Great Contry Fried SteakThe Contry Fried Steak for brunch was execptional. The wait staff is outstanding and most accomidating.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time hereThis was our first time here and the hardest part was trying to decide what to order as everything looked so good! Our server did an excellent job at describing the different items we were interested in and gave great suggestions. By far the best was the shaved prime rib sandwich on an onion roll. The panchetta macaroni & cheese was a side dish to die for, it was cheesy and delicous and a small fork fight erupted over the last bite. It was worth it!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMso deliciouson Fridays they serve a pastrami sandwich that makes my mouth water just to think about...5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMDark and stormy night....A perfect night for chili the other day, and Epic Smokehouse did not disappoint. Their chili totally hits on all notes -- a little smoky, nice amount of meat and good balance of beans. Then I got prime rib -- all out at 20oz, and it was great. A nice smoked quality penetrated throughout the rich cut, and has a nice accompaniment of mashed potatoes. But the best thing is the funnel cake. Don't miss it. It's the thing of youth that Epic has helped surpass even the most romantic childhood memories. Served piled high on a plate with mixed berries and a dollop of house-made whipped cream, I think it's a must have -- even if you don't want dessert.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst VisitParty of Four and we were all pleased with our dishes, the atmosphere and the service. One vegetarian accommodated with a wonderful portobello entree on the menu. Delicious. Desserts were to die for but a bit large. Definitely better for sharing. Try the Bourbon Bread Pudding.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHad 6:30 reservation - seatedHad 6:30 reservation - seated right away and were immediately served water and ordered a beverage. Spouse does not drink alcohol and appreciates quick service of a meal. Salads were generous and tasty. Spouse ordered smoked brisket and reported it to be very good. I ordered rib eye rare which it was. Quality of meat could have been better but was acceptable. Side of sprouts with bacon was a disappointment. Over all service is very attentive - some of the best in the area.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot for lunchReturn trip lunch for 5. Ribs were excellent. Cho’gall sandwich, which lets you sample both beef and pork from the smoker, is a favorite. Get the Bacon Sprouts instead of the fries. Tangy BBQ sauce complements all the meats. Look for drink specials - specialty beers by the bottle are pricey.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved this place. I had companyLoved this place. I had company in town and we were looking to go somewhere with a good scene, but not in DC. LOVED the food! Also the beverages were delicious. Staff was firendly and nice. I loved the decor too. I will be bringing more friends to Epic!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe chose Epic because it wasWe chose Epic because it was close to our hotel (Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City) and because the menu sounded interesting. We hadn't read any previous reviews nor heard any word of mouth about them. We had a 7pm reservation, began running late and called to change our time to 8pm. The man who answered was very accommodating and told us that would be no problem. We then arrived at 7:30pm and were still seated immediately. The server was very energetic and friendly. Our party (4 of us) decided to each try something different and were all very happy with each choice. Everything from the Bacon App to the Beef Brisket to the Chocolate Cake with bacon dessert was fantastic. I would recommend Epic for anyone who wants a great meal at a great price.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been a BBQ conneuisseurI've been a BBQ conneuisseur for a while now, so perhaps my review should be considered in that light. The portions were well-sized, and the meat was cooked perfectly. However, both the ribs and brisket were under seasoned and needed lots of BBQ sauce to add flavor. That was disappointing.
The ambiance was ok, th two-person table have you seated a long ways from your dinner companion which makes all of the conversation quite loud. The servers were a bit intrusive, but not too bad. The in-house lemonade was delicious!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good pick, thanks Open Table! Both the service, dinner and dessert excellent, telling all of our friends about it!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMVery enjoyable dinner here.Very enjoyable dinner here. Had the fantastic scallops and then the tender applewood smoked ribs. Epic Smokehouse seamlessly blends upscale dining with BBQ and the results are fantastic. Had the chocolate bacon cake for dessert which was decadent and delicious.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Modern Smokehouse Experience! We had a party of 6 and were treated to a wonderful experience. The presentation of the food was wonderful. We all had different things from the menu and there was food envy as each of us looked at each other's plates.
The ribs were plentiful and tasty. My prime rib was...well, what bad things can one say about prime rib. It was yummy.
This is a place that I will definitely frequent again.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat new restaurant withGreat new restaurant with sophisticated yet very comfortable ambiance, friendly excellent yet not Intursive service and a delicious menu of BBQ ffavorites as well as new takes with unexpected twists. beer belly chicken was moist and delicious, incapable of being left unfinished on the plate. he chef's moms recipe for bread pudding was like nothing our table had ever had before, not a messy plate of custard drowned gloppy bread bt distinct chunks of bread infused with flavor, still crisp and delicious.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMenu was a sort of a fusionMenu was a sort of a fusion between fine steakhouse and BBQ joint. Ambiance much more nicer than a regular BBQ though. Very nice and comfortable. Food was excellent especially the ribs. Mac and cheese with pancetta was to die for. Chocolate cupcake with candied bacon, just so-so. Overall, definitely a place we will go back to.2/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
