Diner Reviews
  • "Food was above average. Good atmosphere, not too noisy. Make sure they check off your reservation when you arrive. They didn't even though I made a point of telling the hostess to do so and Open Table sent me a note saying I had missed our reservation."

  • "The weekday 3 course lunch consists of salad, appetiser and main course. Generous portions at bargain price....$7.99 - $10.99."

  • "Mediocre at best. food was served tepid. the kind of place where the menu is suspiciously sticky."

  • "Consistently excellent food. Great service - attentive and friendly staff. We have been there many times and have never been disappointed. In our opinion, this is one of the best Thai restaurants in town."

  • "service was perfect. food was perfect. byob. enough said."

  • "Great food, service and ambiance. The restaurant was quiet empty when we arrived but filled up quickly. However, that did not slow down the great service and excellent food from being on our table in short order. A great restaurant and will definitely be visiting again."

  • "Such an accommodating staff! Booked a table for 20 and they allowed us to increase to 25 without any problem. BYO and no corking fee. And the food is just soo good and also reasonably priced!"

  • "The only problem we had was that they did not have my OpenTable reservation! They fit us in, but barely. I don't know what happened. We made the reservation 4 hours prior to arrival. Other than that, the food was excellent and service was prompt. We had the calamari to start. A bit unusually prepared, but certainly interesting. The Tom Yum soup was one of the best I have had. For a meal, had the Green Curry. Very good. Overall, I enjoyed the restaurant."

  • "We had a group of 11 go here for dinner before heading out for my 30th birthday bash...I couldn't have asked for a better meal! The food was delicious and fairly priced and the service was amazing. THANK YOU for starting my bday celebration off right!"

  • "Just overall a very solid place. Food was good, service was good, ambience was quiet and I would almost say romantic if it weren't for the cheaper chairs and table cloths. Also, they played Asian string versions of current pop songs, which I loved."

  • "Had a great early dinner. Large menu with plenty of vegetarian options and friendly staff."

  • "One of my favorite Thai restaurants and definitely a hidden gem in Chinatown. Delicious Basil Duck dish!"

  • "Both the service and food were very good. We had a group of 7 for lunch and they were able to accomodate us very nicely. I never felt rushed or hurried."

  • "awesome service for a birthday party of 25! and byob!"

  • "Lunch special is a really good deal and highly recommend. Soup (i forget the name - chicken with tomatoes) wasn't worth eating but the other apps on the menu were delicious like the shrimp and dumplings. The duck entree was good good also except they took a beautiful crispy breast and poured sauce overtop therefore rendering the skin inedible. Overall very nice lunch for a good price and good authentic food."

  • "Great food, service, and attention to detail. I was craving Thai food and this place satisfied."

  • "Probably the worst Thai food i've ever had. I had the wonton soup, golden springs rolls and crabmeat fried rice. Everything was extremely bland. I've never had Thai food before that did not have any taste. It was like eating hospital inpatient food. And what Thai respectable Thai restaurant does not serve alcohol. This is something they should indicate on their website so you know ahead of time."

  • "I pretty much concur on all the other 4-star ratings."

  • "Food was delicious, but server did not say that their medium is like most places' hot, so beware!"
    Dined on 6/23/2012
  • "The dumplings had an odd consistency and the noodles were over cooked."
    Dined on 6/9/2012
  • "We ordered three dishes: fresh duck rolls, massaman curry, and pad thai. The fresh duck rolls are delicious (definitely recommended). The massaman curry was tasty at first, but the sheer volume of sauce surrounding the somewhat dry chicken became overwhelming by the end of the dinner. The pad thai was too mushy for my liking. While I would not order the pad thai again, I still would recommend this restaurant because its food was so flavorful and still overall very enjoyable."

  • "Great food, so-so ambiance. But if you are there you are in for a treat. Must try Pad Thai."

  • "The food was very fresh, appetizing, and absolutely delicious....."

  • "The food wasn't very good. I've been to Erawan in Center City and the food was much better. It was very disappointing."
    Dined on 4/28/2012
  • "Don't get anything with fish or seafood unless you like it cooked to well done. All the sauces and vegetables were delicious, but all of the shrimp and fish were overcooked."
    Dined on 4/6/2012
  • "Food is good and reasonably priced. Not the best Thai that I ever had but still pretty good."

  • "We enjoyed our dinner at this pretty, cozy restaurant. The service was friendly and accommodating. Our chicken skewer appetizer was both tender and tasty. The pineapple chicken was flavorful and delicious. The chicken with asparagus was also yummy. The asparagus was very fresh and the chicken was tender. The perfect end to a perfect meal was the refreshing and creamy coconut ice cream. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable especially with it being a byo."

  • "Food was fantastic, service was meh... felt I should have tipped myself. Its a BYO so I brought a bottle of wine, I wasn't expecting miracles, but I certainly didn't expect to have to open it myself. They were efficient enough refilling water and asking if we needed anything else for our meal, but really with the bill for two delightful and nice sized entrees coming to $25..... can I really complain?"

  • "To sum it up - great food, painfully slow service. Two of is waited for 15 minutes for someone to take the order and then another 20 minutes to are the appetizers. And of course they came with our main course dishes. The food was all above average."

  • "I hadn't dined at this location since it was Siam Cuisine and was glad to see Erawan Chinatown joined the dining program. I had the lunch special with the crispy duck entree, and I asked my server whether she recommended the basil or red curry. She recommended red curry, which was delicious. The only thing I miss is that the owver of Siam Cuisine used to give me free refills on my Thai Iced Tea."

  • "We had a person in our group with special dietary needs and the waitstaff was extremely accommodating. One dish, brought to the table, was quickly removed when the waiter realized it contained soy sauce. Unfortunately, the fish in the replacement dish was overcooked, but everything else, including the Pad Thai, Papaya salad, duck rolls and dumplings were superb. This restaurant also delivers. We are quite happy to have found it."

  • "The pineapple fried rice with pork was the best I've ever had--the perfect combination of sweet and savory! The spring rolls made with rice paper were also quite good. Although the cold water tasted slightly spicy, the complimentary hot water refills for our tea were lovely and our water was kept filled. Overall, an excellent place for eating marvelous food and talking with friends--I never had to raise my voice in order to be heard."

  • "food was tasty. we dined here on valentine's day and there were little heart shaped straws, flowers at the table and candle-lighting - dessert was on the house for couples. great ambiance. had to wait for service but it could be because the restuarant seemed fully booked for valentine's day."
