beautiful view of the Bay Bridge, outstanding service, great food. My only complaint is that I had called ahead and told them it was my husband's birthday and they did not recognize the occasion- even after a reminder once I got there.

The noise level in this restaurant was extremely high and disappointing. The service in the bar was slow and sloppy, however the service in the restaurant was impeccable. The food was completely delicious. Great spot for views (bay bridge big and bright) but don't go really hungry. We had tasty appetizers, filet/lobster, all was perfect except for the extreme high price and the amount of food. We left hungry after spending $200 on our bar/dinner experience.

I would have given ambiance 4 stars but there was a real problem with lighting where we were seated. There was no lamp nearby, making it very difficult to see once the sun set. Otherwise, the food was excellent. My guests and I had the filet mignon, pork cheeks, scallops and veal cheeks with two sides and they were all perfectly done. Obviously, it's a great place to see the Bay Bridge lights, which is fun, especially for showing people who are in from out of town.

You're paying for the view. My experience was that Epic was way overpriced for what was delivered. Their menu says that they will meet alternative dietary requirements "with enthusiasm". I can't have dairy. In my dish they basically just eliminated all elements of the dish that had dairy and gave me a partial dish. At the price and their menu commitment, I would expect that they would have elevated the dish and actually replaced the missing elements with something else. I was very disappointed.

Epic has a great location which adds to the overall experience. Pace of service was good and not rushed. Food was very good. There were two mistakes made one is switching of the entree served between two of the guests, the other is error in the bill for a cancelled item that we were charged anyway. View of the Bay Bridge was a plus.

Epic beautifully appointed & gracious service. We probably came in well under the typical average per person here as my sister and I shared some things, and I wasnt too hungry to start with. Our waiter provided classy and attentive service regardless, and we made it up a little with an over 20% tip. Stuffed squash blossom w fig very good; blossoms stuffed with a fabulous corn filling. Scallops (2) also good - some interesting but unidentifiable flavor element was scrumptious. Prime rib excellent, although cant say it tasted any different than House of PR. Side dishes spaetzle and spinach were good, but not remarkable. I would have preferred a spaetzlel w/o cheese. Too full to even think of dessert. Above w/tip approx $145

There were four of us for my son's 36th Birthday. We enjoyed every part of the experience. The weather was perfect for sitting on the indoor/outdoor patio. Our meals were outstanding from appetizers to dessert. The waiter, Dan, could not have been more attentive and responsive. Dan also took his time with us and permitted us to have a lovely dinner and birthday celebration.

Ordered prime rib and it was obviously the end cap of the loin with very tough meat and high fat content. Sent it back cause literally couldn't eat. The next piece looked better but was overlooked for medium (no pink) and was still tough. I just decided to not complain again but manager noticed i didnt eat my $48 piece of meat and said he would not charge me. His very condescending comment was : "have you ever eaten prime rib?" Seriously? I said "yes, that is why this is so disappointing!! " My husband had the filet mignon and although he ate it, it said it wasn't good. After the prime rib comp, we still paid $200! Not worth it at all!

We ordered the $200 "epic dinner for 2", a side dish and a bottle of wine. The food (lobster and ribeye) were cold and we poured our own wine throughout dinner because we never saw our server. The view is nice but we were seated forward the back of the restaurant by the bus station and under the vent even though we had a reservation through Open Table. My husband and I travel frequently for work and are rarely in the same city at the same time during the week. We wanted this to be a special night for us and it was very disappointing. We won't be back and we'll not recommend.

We arrived slightly early but they sat us right away at a beautiful table next to a window over looking the bay bridge. Both the hostess and the manager wished is a happy anniversary. Service was prompt, dinner was fabulous we had steak & lobster for two with mashed potatoes. My husband had a few cocktails and a flight of mead he really enjoyed. Such a gorgeous view, great service, and wonderful food was only slightly dampered by our bill, it is expensive people, but a great special occasion place.

We finally tried Epic Roasthouse & unfortunately the only aspect of our dinner that was "Epic" was the view. The "28 day dry aged" ribeye was chewy and not very flavorful and I found a strip of clear plastic in my spinach (which they gracefully replaced and they comp'ed a glass of wine also). To be fair, my wife's prime rib was tender and flavorful and the Julia Child potatoes (aka potatoes au gratin) was a good dish. However for the over $200 we spent on dinner it was an overall disappointment and I can say without a doubt that we will not return.

We arrived 45 minutes before our 830pm reservation and went upstairs to the bar. They were short staffed at least thats what our cocktail waitress said. I ordered 100 bottle of wine she brought out the wrong one. When she did bring out the right one she poured us one glass and never saw her again. When we arrived at our table it was dark could barely read the menu using my iPhone as light. took 20 minutes to order apps, another 30 to order dinner, another 25 to get a bottle of wine. they did however buy us a dessert for anniversary. Appetizers were way overpriced for quality. steaks were fair but everything we ordered needed salt and or other seasonings. I guess thats why they have 3 salts on the table. will not return.

The food was good, no complaint. But not really blown away. We had a variety of dishes including the Filet, prime rib and duck. The salami appetizer was excellent. The wine was nice, but pricey. The best thing they put on the table was the "event dessert" which was like a creme brulle without the torch accompanied by fresh granita and fruit. I found the most incongruous thing all evening to be the inclusion of a "build your own ice cream sunday" on the dessert menu next to an $1200 bottle if scotch. Kind of strange. Service was amazing. Rembered my food allergy and made a fuss about our companion's first anniversary. It is a beautiful location, especially if you can see the lights on the bridge. Highly recommend it. We'll be back.

For my 5th wedding anniversary we decided to try Epic. The restaurant had a good atmosphere, and got a little loud once the seats started to fill up. The speed of service was really slow our dinner ended up being about three hours. While the food was decent it was nothing to be amazed by. For some one who likes meat, i may recommend them to this place, but with the speed of service would likely steer them in a different direction. So overall i gave this place two out of six stars. The atmosphere and views of the bay are fantastic. The food was just ok, nothing special. The service while very friendly was very slow. The atmosphere and views of the bay were not enough to outweigh the mediocre food and slow service.

My wife and I enjoyed our Dinner to celebrate our 5 year anniversary while visiting S.F. from San Diego. The bar upstairs was vibrant and fun. During dinner our server Rafik was a pleasure and an artist when suggesting food for us. We originally wanted to sit outside but it was chilly and we were sitting very close to a loud large party. Inside was perfect, we had a window seat with a view of the bay and bridge and enjoyed the food. We were also visited by upper management just so they can congratulate us on our anniversary. Would we go to Epric Roasthouse again? YES!

I made reservations for a family dinner while we were in SF to attend a wedding a local friend recommended this 'hot spot' because we wanted a seafood/steak place. We had the best table a big round booth, and a great server. We had our 3 small children and 4 adults - they didn't try to hide us in the back or sit us at a 'bad' table. The service was as good as the view. Food in general was good not great. I had a fabulous fig appetizer but my fish main dish seemed sloppy. My husband and the waygu beef - which was expensive and not that memorable. They had mac and cheese for the children which was great. The drinks were also very good. As a chocolate fiend no desserts really sparked my interest so we passed.

I almost always prefer small restaurants, but decided to give Epic a try. The food was quite good, especially the cornmeal fried oysters. Desserts are a specialty here; they have some, such as pluot galette, you can't easily find elsewhere. Service was very friendly and accommodating. There is a walkway between the restaurant and the water, but still the views are sweeping. If you want an intimate hideaway, this is not the place. But for good food and a great sense of the bay, Epic fills the bill.

Wonderful for a special occasion...or just because you want a delicious meal. I had the prime rib which was perfectly cooked and the cheese spaetzle which was absolutely mouthwatering. But if there's anything here better than the food, it's the service. I had out of town company and requested a table by the window. Even better, they gave us a patio table with an unobstructed view. The hostess is a gem and the rest of the wait staff warm and friendly. Love this place!
