This party was my first visit to Ernest & Scott Taproom. I chose this location based on recommendations and positive online reviews. The folks at Ernest & Scott Taproom were extremely accommodating for a birthday party of unknown attendance. We ended up with a turnout of about 30 guests. They provided us with a private dining area, friendly service, and good food. The special appetizer was delicious and the salmon entree was equally tasty and well prepared. It was pan seared, nice crispy outside, tender flaky center and well seasoned. The fresh creamed spinach was also a delight as it was tender yet it retained a healthy crunch. I will definitely return for future dinners and parties.

We had a great time at Ernest and Scott Taproom. The motif and atmosphere were awesome, transferring an old bank in to a restaurant turned out to be very cool. The food was wonderful, everything tasted amazing and the portions were generous. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive while we sat for almost 2 hours.

We had 6 of us try this spot for the first time for dinner. Two of us had to send our meat entree courses back for not being cooked at the temperature we asked. One of us actually sent it back twice before not finishing the filet all together. Everyone's meal seemed to either be missing some seasoning and/or was a small portion for a dinner entree (ex. only two small lightly filled fish tacos for dinner was not enough for a couple of the guys). However, I must say our server was excellent with being apologetic and took the filet off the meal and a couple drinks as well. The chef himself also came out to apologize. We might try this out again maybe for lunch a couple months down the road. Hopefully after some kinks are worked out.

This new downtown Wilmington restaurant is a great place for a pre-show dinner or drinks if attending The Grand or World Cafe Live. Cenrally located on Market street, it is a short walk from either venue. The atmosphere and decor are fresh and modern, while still holding old charms. The lighting is very good - enough light that you can read your menu and see your meal, but low enough for mood. The service was outstanding, and the meal was incredible and well presented. Expect to pay $15-30 per plate, not counting drinks. Great selection of draft beers and a good wine list.

We we're looking forward to our experience here but were extremely disappointed. Our server seemed to be new and was not as attentive or knowledgeable as we would have expected. We ordered the warm hummus appetizer to share. It came with about four slices of bread...we were a party of three. We asked for a refill of bread and were told there was a $1 charge. Before we got our refill, our entrees arrived. The burger was enjoyable, the chicken 'pot pie' was unique but had more filler than chicken. The crab cake BLT had sundried tomato, a limp piece of lettuce and again, more filler than crab. The whole meal seemed to be rushed by our server but the restaurant was no where near crowded. Will probably think twice about going here again.

To our night out, we were seated at a table near the door. That wouldn't have been a big deal but there was a draft coming from a vent or something near the table. When we asked to be moved they said they didn't have any other tables for 2. So, I ate with my coat on. They were slow to bring us our drinks and to bring us another round of bread. Then when our bill was swiped, it was for the wrong table. Luckily it hadn't gone through yet so we had to have it redone. It seemed like our waiter was either new as many tables around us had problems or that this place just opened. Will not be going back.
