Equinox - DCGreat food, nice restaurant! My wife and 3 children went to Equinox for Mother's Day Brunch. The service was good and food was great. There was a set menu but had plenty of choices for picky eaters. The appetizers were fabulous... especially the soups and he scallop salad. The main entrees were delicious and prepared exactly to our order request. There was a small trio jazz band that kept the atmosphere vibrant but not overwhelming. Overall this was a great brunch.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMCould not be more pleased.ItCould not be more pleased. It was a great way to cap a great weekend staycation in DC.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDelish!I took my parents here for dinner while they were in town for Mother's Day weekend. It was a bit of a splurge, but the food was amazing and well worth it! I haven't had a scallop cooked that well in ages.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectionTodd Gray and his team work hard to give you a great meal with the freshest market selections available. We had scrumptious SOF shell crab straight from maryland's eastern shore. And he whipped up a Kobe beef salad with no oils for one guest on a strict diet. Just the best !5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMfirst time visit was hitloved the beautifullly prepared duck breast, wines were great. everybody enjoyed their dinner. not cheap, but we got our money's worth. attentive service and the management was paying attention.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall and pleasantGood food. Was able to have and hear a pleasant conversation while restaurant was full. Service was fast and friendly.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEquinox is reliably a high-satisfacEquinox is reliably a high-satisfaction experience -- a power restaurant that feels like a great neighborhood restaurant. My companion tried the shad roe Caesar salad; shad roe must be an acquired taste, because neither of us liked it at all, and it certainly didn't seem to belong on a Caesar salad. That said, my pulled chicken salad (one of their long-time staples) was possibly the best I've ever had. This has become one of my go-to places whenever I'm in DC.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was wonderful! ArugulaFood was wonderful! Arugula and grapefruit salad was delicious. Seafood pasta exceptional!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh food at it's best.We have eaten at Equinox since Todd Gray opened the place after leaving Roberto Dona. In the over ten years he has been on Connecticut Ave. my wife and I have eaten there no less than 30 times. Most recently we had the Passover meal after my wife had arrived from an overseas trip. It was as good as food could get. We had a absolutely delicious fresh beet salad (and I usually hate beets), a delicious brisket cooked to perfection, and a marvelous flour-less chocolate cake. If my parents were still alive even they would have liked it. In all the years we have never had a bad experience at Equinox. The staff are always welcoming, cordial, and attentive. The food has set the standard for fresh seasonal cuisine and the special dinners tops.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster Brunch was very goodEaster Brunch was very good - excellent food, good choices, good service, fair price.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent andThe food was excellent and the ambiance was great. The experience was spoiled, however, by having to wait 40 minutes for our table, even though we had a reservation. Yes, it was Easter Sunday and a lot of people wanted to make brunch an event, but the restaurant should have done a better job of predicting table turnover. We had to give a credit card to hold the reservation and we rushed to get there to make sure we showed up on time. So we expected the restaurant to hold up their end of the bargain and have a table for us within a reasonable period of time, if not exactly at the exact minute. Forty minutes is not a reasonable period of time. We will probably go back to the restaurant but not until the bad vibe wears off.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEquinox has been one of myEquinox has been one of my favorite resturants in DC. This week we
went to celebrate Passover. My wife was flying from
out of the country and no one wanted to cook. On the
way home from the airport we took advantage of the
special holiday meal. It was so much better than anything we
would have made and there was no clean up. Another memorable
meal. Well just keep coming back as long as the quality is maintained
and the service is cordial and efficient.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent lunch.Came to Equinox for a celebratory luncheon for a family member that had just received a White House award. Food was excellent, service outstanding. Ambiance is more suited to a power lunch than a noisy celebration. Good for people-spotting since many of those who often deal with the White House eat lunch here.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was very quite as we arrivedIt was very quite as we arrived early before the lunch crowd.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding dining experienceVery pleased. The customer service was excellent and the food was outstanding. The Winter Root Vegetable Salad was crisp and yummy! The Saffron Pappardelle with Smoked Brisket Bolognese was simply delicious. The portions were the perfect size. Chef Todd Gray's restaurant is a must visit.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite restaurant inMy favorite restaurant in DC -- never disappoints, always excellent service.
