Equus @ The Castle Hotel and SpaWe will be there!Wonderful food, great lunch with friends. BUT .... after making a reservation for lunch, received 2 emails reminding us - ok - and then the day before received a phone message that we needed to call to reconfirm the reservation - this was a Tuesday afternoon lunch reservation! not ok - And when you call, of course, have to go through a series of prompts. And when we were at lunch, only a fraction of the tables were used. Hope they can change this procedure or you can be assured that I'll find another restaurant that believes me when I make a reservation.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI took my mother and grandmotherI took my mother and grandmother here for Mother's Day for dinner and they fell in love. It was a great way to make that special person in your life feel like royalty. What is better than fine dining in a castle? The food was amazing, perfect blend of flavors and the portions sizes were perfect. We received remarkable service while there and every person was very friendly. The ambience is wonderful with beautiful garden views and views of the hudson river. It was truly a night to remember. .5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGet Thee to the Castle!Beautiful setting...high in the clouds...with lovely, tasteful furnishings fit for a royal couple ---of any age. Food was delicious, fresh and presented with panache. Wait staff was cordial, friendly and very helpful with food and wine choices. Can't wait to bring our daughter, who lives in Seattle, this summer to see what all the bragging was about. Kudos!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGood but I'm not rushing backWe had the prix fixe brunch. The gazpacho with shrimp ceviche was very good, the ricotta pancakes were not as tasty or moist as they could have been...a disappointment... and the potatoes on the side were over done, dry and not warm enough. Dessert was lavender ice cream in a merengue shell...very good. Other than the dessert taking much too long to come out, the service was excellent and the environment beautiful. The bill with tax and tip came to $150. For brunch it should be top shelf all the way, don't you think?5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMPre-Anniversary dinnerThis was there first weekend back open since their remodel of the castle so the servers seamed a little rusty or new maybe
But they did a good job. The food was great and I loved the goat cheese ice cream desert. My only
complaint about the evening is they sat us right next to a table with a family of about four kids normally
I'm ok with kids in a restaurant but this isn't a restaurant your supposed to bring kids to.
At one point one of the kids came over and was our wine out of the ice bucket to inspect and play with
it. However all things considered we had a great night and some great food!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place continues to getThis place continues to get better and better.Food, presentation, service, ambiance, you name it.12/30/2012 12:00:00 AM
