A word from Epazote Kitchen & Cocktails
A new dining experience at the Hilton El Conquistador. Literally translated as "Mexican Tea", Epazote is prominently used in Southwest cuisine to add spicy yet earthy flavor somewhat reminiscent of fennel. Inspired by this flavor and the traditions of the Southwest.

Enjoy Southwestern dishes featuring locally sourced specialties such as Arizona grass feed beef, Southwest mountain trout, Colorado lamb, selected cheeses and Arizona grown produce. Along with your meal, you will enjoy some of the most spectacular views of Pusch Ridge, on the outdoor patio.

Featuring a wide selection of tequilas, locally brewed beers and Arizona Wines. Those looking to sample a taste of the Southwest will be able to select from a bar menu of delectable options ideal for a shared dinner or snack.

Just one minor suggestion--I had the roast pork that was fork tender, perfectly spiced and presented with a wonderful sauce/gravy==BUT the choice to serve jicama cold and citrusy with it just added nothing==any warm vegetable would have enhanced the plate."

Placemats and silverware were brought after our bar drinks arrived having everyone to lift their glasses and adjust the table..."

Asked for a specific drink, the bar tender served a different one because he didn't have the one ordered thinking we would not notice. Nachos were soggy, meat was overcooked. Music too loud. Waiter did not do anything to earn her tip. Will definitely not go back. Their web page looks completely different. It's shame, location and views and beautiful."

  • "Very satisfying Saturday night service, meal and ambiance. Despite a long wait for our entrees, our appetizers kept us quiet. Our party of four sampled different dishes- the roast pork was fabulous as was the swordfish. Our chicken eater got exactly what he wanted; juicy and on the bone. I had a simpler shrimp over arugula- it was fine. Our server was very accommodating- a hard worker. We will return, for sure."

  • "They have great margaritas! We were seated at a table to the left of the bar above the steps which was nearly dark enough to watch a movie from. No offer to move us. We both used our flashlights to read the menu (which I never do). The much touted (website & waitstaff) short rib entrée is very sweet which detracted from the meat. The meat was actually overcooked in my opinion. The natural fat in a short rib which helps create the tenderness in a braise was long gone. I am guessing that it was finished in a microwave based on the speed of arrival at our table. We also had their version of a wedge salad as the other entrée. Puny. Due to the very low light it was also hard to see the julienned cucumbers to find them with the fork. "

  • "We have been to this restaurant several times and the food and service have always been very good. This time our guest had the Sirloin and I had the Iron Steak. The third person had the Bison Berger. The berger was great as always. My steak was over cooked and chewy and the potatoes and other vegetables were so black as to be unrecognizable. The sirloin was the size of a large new red potato and at $28.00 that seemed very over priced. It was also over cooked. Our waiter rushed though everything he did for us and never returned with water or refills. "

  • "My husband and I were staying at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador. We were looking for a restaurant in the area to have dinner since we were going to the Great American Playhouse that evening. We decided to try the Epazote restaurant which was in the hotel. I was exceptionally overjoyed with the menu, our server Elisa and the fantastic food. We had the crab tower as an appetizer - the smoky beef short ribs and the salmon special for the evening. Thanks for an amazing dining experience."

  • "There is no denying the view from resort is spectacular, but everything after that was a couple of notches down. Drinks were a bit slow to arrive and very pricey, especially for the margarita ($12) with very little tequila. The complimentary "chips" were in fact a small basket containing a plain baked (burned) tortilla and two cornmeal muffins. No salsa was served, but it didn't matter because the tortilla was too thin and crumbly to be of any use for dipping. Dinner took 30 minutes to arrive. My wife's chicken enchilada had very little chicken and was nothing special flavor-wise. I had shrimp on skewer. There were six large shrimp, slightly overcooked, drizzled with an enchilada sauce. Overall okay, but not great, especially for the price."

  • "Visited for a romantic anniversary dinner. The setting was very nice; we sat outside and could see stars above the palm trees and excellently landscaped patio area which included vibrant flowers. We started with nachos (best we've ever had) before sharing the trout (decent) and the iron skillet beef (superb!) To finish the evening we had the cheesecake which was decent. The wine list is respectable; we had a bottle of Lost Angel Pinot Noir which we found medium dry and pleasantly sweet but not overly so. Overall we enjoyed the ambiance and the food was spectacular. I recommend if you are in the area to give Epazote a try. Sit outside if you can as the booths are very wide and not very intimate. We also had excellent service."

  • "We decided to try the restaurant for Christmas Eve since I am a vegetarian and have a difficult time finding good selections that are tasty when others in our party eat meat. I had been in this restaurant previously when it was Dos Locos but had not tried it since it changed to Epazote. The server was extremely efficient, polite, and knowledgeable about the selections. The food was well presented and extremely delectable. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff, in general, was very friendly and made you feel at home. I definitely would recommend the restaurant to others."

Although I generally find hotel restaurants to be uninspiring, Epazote has an interesting menu, and the food is well-prepared. Lovely open dining room allows for conversation without shouting, unlike many restaurants."

  • "We decided to give it a try only because it was on the OpenTable list. Normally we do not frequent Hotel Restaurants. The Hilton El Conquistador is a beautiful hotel, spa and golf resort and has always been a good supporter of the Oro Valley community: the staff members are friendly and helpful. But we were a bit disappointed in Epazote. We booked using OpenTable and sat inside. The menu is limited and the wine list too (no Zinfandel or Shiraz). I had the Big Bison Burger which was tasty but not notable. My Wife had the trout which was very good but not served hot enough (her food was warm). Our server was very good and even had the manager adjust the AC which was blasting cold air. So all that said, Just Another Hotel Restaurant."

The only issue was we changed our party size from 4 to 6 people 24 hrs before our arrival on open-table and they had no record of it. It only took 5 minutes to set up for the larger party and everything was great from there."

  • "This restaurant is inside a hotel. We dined on Monday so the restaurant was very quiet but did nit make us feel uncomfortable. There was a 1st birthday celebration for the restaurant with a three course margarita dinner. Three margaritas for three courses, $30, very good deal. Food was very good."

We went on a Wednesday night so the the restaurant wasn't too busy and we were able to sit on the patio with a great view of the resort grounds. The restaurant menu was fairly limited but everything we tried was great! The margaritas that came with each course were also amazing, overall it was a great night!"

  • "The food was only fair at best. My bison burger was a preformed patty with no taste. I am a butcher who knows flavor. So the restaurant needs to become gourmet....especially in its great location. The fries were good, my girlfriends fish was fine, but only served with a Skinless "broiled?" tomato....the place must get better"
