We ordered a Ribeye and a NY strip. The first one was cold and the second one undercooked. We called the waiter. He deeply apologized and took the dishes away. He came back five minutes later, and the steaks were still cold and undercooked. The spinach side was not good. French fries were good.

Our evening at epic Roasthouse was fantastic. I commented in my Open Table reservTion that we would be celebrating two birthdays and they wer very accommodating with this even though I didn't expect something. Our food was delicious, many great wine choices and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed our evening immensely.

We, I entertained an out-of-town/country guest, were seated on the patio under a heating lamp. It was fantastic!! The view of the Bay Bridge with it's art installment cannot be beaten. The food is excellent as is the service. My guest loved ever bit of the evening. It was not the first time but will not be the last time either.

This place has the view to die for...if you stick to oysters or burgers or other very simply cooked food and a good drink or wine, plus the outdoor seating, you'll have an amazing time relaxing looking at the bay and the bridge and this inspiring place we live in (SF)! Inside, there are large circular booths for parties of 6 or more with views of the bridge too. Staff is really friendly and helpful.

I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday with taking him here & he was amazed. We were seated right next to the huge windows, and had an amazing view of the bay bridge. My boyfriend ordered the veal cheeks and said it was one of the best dishes he's ever had. I ordered the small prime rib & asked for it to done medium, it was a bit pink in the middle but still amazing! They also acknowledged my boyfriends birthday, they brought us our dessert with Happy Birthdsy written in chocolate and a candle. Overall, it was an EPIC night!

This was my second time coming to Epic and I wil say the evening was just ok. The server was impersonal, fast and reluctant to give suggestions nor did she introduce her self. My food was under cooked and overall unfulfilling. After the first visit I was excited to come back, now, I wil consider other options.

I went to the Waterbar next door several times for the outdoor patio, but found the food OK, the service pretty bad, and the receptionist, male or female, on some kind of egocentric power trip that made you feel unwelcome from the start. One day we got there about 10 minutes early, and they would not let us sit in the patio even without service until 11:30, and dismissed us. I walked over to see the menu of Epic Roadhouse. The menu was very well rounded and appealing. A waiter came up to me and asked if he could help. He sat us right away, was friendly and jovial, took care of us like we were princesses, laughed with us and told a few jokes, and brought out amazingly good food and made our day. Great place! Great Views! GO!!

There isn't a better view in town -- the Bay Bridge sparkles with a wonderful light show. But the food and service were not good --waited ten minutes after our friends' drinks arrived for the surly sommelier to open a split of Prosecco; bluefish was cold; pork arrived ten minutes after filets mignon; delay between courses interminable. Best selection was the butter lettuce salad! Prices are eye-popping, even for a special location. If you want to experience the light show, have a drink at WaterBar next door instead.

The noise level in this restaurant was extremely high and disappointing. The service in the bar was slow and sloppy, however the service in the restaurant was impeccable. The food was completely delicious. Great spot for views (bay bridge big and bright) but don't go really hungry. We had tasty appetizers, filet/lobster, all was perfect except for the extreme high price and the amount of food. We left hungry after spending $200 on our bar/dinner experience.

I would have given ambiance 4 stars but there was a real problem with lighting where we were seated. There was no lamp nearby, making it very difficult to see once the sun set. Otherwise, the food was excellent. My guests and I had the filet mignon, pork cheeks, scallops and veal cheeks with two sides and they were all perfectly done. Obviously, it's a great place to see the Bay Bridge lights, which is fun, especially for showing people who are in from out of town.

You're paying for the view. My experience was that Epic was way overpriced for what was delivered. Their menu says that they will meet alternative dietary requirements "with enthusiasm". I can't have dairy. In my dish they basically just eliminated all elements of the dish that had dairy and gave me a partial dish. At the price and their menu commitment, I would expect that they would have elevated the dish and actually replaced the missing elements with something else. I was very disappointed.

Epic has a great location which adds to the overall experience. Pace of service was good and not rushed. Food was very good. There were two mistakes made one is switching of the entree served between two of the guests, the other is error in the bill for a cancelled item that we were charged anyway. View of the Bay Bridge was a plus.

The restaurant caters to families and seated every family possible close to a couple celebrating their 30th anniversary. The families were loud, intrusive and it was not relaxing. We have dined at Epic many times before and were looking forward to going back, not again, unfortunately. The staff treated us very well and treated us to a lovely dessert honoring our anniversary.

Epic beautifully appointed & gracious service. We probably came in well under the typical average per person here as my sister and I shared some things, and I wasnt too hungry to start with. Our waiter provided classy and attentive service regardless, and we made it up a little with an over 20% tip. Stuffed squash blossom w fig very good; blossoms stuffed with a fabulous corn filling. Scallops (2) also good - some interesting but unidentifiable flavor element was scrumptious. Prime rib excellent, although cant say it tasted any different than House of PR. Side dishes spaetzle and spinach were good, but not remarkable. I would have preferred a spaetzlel w/o cheese. Too full to even think of dessert. Above w/tip approx $145

We took my mother here for her birthday and we were very disappointed. The food was fairly average and the prices were excessive. The hostess was completely unhelpful and lazy. The waitress was good. The sommelier was excellent. Unfortunately, this appears to be the classic case of a restaurant trading on the view and location and not having the food and service to back it up. We won't be returning.

Ordered prime rib and it was obviously the end cap of the loin with very tough meat and high fat content. Sent it back cause literally couldn't eat. The next piece looked better but was overlooked for medium (no pink) and was still tough. I just decided to not complain again but manager noticed i didnt eat my $48 piece of meat and said he would not charge me. His very condescending comment was : "have you ever eaten prime rib?" Seriously? I said "yes, that is why this is so disappointing!! " My husband had the filet mignon and although he ate it, it said it wasn't good. After the prime rib comp, we still paid $200! Not worth it at all!

We ordered the $200 "epic dinner for 2", a side dish and a bottle of wine. The food (lobster and ribeye) were cold and we poured our own wine throughout dinner because we never saw our server. The view is nice but we were seated forward the back of the restaurant by the bus station and under the vent even though we had a reservation through Open Table. My husband and I travel frequently for work and are rarely in the same city at the same time during the week. We wanted this to be a special night for us and it was very disappointing. We won't be back and we'll not recommend.

Service was prompt, dinner was fabulous we had steak & lobster for two with mashed potatoes. My husband had a few cocktails and a flight of mead he really enjoyed. Such a gorgeous view, great service, and wonderful food was only slightly dampered by our bill, it is expensive people, but a great special occasion place.

We finally tried Epic Roasthouse & unfortunately the only aspect of our dinner that was "Epic" was the view. The "28 day dry aged" ribeye was chewy and not very flavorful and I found a strip of clear plastic in my spinach (which they gracefully replaced and they comp'ed a glass of wine also). To be fair, my wife's prime rib was tender and flavorful and the Julia Child potatoes (aka potatoes au gratin) was a good dish. However for the over $200 we spent on dinner it was an overall disappointment and I can say without a doubt that we will not return.
