  • "We enjoy sitting at the bar area in front of the Cjef and cook station. Chef Eric is Great and Friendly. He went aboce an d beyond our expectations. My husband and I shared a few appetizers including the bone marrow carpaccio, calamari and pork belly, asparagus soup, salad and the bone in Rib eye. Probably the best tasting Steak I have ever had."

  • "Went here for brunch last Saturday with a friend. We shared the French Toast and the Crab Club Sandwich. The sandwich was made with fresh ingredients and a decent amount of crab. We enjoyed it a lot and would order it again. The French Toast was delicious, but too soft - making worry if they cooked it thoroughly. Might order it again. Was disappointed by the brunch choices - fairly sparse and no crab cake Benedict or waffles. Service was just okay."

  • "Great experience except Maitre 'D I was there with my mother on her 80th birthday and was attending to her when we were seated, we were given a perfect table. I was not fast enough to tip the gentleman that seated us and felt as though he was abit annoyed with me. I made me uncomfortable."

  • "Just walking in this place makes you feel like you know you came to the right place! Classy but VERY comfortable. Not stuffy at all. We went for my husbands 69th birthday. It lived up to all our expectations. Our dinner was "The Epic Meal for Two". It is a 32oz Thomahawk Rib Steak & One and a Half lb. Maine Lobster. Eat a light lunch! Our side dish was the Spaetzle Gratin. Fantastic !!! It's like a Mac n Cheese only much, much better. EVERYONE of our servers were helpful and friendly. Pricey but a must for any special occasion."

  • "While every aspect of this visit was excellent (perfect table, great view at sunset, very interesting dishes, etc.), it was the service that stood out, from recommendations about wine and food selections to explanations about herbs, salt, etc. that we were interested in..."

  • "Second time at Epic not as good as I remembered. Steaks were ok. But very inconsistently cooked . Two of five guests had to return theirs and weren't much happier the second time around. Scenery is fabulous but you can get that for free. Much better steakhouse options in SF for the $$"

  • "So I Surprised My Beau With Dinner Here On Valentines Day And Boy Let Me Tell You They Blew Our Minds... I Was Taken By Surprise By The Charm And Ambience In This Place. The Food Was Awesome, The Wine Pairing Was Impeccable And Our Server Was Outstanding. If You Are Ever On The Embarcadero Please Stop By This Restaurant. You Will Not Be Disappointed."

  • "Super high prices are one thing when justified by gustatory brilliance. These were not. Both NY steaks were full of gristle (would have sent them back but we were ravenous), fish (sturgeon and Branzino) were overcooked, sides (carrots, asparagus, potatoes) flaccid and tasteless. My second poor meal here, at over $300 for 4 without dessert. Really disappointed. Won't be going back...."

  • "My husband and I had dinner here after getting married in city hall. It was a fantastic choice. All of the food was incredible, the drinks were great and the service was excellent. They really made the night a good experience for us. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion or business meeting"

  • "Gracias staff, with a lovely setting near Bay Bridge. It has stunning views, excellent food, and nice variety. Good pour to the decent selection of wines. We had the Filet, cooked to perfection, cut like butter. They cut their meats in house and do a nice job. Very pleased."

  • "This was my third visit to Epic Roasthouse. The meal was not memerable. My steak was over cooked and not allowed to rest. It was also not seasoned. It was quickly replaced however the second while cooked more to my liking, rare, was also not seasoned and dry. Not a drop of juice. I will probably not return."

  • "Not from SF, but chose the city to celebrate our daughter's Sweet Sixteen. We researched a lot before picking this one. We got a great table and were excited. It took over 15 minutes for someone to come to our table and we actually had to flag them down. 25 minutes just to have some bread. We never knew exactly who our waiter was-- no introductions - nothing. Our assigned waiter never forgave us and pouted the entire night. So much for the special birthday-- we did get a nice dessert, but barely an acknowledgement. Although the food was very good, we left feeling so disappointed. When you go the extra mile to request a special table, call ahead, etc., you expect to be treated with class. You fell waaaay short, Epic Roasthouse. :("

  • "It took 50 minutes for us to receive our appetizer of sashimi and grilled shrimp. I think they forgot it and we questioned waiter he had nothing to offer not even an apology. After Dinner we moved to the Bar in front of the grill station, that was awesome"

  • "Excellent food, service, and ambience, what more could you ask for? One of the best steakhouses in SF as it is, but the location and respective scenic vistas might push it over the top. We had a windowside table and watching the Bay Bridge light show was simply magical. Will definitely return!"

  • "When you spend $45 USD on a just a steak and nothing but a steak! You expect the steak to be outstanding, great, mouth watering unforgettable. My New York Steak, was plain simple nothing special and I was seriously disappointed. We had baby carrots and Julia's potatoes best part of my meal....My other half said that his lamb was enjoyable, I shared by steak with him as well as I didn't think it was worth the calories.......His option was that it tasted like it was purchased from the local grocery store.... may I suggest that you take the bone off when requested as I did. But wast told NO! As it is extremely unfeminine to cut meat off the bone and difficult to prepare the meat to a complete medium rare as requested!"

  • "While I expected the Prime cuts of beef to be wonderful I was pleasantly surprised with the OUTSTANDING Stellar and personal, attentive service! I had a special event planned, a Birthday/Engagement, and Epic did their part and then some to make it every bit as special as one could have hoped for."

  • "Absolutely fabulous brunch on Sunday - great service by Ashlin. Best Ramos Fizz I have ever had (and I had to have two!!)! My daughter was recovering from tooth extraction and wanted a pizza for breakfast - not on the menu until the afternoon, but the kitchen accommodated her!! The food was wonderful - I had the Wagyu Burger which was cooked perfectly. My Father-in-Law had the crab cakes Benedict (he was finished while I was still cutting my burger!). I can't say enough - perfect brunch and service!"

  • "Epic's perfect location always delivers one of the best views in San Francisco -- this time the food and the service matched it. Hadn't been here in a while -- mostly because last time the food was disappointing -- but gave it another chance and glad I did. The Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked, and the mashed potatoes were a crowd pleaser. One of my friends got the Branzino and he said it was one of the best he's every had, period. The desert -- a hazelnut and chocolate lava cake -- didn't disappoint either. Epic isn't cheap, but this time, it delivered."

  • "After having a very mediocre meal we tried to speak with Henry the GM - basically he blew us off after providing very specific corrective and positive feedback. Given the dollars involved we would have expected better service, access to the signature dish without excuses (only cooked two prime ribs on a Friday, really?), asparagus to be tender without stringy/chewy ends and signature potatoes that have more cheese than water - the sauces were fantastic and while the meat was not terrific is was good."

  • "I hosted a business dinner here for two out of town colleagues, so the lovely Bay Bridge view was a big plus. The service was perfect and the waiter graciously accommodated my request for a vegetarian entree as there was none on the menu. Wow, the vegetables are fantastic here - very creative and perfectly prepared! My colleagues loved their oysters and steaks. Try the chocolate semi freddo - a lovely ending to a memorable meal. This was my first time dining here and I will definitely be back."

  • "Food was delicious. My husband and I ordered the halibut and short rib entrées with a side of their version of 'mac and cheese'. Best dining experience we've had in a long time. Waiter was very helpful in explaining the menu and what to expect. And gave us a small free desert before we left. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Thumbs up. :)"

  • "This was my first time at Epic Roasthouse. I was dining on a Wed at 6:30pm. Everything was going well until our main course never came. We ordered quickly. Our wine and salads came promptly. You expect a bit of time between first and main course. We both ordered steaks and one side of mashed potatoes. The restaurant was busy but not every table was filled. It took almost 2 hours from order time to the time our steaks were delivered. After waiting almost an hour, our waiter apologized, said our food would come soon and gave us a free cup of soup. Another 30 min. No food. Mini crabcakes come to the table and again a promise of food in 5 min. 30 min later our food arrives. It is now 9pm. The steaks were wonderful when they arrived."

  • "It was a great lunch on a beautiful day. A couple gripes: too much bleu cheese on the burger (an added side), burger a tad too salty, shrimp were strangely very tough. Otherwise, fabulous food and very lovely table service."

  • "I met a new business contact for lunch at Epic Roasthouse and had both a great meal and a great meeting. The environment was very conducive to having one-on-one meeting and the food was superb. The view of the Bay Bridge is stunning from both the dining room and the bar and I would highly recommend this place for lunch, dinner, or drinks."

  • "First and foremost, the staff from the maitre d to the waiters were 5 star quality. When you're a steakhouse you should be able to do steaks. We were not let down. New York strip, prime rib, rib eye, porterhouse et Al were all on the menu. Side dishes were excellent....but you must get the stetzel, I am sure I am saying and spelling it wrong. Window seat right under the bridge, great drinks, did not dissapoint...dinner four 4 with side dishes came out to just over 200 an db I w Po I'll have paid more"

  • "We had an interesting evening at Epic Roasthouse. My husband and I were entertaining very important business prospects. Serivce was quite slow but tolerable. Our server knocked over my wine glass, it broke and spilled wine and chattered glass all over me. No attempt was made by the wait staff or the restaurant to give me a dry napkin or offer to pay the dry cleaning bill on my new dress that had wine spilled all over it. They didn't even replenish my wine until I asked them for a new glass. For such an outrageously overpriced restaurant, I was surprised. For the same price, we could have eaten at Gary Danko and had a lovely dinner. Will not be back."

  • "When I walked in I smelled the hickory/wood burning. In my head I thought, yum....it's a roasthouse! Then I read the menu, 1 (yes one!) meat option and it is a skirt steak. While all of the food and service was GOOD, I left feeling underwhelmed and confused by the concept."
