Epic Roasthouse never disappoints. From accommodating our need for a slightly earlier reservation on a busy night to the informative and helpful waiter Jonathan to the special attention from the staff over our son's special send-off-to-college dinner, to the incredibly prepared and presented food, everything was simply perfection.

Our waitress was so inattentive, it takes forever to wave her down when we need something. At one point, she actually removed a wine glass mid-meal instead of pouring more wine. She was very abrupt with answers when we ask questions about the menu. Our table got steak and prime rib, everyone had to add extra salt. The meat was so bland. Too bad the service and food doesn't live up to the lovely view.

Had the oyster, king salmon sashimi and the stake. Although all the food are fresh but I just simply can not think of a worse way to make a salmon. They put fried fish skin on top of, cream which is blend but oily with a lot of light vinegar water which taste like vinegar but without the freshness and the sourness of the venegar. Then inside the venegae water it's diced cucumber. Steak is really good, but being a steak house its kind of a given. Over all I honestly expect more out from here.

The food as usual was great - I branched out and had the bone in NY aged strip steak - HUGE - took most of it home. the one downside was we were seated right next to the door that led to the outside eating area so the rush of cold air every time someone opened that door was very annoying.

Seated on time at a great table. Ordered oysters as an appitizer, a salad and steak as the main course. They immediately brought my salad and delivered my oysters to the table next to us who had just been seated. Apparently that was a table of 6 and the guys were former local jocks. Never did receive the oysters. I did get a comped dessert though. Twice the staff tried to give us someone else's food.

The outdoor seating area gives a great view of the Bay Bridge. However, as the night cools the window shades go down and the view is then not as clear, but still nice and you stay warm. Food was great, service was good, wine list extensive, and sundaes for dessert makes you feel like a kid again.

Sadly, the anticipation of a great meal and a romantic celebration of our 22nd wedding anniversary was a major disappointment. The romantic window request for an 8:30pm reservation resulted in a small cramped seat by the plastic window in the tent. The ambiance was that of a bachelor party as there were a number of large groups banished to the hinterlands with us. Most disappointedly though was our mediocre food. My wife's fillet was so heavily salted that we had to send it back - when the new fillet was provided it was over cooked. Then we requested that the remaining food be bagged up so we could take it home - the bag was lost and never made it to our table. My ribeye was also substandard. In short, a bad dining experience for $300.

Wish we would have stayed up in the bar to start with OR made sure we were actually IN the restaurant…was sat outside & that really takes away from the whole restaurants charm…the atmosphere isn't anywhere near the same..I mean if you like to sit in a tent & look at the water it was ok……Additionally although the food was good…the recommended Duck app was dull and dry…the charcuterie plate was ok..but just meet? no toast tips..no olives or anything to accompany it & it isn't inexpensive…Dinner was lovely however my steak was undercooked ( it was definitely rare to med rare) I asked for Medium.…so there my poor hubby sat…waiting for my filet to be returned…might go back for drinks and a steak at the bar because the view is really beautiful!!

Epic Roasthouse has become our "go to" restaurant when dining in the City. We were spending 3 days in SF after seeing Paul McCartney at Candlestick. Even though we live locally, it is still fun to "get away" in this great place. We were also celebrating our anniversary, which was what our dinner at Epic was about. As always, attentive staff, great food recommendations (the fig Carpaccio with Ricotta stuffed squash blossoms was positively a delight to all senses!), fabulous service, wine list, etc. We sat outdoors on the patio on this beautiful evening. When the fog started bringing in the cooler air, there was a clear divider that was lowered to keep the breeze out, but the view, in. Our server was wonderful on all fronts! Bravo, Epic!

The ambiance & everything is all good but the steak is not as spectacular as I would imagine it. I ordered the ribeye medium well & it was still a little chewy for my taste. This is my personal opinion. Would I go there soon? Maybe not. There are for better tasting steaks but if you're going here for the ambience & view, then you're in the right place.

This is a first class dining house, very reasonable prices a high standard of service. I travel for business globally and dine in the most exclusive restaurants and would consider Epic as one of my best dining experiences. I made a last minute booking at Epic after changing travel plans and didn't expect to be given preferred dining time in any of the better restaurants in our preferred location but Epic did despite being very full. Ordered the soup which was delicate and delicious then the prime rib (baked) cooked to perfection and expertly served. The server was fantastic as we're the supporting staff. Prices are very reasonable for the high standard of service and quality set. This ranks as one my the best dining experiences

Based on on-line reviews, and our out of town guest's preference for meat we selected Epic. The location with a view of City Lights seemed perfect. But the quality of the food and service did not match the price point. We went to the bar early and found the wine list to be excellent, but the service at table was wanting (were the bread plates just table decor, or would bread be served?), the filet mignon was noticeably thin, and some how of two prime rib orders (medium rare) one over cooked and the other not. The quality of the sides was disappointing. The evening was meant to be a splurge celebration of SF foodie culture, and we definitely paid splurge prices, but the food was more appropriate to a chain steakhouse.

Epic Roasthouse is not a quality restaurant for dining. They occupy a very scenic piece of land and have a fairly decent interior, but every aspect of their dining experience is unsatisfactory – especially compared to other San Francisco establishments at this price point. We've had (2) extremely negative visits to Epic Roasthouse. Each with multiple awkward breakdowns in service and food quality (i.e. returned food, poor preparation, neglected table service, etc). If you're looking last-minute, you could get by with a bar seat and a burger. I would strongly advise against a big spend here.

We always love going to the Epic Roasthouse for the best steaks! But this is a restaurant with real chefs, too. And they're always doing something new and innovative on the menu. For dessert they had "design your own ice cream sunday" They give you a paper with circles to check and you choose the ingredients for your sunday. Everything is home made I suppose, the ice cream, the toppings...it's top notch. Of course, all the food is fabulous at Epic Roasthouse. You'll get a magnificent steak for sure, and you'll get a great view of the Bay Bridge. What more could you want in a restaurant?

I really enjoyed Epic, and the view and service was awesome! We ordered the oysters, bone marrow w steak tartare, heirloom tomato salad and lobster bisque as starters for our party of 6. They were all pretty amazing although I didn't get to try the bisque. I ordered the large prime which was massive! It was delicious but slightly tough in the middle. Three of the six in my party had their steaks overcooked (medium rare ended up being very medium) but no one complained because their chimichuri sauce made it better. Corkage was $25 and if possible try to get there early and have a cocktail upstairs while staring at the amazing view of the bridge!

Overall, the dining experience was fantastic and the service was superb: Mom's black cod was by far the best dish and my girlfriend's rack of lamb was delicious. Our only issue was the filet mignon which was ordered by my g/f's sister and I: my g/f tried them both and agreed that my steak was a little bland but her sister's filet was incredible; luck of the draw I guess. We intend to revisit soon and see if I can score a better steak :) Two side notes: 1) this is the best spot to view of the bay bridge light display in its full splendor. 2) order the sundae for dessert: a mini menu and pencil are provided to select icecreams and toppings; you will be blown away.
