Giancarla Bodoni, Ecopazzo's chef and owner had been creating the magic that has been receiving rave reviews from local and nation wide publications since 1993. Her Italian menu is an assortment of contemporary and creative dishes as well as some traditional favorites, in her menu she uses only organic products and all her meats are chemical and hormone free, as chef and mother of three Giancarla believes in supporting industries that treat their land and animals in the most natural and humane ways possible.   • "We hesitated making a reservation because of all the bad reviews on line, but we enjoyed a lovely evening with excellent food and service. The high quality organic ingredients were treated with care and creativity, even splitting courses in the kitchen for us. All the staff from chef to Maitre'D (CIA trained) to the waiter and assistant (both from Italy) are passionate and knowledgable about food and wine and made us feel welcome and happy to be there. Pastas are homemade, vegetarians will be in heaven, but omnivores like us loved the octopus, shellfish and bison. True, the decor is a little dated and the prices a little high, but we really enjoyed our experience, something we cannot often say in South Beach especially during the season."

  • "The food was not good. we returned 6 of 8 main courses as they were inedible... too under cooked and too sweet/over salted. the service was pleasant but not attentive to the debacle that was occurring. I would not eat there again nor recommend the restaurant. if it hadn't been a party for my father's birthday i would not have paid for the meal it was so bad. The decor was dated and tired. i stopped to tell the chef who asked me to come back and try again. :("

  • "Had to wait approximately 20 minutes despite having a reservation. However, they were gracious and offered wine or prosecco while we waited (although we declined). The octopus was absolutely delicious. My osso buco was average and so were the lamb chops. This was surprising since we had always had wonderful meals in the past."

When I got the bill of $271 with no alcohol I thought there was clearly an error. The staff made no apologies whatsoever. Complete tourist trap. Avoid at all cost!"

From the Vegan, vegetarian taste menus to the regular menu with, fish, meats and pastas. We have been there a few times and we are always happy with the delicious upscale food, great service and ambience !I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a great organic, healthy meal that is just out of this world. And they make Vegan food just taste so special, anyone would be able to eat it and be so happy and satisfied."

  • "Went for valentines. It was exactly what I was hoping. My wife and I are apparently "foodies" and this was pretty darn good. Cozy intimate setting - just ask to be in the back and at a table by itself if it's a date. It's more intimate than the front or the random long bench table. The staff were all friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. Bread was cold, but different and delicious Had the asparagus flan - tasty and different - try it. my wife had some sweet savory ravioli with truffle oil. Super awesome. considered ordering more. surprisingly we were too full for desert so i cant comment. Bonus They gave us (and later the couple next to us) an extra appetizer for free just because we were splitting it and they thought it was small."

  • "We've been going here for many years on our annual visit to South Beach but will never go again. The quality of the food and poor service do not justify the high prices and small portions (literally a few bites)The main course were loaded with salt. We were never served our drinks and although were told they were bringing more bread (necessary as we were never offered dessert or coffee and finally just asked for the check which took 20 minutes and was incorrect. We were not the only diners that night who felt this way as you could hear the grumbling Of the other tables nearby. There are too many wonderful new additions to the restaurant scene to ever return."

The food was good and presented well but not good enough of it for the prices. It should be $$$$. Watching the stumble drunks outside the storefront window was a huge negative to the ambiance."

  • "Loved this place; the food and cuisine is very fresh and innovative. Ingredients are all organic, natural, pastured or grass fed. I had the braised bison and it was excellent. Highly recommend it. Husband had duck; very good also. Appetizers were chargrilled octopus and asparagus terrine. Both fabulous. Very professional, attentive service from excellent wait staff and you don't feel rushed at all. owner recommended a great wine that we loved too. Place is small so call for reservations ahead of time."

The waiter was lying to us (my wife knows a lot about cuisine), and the chef owner, sitting 10 feet from our table never came to or explain the situation or apologies. For 300$ it is a steal. Don't go there (I am even surprise that this awful place is on the opentable list)."

  • "After seated we were rushed to make our drink selections. We opted for a bottle of wine so we might review the menu. We were bombarded to order , no recommendations were made We were served a basket of overheated small pieces of bread. Spaghetti with fresh vegetables was a flavorless watery bowl of noodles with bits of flavorless chopped carrots .Never offered any black pepper or Parmesan to accompany it. The waiter poured the wine glasses rapidly and way over the standard pour so we might finish quickly. One other problem was the very bad disinfectant odor emanating from the bar. It smelled like car deodorant.This used to be a good place. Not now."

  • "Escopazzo came highly recommended by my wife & daughter who had visited Miami and eaten there on a couple of occasions, so when I was in town on business I made the trip to give it a try. I had the 5 course selection with wine pairings and it was all very good - salad w/ octopus, ravioli, another octopus dish and a pork chop w/ zucchini and chick pea pureee. My family had me primed for the desert, but found the tiramisu somewhat underwhelming. All in all a great meal and I'm glad I took the time to visit the restaurant - I would definitely visit again if I'm back in the area. I was eating by myself and it was easily a 2 hour dinner - a bit of sitting between courses."

  • "Being a vegan in Miami can be pretty painful when diding out for special occaisions. Most people have no clue what "vegan" means. ("So you just don't eat meat?" "Is that a nut allergy?" or my favorite "Butter IS vegan.") We found this restaurant via the Meatless Miami website and decided to try it for a 5th anniversary. We were so happy we did. The food was AMAZING. Upon arrival, the server recommended the 5 course tasting menu. We told him that we were vegan and his response was "Our chef would be happy to do a vegan tasting for you." Each stage of the tasting was amazing and this is now our go-to spot for a nice dinner out. An added plus- the service was top-notch, an unexpected event on South Beach."

  • "Third dinner at Escopazzo. Absolutely dilightful antipasti - asparagus flan. Perfect risotto and ravioli filled witch ricotta and pears. But the pana cotta was awful. Not because they don t know to do it well, (they served perfect ones before to other tables), but because it was warm with a greek yogourt aspect, as if it waited too long in the Kitchen or it was the last one and it was missed! A real shame for such a restaurant. Our 150.00 bottle of barollo was not that good. A year 2000 wine altered that should no longer remain on the wine list."

  • "We had a fabulous dinner here. When we first walked in at 7pm we were a little anxious as we were there only diners. Lucky us. The service was wonderful, the place quiet for conversation and the food magnificent. We had the chick pea salad and an eggplant dish as starters, a ravioli stuffed with pear as a small pasta dish, and a fish entrée and ganache for dessert. In all, a pleasantly different menu from most Italian fare. As we were staying on Ocean Drive near 14th, it was a quick walk over. Would definitely go back again. Highly recommend as a neighborhood gem."

  • "To say that this fabulous establishment provides it's guests with great food is a huge understatement! The fresh and delectable courses will satisfy the most discriminating palate. What is so astonishing, is the originality of the plates; from creation to presentation. Halibut Carpaccio; Asparagus and Fonduta Flan,... and, a Ganache Dessert that we will forever dream of! Great wine, and romantic in an unpretentious, and almost trattoria style. Service was perfect all the way from the Charming Waiters, to the attentive busboys.. Don't expect your typical Italian dishes that most of us come close to mastering at home..For a true dining experience, and a celebration of stunning flavors... this is the Top! Bravo Escopazzo!"

  • "This restaurant is on a main street and quite unpretentious. We were four and everyone tasted everything. The food was delicious. Wonderful flavors, subtle sauces and unusual combinations. The appetizers were very good and different: the chick peas salad and the phyllo dough salad basket were both unique and tasty. The chicken with skeet was some of the best chicken I've ever tasted. Raviolis with carmelized pear and ricotta were delicious. All the desserts were also great. The mango was sliced with a sauce - and to die for - and a taste that was very special. The panna cotta and cheese cake were also very good. The portions were plentiful but not overwhelming. Congratulations to Giancarla, the chef - she has a very special flare for food,"
