We were hesitant because of the mixed reviews however delighted that we gave them a chance. Our server Barney was professional and kept our glasses full- we never had to request a thing. We were in and out of there in 90 minutes which was perfect for our schedule. The food was incredible- the salmon was perfection, the lobster was the best we've had and the prime rib delicious. Yes, we will be back and are looking forward to it. Enjoy!

For starters, the wine list is incredible and reasonably priced. I had the filet with the best mashed potatoes and spinach I've had. The wife had the stuff chicken which was as good or better. These are creative culinary artists. Desserts were the blueberry pie which was secondary to the ice cream and the chocolate pyramid. Excellent wait staff.

  • Good Food, Very Slow Service

The food here is good, however, its delivery was very, very slow. First of all, it took over 1 hour for our appetizers and then we waited and waited for our entrees to appear. After another hour of waiting, I spoke to the waiter and then the manager who promised that our food was "next". It then took another 15 minutes for them to make "next" happen. Other tables near us had it no better. My advice is to eat something before you come here or bring some snacks with you so that the wait won't drive you crazy with hunger!

This was our first time at Eolus and we will definitely return. It is an intimate, cozy restaurant on Main Street Durango, with awesome dining and outstanding service. Much better than local "hot spots" with cramped tables connected by endless, winding streams of noisy diners and harried wait staff. The food is a bit on the "dear" side, but we weren't disappointed. My hanger steak was spiced and cooked perfectly, and the pan sauce tempted me to lick the plate. I resisted....just barely. My wife had the organic quinoa and vegetables and was also delighted. So is there a downside? Well, sort of. The price dictates this will be a special treat for us rather than a frequent destination.

Excellent food & great service! High priced but worth it, especially for a special occasion. We enjoyed our meal and time there dining on the roof top outdoors (covered, lighted, and heated). Too bad the telephone poles and wires were in front of a great view. The food is some of the best we have ever had at a restaurant. I had the Prime Rib "Two Ways", a great side-by-side comparison, I loved both & the broccolini was superb. My husband had the Grilled Beef Fillet which he enjoyed. Portion size was not too large or too small. Handcrafted ice creams - yum!! A definite must-try!

Our waiter, although nice, was obviously new & either untrained or completely overwhelmed. This was particularly difficult for our group of 7 when multiple people were waiting while others had already been served. It made us wonder if he'd ever been a waiter at all. Secondly, a different server spilled juice from a plate onto my dress & coat. The only follow-up was a dry napkin. I expected that Eolus would offer to pay my dry cleaning bill, which is what I've been offered in the past from other high-end restaurants. I spent $350 that night, & the food was, & always is, worth it, but the service was terrible & embarrassing since l had brought friends for their birthdays that had never been there before.

I really don't like to say anything bad about anybody but this dinner ended up being a real disappointment. I'll keep this simple, the food was great as it had been on previous visits but the service was either too fast or too slow, distracted and almost non-existent at times. Our special occasion was wasted at this restaurant on this night.

We eat at Eolus and before when it was Cosmo as often as we can, one of our favorite places to go. On this night, our server was awesome, however the service was slow, we finally asked about the status of our food when we noticed several tables around us who came in after us enjoying their food.. One of our orders was a crab stuffed chicken breast, which was sent back as there was a trace of crab.. it returned satisfactory. This night will not deter us from returning..

Tuesday night proved to be occupied but not crowded. We had a group of 7 and used it for an informal business meeting. It fit the bill perfectly. The lack of the traditional "family atmosphere" was a very nice change. I would say that this is appropriate for romantic evenings and fine dining connoisseurs. Pricing suggests saving for special occasions.

The reason that we stopped going to the old Cosmo's was due to the poor service. When we tried Eolus several months ago, the food was fantastic as well as the service. However, our last experience was very disappointing. The service was terrible. The restaurant was not that busy for a Sunday night. There was no ice in the water, our primary waiter was busy with another table, and service was poor. At least the food was great.

Our food was excellent - great salads and entrees. I had the filet and it was one of the best I have had. My only concern would be the price -- it is quite expensive. Even without drinks, our bill for 4 adults was around $50 a person. That being said, the portions are very generous. I would go back for a special occasion.
