Epoch at The Exeter InnGood food, ok serviceWe had a very good brunch. The poached eggs were done to perfection. The service was very slow. There was a private party in the next room. However, the main dining room was very quiet so I was surprised that the food took so long to arrive. They were also very slow to bring the check. I can say that they have definitely stepped up their game. Our dinner was leaps and bounds above what we have had before. Starters of mussels, blue point oysters, and a wild berry salad were all great. To me, the sign of good mussels is do I want more bread to sop up the broth? I had to refrain from asking for more. Our main courses, lamb medallions, salmon, and chicken were all done perfectly. My pescatarian wife is very specific about her salmon being almost sashimi and they nailed it. From the time we entered the restaurant/bar area until we left, the entire staff made us feel very special. My friend said she had been there for drinks and had brought groups there for dinner, but it was her first time for dinner and she loved it. It was by far a rare find and we love the fact that they do Farm to Table and boy do they do a great job.
