  • "My children, ages 12 and 14 years old, sneered when they looked at the menu. However, once they tasted their meal, they were very satisfied and asked to visit Eolus on our next visit to Durango! "

  • "This is quickly becoming one of our favorite places in town. I'm hooked on the scallop starter and my husband loves the fillet. I have not be disappointed with any of the entries I've had."

  • "I was hesitant to go to Eolus because I had a "just okay" meal previously. However, the restaurant had been taken over by a new proprietor and I thought I'd give it a try. It was a wonderful meal and a good experience. I had the surf and turf and loved it! My husband had the seafood combo over capellini and he thought it was excellent too. We would definitely go back!"

  • "Eolus consistently delivers the absolute best dining experience in Durango. The menu is fresh and varied, staff is freindly and attentive, the ambience is a quiet fusion of contemporary and vintage Durango and the fare is superb! So, what are you waiting for?"

  • "Based on reviews, we chose this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary. We also had out two small children with us. The food and service were superb. We highly recommend this restaurant. If we are ever back in Durango, we will definitely visit this restaurant again."

  • "Was not kid friendly. Kids steak was $13 which is ridiculous for a kids menu item. Food was ok. Had the beef filet which was not cooked how I ordered it. That was disappointing because it was $37. Limited menu selection. I would just skip this one and spend your money elsewhere. Staff and service was efficient and nice."

  • "Obviously popular amongst the locals for a good reason. We arrived and the place was packed. We were glad we had made reservations. The service was somewhat slow initially, but we attribute that to the amount of people in the restaurant. When it became less congested the drinks came quicker and my water glass was always full. We tried a variety of things- the soup of the day was outstanding. We had a sushi roll special of the day that was to die for and the scallops appetizer was quite nice. The lobster burger was super rich, but excellent and came with a mountain of french fries. We had an excellent meal and if we are in Durango again we would definitely go back for more."

  • "The food is very over priced, it is good but not outstanding. Would be much more busy if the prices were lower. At least give locals a 20% discount."

  • "I had out of town guests and we had an incredible dining experience. The service was outstanding as was the food, wines and dessert. It was the best dining experience I had in a long time."

  • "While we enjoyed our food, the hostess was pretentious and had a bad attitude. We arrived promptly for our 5:30 p.m. reservation and seated at a table located beneath a "wind tunnel". The area was drafty and chilly so we asked to change tables. There was one other occupied table and at least 10 open and unoccupied tables. The hostess was very rude and said she could only move us but we had to "be out of there by 6:50 p.m." as they had a 7 p.m. reservation. Being returning patrons, we knew the dining experience would be wonderful and did not want to feel rushed to leave. We said we would return another time and it was only then that an assistant hostess said she could seat us upstairs in the enclosed patio. The patio was lovely."

  • "Our dinners were perfectly prepared and delicious. Great wine selection and we had a very nice post Valentines day evening. But the BEST part was the hot apple/carmel pie. Outrageously delicious."

  • "Hello, yes we have your reservation follow us to your table. Great, then we didn't see any one for 20 minutes. ordered the 3 course Price Fix and w/ no wine or bread they served us some oysters that we didn't order which was the 1st course of the 5 course price fix. Still no wine or bread waiting patiently. Over all food was pretty good BUT, when it was COSMOS we ate there 3 times before and we called it Soup to Nuts meaning in our world, great in every way. Need to re define how you serve your guests. By the way, it was not that busy. It was Valentines day but our res was at 5:15 Pick it up or we won't be back!"

  • "For the prices the food wasn't that awesome and my partner got the vegetarian option which was $20 and a complete fail, the carrots were completely burnt and the dish might as well have been a salad. I had the lobster burger which was great but who can mess up a burger. Over all it was great to try but wouldn't be on the top of my list when we come back."

  • "And I still dream of those lobster corndogs and flourless chocolate cake. Beautiful restaurant, and beautiful yet simple menu. (Simple menus are the best when everything on there has been perfected and tastes amazingly.)"

  • "Great food, atmosphere, and service. This was our first time back since the name change and new ownership. They are now the best dinner spot in Durango. Really outstanding."

  • "Myself and two coworkers chose this restaurant and were very pleased with the entire experience. In a town loaded with amazing restaurants, this deserves a spot right at the top. Everything was excellent, including personal attention from the owner, James."

  • "We went around 7 on a Sunday and it was super quiet and nice. The space was way better managed than how the previous restaurant had done. The food was remarkable, and the only complaint (if you could call it that) was that my boyfriend's filet was overpowered by the mashed potatoes. However, the seafood stew was delightful. Overall, a very nice spot for a romantic, special occasion dinner, as it is expensive, but the food quality and ambiance are completely worth it."

  • "My wife and I have been to this location since they first opened. Then last summer a tiff arose with management and owners. When the smoke cleared we the locals of Durango were the winners. The new owners are also the chef and front room manager. The food is outstanding. The service was never pushy but spot on."

  • "My husband and I are locals and have been dining at Eolus for quite some time. The food is always fabulous, and we have great service there. This past week, we were seated and ordered cocktails - my husband received a martini that only filled the glass 1/3 full. When we asked for a "full glass" martini, we were told that is now considered a "double pour" and were charged twice as much. This has never happened before, not here or ANY other Durango restaurant - that was our only disappointment. His one drink was over $20, which seemed ridiculous for a gin martini. Other than that issue, the food was fabulous, the wait staff very accomodating, and we had an enjoyable time."

  • "This is our first time at Eolus and we were very pleased with the food and the service. Taylor was our waitress and she was very professional and knowledgeable with the menu selections. We look forward to dining here again soon."

  • "My husband and I needed a night to review 2013 and dream and plan for 2014. We were allowed privacy with very few interruptions. The server was kind, knowledgable and friendly. The food and the drinks were out of this world good. We'll definitely go back...soon!"

  • "Excellent experience. Group tried many items. Lobster corn dogs, seared scallops and sushi for app and each was very good. Main courses were NY strip, Ohno, and pork osso bucco. Each was excellent. Tried the barbaresco and was a very good selection from comprehensive wine list. Service is a very friendly, group effort. Do go."

  • "The food was great but the service had a number of problems. A private note sent to the resteraunt. This is a significant change from the previous ownership and a very disappointing introduction. Food was just as good but no explanation given for the prix fixe courses ( a must for prix fixe and a top tier resteraunt). Also dessert delivered melted or collapsed (soufle)."

  • "What a fantastic dining experience! Wonderful eclectic menu and everything is prepared beautifully. Service was great and the ambiance is very upscale, warm and inviting. There is a downstairs main dining room and bar area and also an open air rooftop bar and dining area that is wonderful in the summer. The wine list is extensive and excellent. Durango has some great restaurants and Eulos is now in my top three. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fine food, a nice dining experience, or just to stop in the bar for a drink and tapas."

  • "Great place and great experiences there while it was Ciosmopolitan. New Years was rushed, no full disclosure on fixed fare dinner and cost when reservation made, ok food, and with our 9:00 reservation felt rushed to leave."

  • "This was our second time to Eolus since the ownership changed. The first time it was excellent and it was good to know that wasn't a fluke. Every thing was prepared with care. One of our party had some dietary concerns and was assured they could be acommodated. Another had the chopped salmon salad and remarked that it was the best salad she had every had in a restaurant. The wine list is a pleasure."

  • "We received the worst service ever here we were completely ignored, our waiter never asked if we wanted another $11 cocktail ( which we did) never refilled our children's water glasses or ours never asked how our meal was etc. The table next to us received excellent service from him, though they were 4 adults drinking a bottle of wine. It could be due to the fact we had are 2 well behaved preteen girls with us who ordered off the children's menu. Osso Bucco was great Duck was fair everything overpriced but we have always being willing to pay the extra for excellent service and ambience but not to be ignored. They really dropped the ball with us and 2 future foodies. We will find a new favorite in Durango."

  • "Our selections were roasted onion soup (best onion soup we have ever had), ono (also excellent) warm beat salad (very good but nothing special), vegetable roll (another excellent), and NY steak (so so). The NY steak was ordered med well but came more on the med rare side. The steak was not as tender as I would have liked and was pr oepared in such a sideeway that it was hard to tell where the rindy side of the steak was located. The wine list had a nice variety and within each grouping was usually one affordable selection before listing more premium wines. Overall, this was a very good place to dine but a little pricey. We'll likely return but only for special occasions."

  • "This was our worst experience ever with service. We had a waitress that we had not had before and perhaps she was new. She doesn't seem to have customer service skills or she was just not feeling well. We had been told by the owner, Chris, that he had extended happy hour specials - 4:30 to 6:30. She was adamant that the specials were only offered until 6P. Perhaps the restaurant changed it's policy but this situation was not handled appropriately in our opinion. She also had problems with the Eolus cards (point system for eating there). She needs training. We would not have her serve us again and we are actually very accommodating and forgiving."
