A word from Erie Grill
A three-month renovation has expanded the original restaurant layout to create a new open floor plan that seamlessly transitions the restaurant from day to night.

Following lunch, the restaurant transitions itself into a lounge-like dining and drinking atmosphere by revealing liquor selections behind the bar, showcasing a vast wine selection, and softening lighting for the evening hours.

The menu offers a variety of crave-able Contemporary American cuisine that encompasses both coursed meals and smaller plates to share at a range of price points. Executive Chef John Freezee and Sous Chef Doug Dake imaginatively utilize seasonal ingredients to present the finest in regional cuisine.

Have enjoyed dinner here several times, never disappointed! Waitstaff always on-point And friendly, food always delicious, FANTASTIC happy hour specials for drinks and appetizers.good job accommodating vegetarian diners in my party. one complaint the LED type lighting under the bar is distracting and annoying whether you're facing the bar or facing the window if you're there at night.they should just stick with the lighting that's on the bar glass.a great place to dine though - I would highly recommend it!

The Erie Grill is located at the back of the Delmonte Lodge property with a wonderful view of the Erie Canal. The menu is interesting without being pretentious and the specials, unlike at many restaurants, really are special. The wine list is extensive without being overwhelming and is well laid out so it's easy to zero in on what you are looking for (e.g., bold hearty reds, etc. ) While some of the hostesses tend to be a little less enthusiastic than one might like, the wait staff are gracious and knowledgeable about the food and drinks and very willing to provide requested changes. This is a restaurant where it is worth asking for a table with a view.I forgot to do that this last visit and we wound up with a view of the servers' station.

My family visits this restaurant several times a year from Minnesota while visiting family. We all look forward to dinners here including my grandchildren. Fabulous snd creative food. Have been receiving outstanding service from Rachel for 9 years. Christina is another very friendly and high quality waitress. And the breakfasts are also very special with wonderful service by staff that has also been there for years.

My first time here. I loved what I ate (duck meatballs and crab cakes) and my parents loved the burger and lamb. We had a great view of the canal (I tried not to associate the ducks floating by with my meatballs), and our server was very friendly. The service was slow, but others around us were served more quickly so I suspect there was a problem with our order specifically, but we we in no hurry. Nice atmosphere. Wish I had a place like this near me in LA!

The view! The decor! Pair that with an amazing inventive menu...incredible value at the bar for Happy Hour. We had a great experience n a quiet Sunday evening. We will be back. The friendly bartender had invented several of the great cocktails she was crafting and they were very tasty and strong. Not a huge draft beer selection but the bottle list and wine list were more than adequate. Menu had familiar standards taken to a new level (potato chips and dip, beet salad) and creative stuff that was delicious to discover (carrot gnocchi under grilled pompano special). Adding this place to our list of favorites.

The best part about the Erie Grill was the lovely view of the canal. Area is very active with people biking, walking and jogging, boats along the canal and train passing by on the bridge. The restaurant itself was tastefully decorated, staff very friendly and the wings and sweet potato fries the best we have ever had. The only drawback was it took awhile to get our food but we enjoyed the spectacular view while waiting. Would definitely recommend.

Steak was ordered medium rare came to us almost well. Waitress never asked if it was cooked properly and we only ate half. She also recommended the homemade chips and said she would place that for us to try and never brought them to us. I was also charged $1.00 for a taste of a wine before I ordered a glass. Never in my life have I ever experienced such behavior and I have dined at 5 star restaurants and no one has ever charged me to taste before ordered wine.

We dined at the Erie Grill with friends on a weekday evening. The restaurant was very lively, and somewhat loud. It quieted down after about 9 PM. We enjoyed our meals and our wine selections very much. We lucked onto a wine special event, and had the good fortune of having the sommelier come to our table with his excellent variety of interesting, unusual wines, and his thorough knowledge of the same. The Peach Melba dessert was innovative and delicious, and capped off a lovely, memorable night. We will be back!

We had a light lunch of broccoli soup which was extremely good with a depth of flavor and the crab cake which was mainly made of crab. The accompaniments were very well done. Things were done very well with quality ingredients and care of presentation. We also were able to order 1/2 bottle of wine which is too rare in the US.

Our server was knowledgeable, attentive & friendly. She pointed out the happy hour specials, and made sure we could order a second drink with our dinner before happy hour ended. The food was fantastic! We had 3 apps, a salad & one entree - the veggie flatbread was amazing, as were the duck meatballs. We all tried the octopus salad for the first time, and were pleasantly surprised. We had ample food, with a moderate price tag. We will all return, especially for the happy hour specials!

It was not the most exciting evening out....the receptionist was excellent..the waitress very good..but the meal was not exceptional..I ordered a special..veal chop..."pink".. It came very medium and was surprisingly thin..for $32.00.. Disappointing..but had good flavor..risotto was very good...the tables are bare...no tablecloths ...the wait staff doesn't keep them clean during the meal..I had to ask for dishes to be removed and for a spill of water to be cleaned up.....won't put It on my list of "have to return"

My wife and I were visiting Pittsford and went to the Erie Grill to celebrate our anniversary. The Happy Hour specials were great, the appetizers were delicious. The Pork Shank was a winner too...fall off the bone fantastic. The vegetables were very salty so if that is an issue, there is a heads up. Also, we ordered the bison sliders which seemed unique and they were very well done so if I go back I would order them medium. (I was not asked about a temperature when I ordered.) If we are in the area again we will definitely visit.

Our server was so awesome! Friendly but not annoying. The food was so great & even when I showed a hesitation towards the ponzu sauce the waitress told me exactly what it was & asked if I would like without or on the side. I ended up going with it because she told me exactly what it entailed. It was overall a wonderful experience for my boyfriend and I! Thank you :)

We were in Rochester for our son's graduation and decided to try this restaurant for our anniversary. I am so disappointed that I didn't know this place existed sooner! It was hands down the best restaurant we've been to in Rochester, and Rochester has a lot of good restaurants. My second time at the Grill. Great service and Great food as expected. Again, A bit noisy when seated in tables by the bar area. Dinning tables chairs could be better, needed an extra pillow to be at table level. Drinks on menu are great but special orders like Mojito etc not that great.

Great food, excellent service by Rachel B. Clean and neat, relaxed atmosphere. If dinning, however, stick to entrance tables area and avoid tables across from the bar, it can get a bit noisy. Also, watch out on your way out to the parking area, little lighting at night time and cars going too fast around the building, speed limit is 5mph but drivers go faster unaware of Restaurant's entrance in corner.

This was our first time at Erie Grill- we went based upon a recommendation of a friend. The food was outstanding, the service was flawless, our only wish is that the noise level was quieter. Our party included our aging parents who really have a very difficult time with noisy surroundings Our table was located right next to the bar area and at one point, we moved our seats in an attempt to hear each other. Not withstanding, our meal was delicious, exceeding expectations, and our server was extremely attentive. We will return.

We frequnt the Erie Grill for holiday meals because it is never loud, overcrowded, and when we make reservations, our table is ready when promised! The dining area is small and very tastefully decorated. The portions are smaller than most restaurants (my latest filet was accompanied by just 5 tiny fingerling potatoes) but I prefer that over massive amounts of food. Haven't had a bad meal yet!

I really liked Erie Grill. The first time I looked at the website it wasn't to attractive and even considering the fact that is a Restaurant amended to a Hotel it's natural to question... Now that I went, I strongly recommend! Comparing to some other upscale restaurants in the Rochester area this was the one which gave us an overall satisfaction from the smallest detail in the service to the yummy taste of the food. Best part is that for being an upscale restaurant has a very fare price. Great place to celebrate special occasions.

We really enjoyed our first experience dining at the Erie Grill. The food was wonderful, from the warm bread to the creative cioppino, lamb pizza and Caesar salad. We were seated in the bar area, which was noisy, and next time would ask to be seated in the dining room. We celebrated a birthday, but were too full for the dessert that was offered. Our waitress surprised us by removing a glass of wine from our bill. All in all, it was a nice experience and we would return.

First time here for dinner. Small, elegant dining area. Husband's martini was great. Waitress suggested a dry red wine I had never had. It too was delicious. Hot bread and soft butter on table. Husband had Strip Steak cooked to perfection served with roasted tomatoes and small potatoes. He said it was one of the best steaks he had ever had. I opted for seared scallops over a crispy rice cake with kale on top in a mildly spicy ponzu sauce. Delicious and beautifully presented. Caesar salad was fresh with homemade croutons. For dessert we had homemade hot apple pie with locally made Pittsford Dairy ice cream. A great ending to a great meal. Service was outstanding. During the day, you can look out and see the Erie Canal. Highly recommend.
