We ate upstairs because there was an event in the lounge, and then after dinner we went up to the roof for drinks. The drinks were pricy but unique and special. The ambiance was vibrant but cozy, it became a lot more crowded and loud towards the end of our dinner, at the beginning we were one of the only tables there (around 7:15). Feels industrial classic without being too pretentious. Our waiter did a great job on recommendations and how much food to order. My husband ordered the salmon which was AMAZING! I had the scallops which were also excellent. Cocktails were another highlight with a lot of variety and some good mixtures. The only low point was the mac n cheese- I was expecting something more. It was very good but missing something. Epic was so much better than the signature which was horrible. The food was great and the drinks were outstanding. back. My hangar steak was cooked to my instructions; I also did not want the bacon hash that came with, so they substituted with asparagus. They did not frown on our sharing salad and appetizer. We really appreciated the champagne and bread pudding for our birthday celebrations. The personal menus were a sweet touch. The seating arrangements are set out over 3 floors and the muted decor, make the space feel cozy despite the size. The waiter was attentive and really knew his food. The manager took the time to come over to see how we were enjoying our evening.
I had the scallops which were perfectly cooked. Started with the Tuna Tartar, not a lot for the money. Creamy mashed potatoes were what you'd expect. The service was great, the food was so good and the scene was very nice. I love that there is the energetic bar area on the first level and then the main restaurant seating is on the second floor with a bit more quiet atmosphere, perfect for catching up with friends over dinner. I don't know why, but I wasn't expecting the food to be all that good, but it was surprisingly delicious. I had the short ribs which were flavoured and cooked to perfection. The sides were really good too. They also have a nice cocktail list.
One thing I didn't find attractive was the attire of the wait staff. They looked like they could easily pose as spin instructors with the t-shirts and all, but maybe it's a non-issue. I would definitely go back. Three story restaurant is impressive, and the bar on the first floor insulates the dining area from the noisy bar crowd that so often intrudes upon conversation.
