here again."

  • "The food choices, prices, and staff created a freat atmosphere for our leadership visiting from out of town. Quick stop over for a quality lunch."

  • "Very good Theater menu- we had dinner for 5 before the show at the Fox, and they have a smaller menu for theater-goers to help get people out the door in time for the show. Recommend the fish tacos and chicken tacos- tasty!"

  • "Nice little Mexican restaurant for dining before a performance at the Fox. The quacamole was so fresh - best I have ever had. The other food we ordered was okay, but not great. Didn't care for the chicken enchiladas. I would go again and order something else. Service was excellent!"

  • "Good food and drink. Interesting taco choices and the Texas margarita was very good."

  • "This is a new twist on Mex cuisine. The food was hot and delicious. The drinks were potent and the folks friendly. Service was fast and efficient, this is a good safe bet for entertaining and so centrally located until I wonder why there was no wait."

  • "It's a good thing the server gave us the heads-up to order from the limited Theater Menu. She told us that we would get our food 3-4 times faster because of "problems in the kitchen." Even ordering off the limited theater menu, it took 30 minutes for the starters (non-labor intensive queso, guacamole and ceviche) to arrive. Main courses arrived unevenly with the runners not knowing who ordered what, and the sides were incorrect. Dirty dishes were not cleared between appetizer and main courses. The noise of the place was so great that our party of 6 had difficult speaking to one-another across the table. The food was decent, but the other components made Escorpion an unenjoyable meal."

  • "We made dinner reservations for 6:00 before a 7:30 show. No one who arrived for a 6:00 reservation was seated before 6:20. This was clearly a case of poor planning and management. They were bringing tables from the patio inside long after customers with reservations had arrived. Meanwhile, they filled the bar to overflowing with people who arrived without reservations. They didn't have enough staff to accommodate everyone, and the barkeeper certainly couldn't keep up. It was close to 7:00 before we had drinks and appetizers, and since we could not get either our entrees or the bill by 7:15, we left money on the table and hurried out. Bottom line - don't choose this restaurant for pre-theater dining."

  • "Made a reservation for an hour and a half before our show at the Fox... we were not seated promptly, and when we finally were we waited almost 30 minutes for chips and salsa. The waitress still had not taken our drink order and was no where to be seen for a while after that. We finally got up and left, and no one asked or seemed to care why we were leaving."

  • "We stopped at Escorpion during the "Blizzard of 2014" and were pleasantly surprised to find it lively, energetic, and packed with people. The food was great. I recommend the margaritas as well. Delicious and refreshing."

  • "Made reservations and still waited an hour for a table. No accommodations were made for our wait either. We had to comtinuously keep asking the hostess for a status update.... They did not update us without our asking first."

  • "Sporing solid appetizers, great tacos, plenty of drinks and a great ambiance, Escorpion felt as if you were in a good bar in Mexico. Very ideal if you want are going out with friends late at nights. Although I ate during the afternoon, it is clear that the place gets exciting later in the night."

  • "Our group went to Escorpion after a trade show and loved it. The food is very good and certainly the best Mexican I've had in Atlanta so far. The drinks were amazing. The only issue was our service was a little slow, it seemed like it was his first day. Also, they informed us that they don't bring water to the table unless you specifically ask for it. We'll be back next time we are in town."

  • "I was in Atlanta for work and stayed in a hotel near Escorpian, so it was very convenient. I loved the first experience so much (amazing service, good hot food) that I went back the next night for dinner. This time, the service was SO slow, the food wasn't as hot and the restaurant looked a little messier. Not sure if the "good" staff was scheduled for Saturday and the "slower" was scheduled for Sunday, but none the less, the service was inconsistent. I absolutely would go back for dinner though- the food was very good (the frequently refilled chips and salsa are delicious)."

  • "From the start, the service was poor. We weren't greeted for almost 15 minutes which is when we placed our drink orders. Our drinks arrived 15 minutes later followed by our waters which we had to ask for twice. We ate so many chips waiting for the food we weren't hungry when the food arrived. The server also messed up the food order and a member of our party didn't receive an item he ordered. The food was good overall. I enjoyed the chips/salsa/cheese dip. The pastor taco seemed to only have pineapples and lacked the pork. All other tacos were good as was the pork tamale. The extensive tequila menu is reasonably priced and drinks were creative and tasty. I'm quite positive our experience would've been different if we had another server."

  • "We picked Escorpion because it was close to the Fox Theater. When we sat down, we told our waitress we were going to a show and explained that we would need to be swift. She explained that the kitchen had a 20 minute turn around. We ordered drinks and food at the same time. AN HOUR LATER we still had not gotten our food. Tables around us had come and gone. The waitress kept coming by saying that our food was coming out next, or it was in the fryer, or some excuse. Finally, she said the ticket had been lost. After that she avoided our table and our questioning. Simple tacos should not take an hour!!"

  • "I made it on time for my reservation and was seated promptly to a nice corner booth. I was then greeted within a minute by our server Zak. Our drinks from the bar were the best around ( very fresh). The fajitas were amazing! I recommend this place to any and everyone."

  • "We enjoyed our New Years Eve dinner immensely at Escorpion. The food was great (LOVE their Salsa), the margaritas are potent and their service was top notch!"

  • "The food was decent. I expected the place to be a little bit fancier since the same people who own this place own Fritti and Sotto Sotto. Our waitor was super awkward, but he was hella cute, so that made up for it. The place was empty, which was surprising since it was New Year's Eve. The service was alright, but it was kind of annoying being asked three times within the span of about five minutes if we were ready to order, and then have to wait almost 20 minutes after we finished eating to get our check. If you're looking for a great Mexican place in Atlanta, go to Nuevo Laredo."

  • "Ordered at the bar.. only took one of our orders and then had to find him to take the other which meant food did not come out at same time..."

  • "Having eaten for years at Sotto Sotto and Fritti, we expected good things from this 3d restaurant in this group but it seems clearly aimed at the plain old hackneyed Mexican food scene. Its location makes it easily accessible to several midtown hotels so I assume the goal is to pull in tourists and young bar scene folks. At any rate, if you're looking for something special in Spanish or Mexican food, this is not your destination."
