  • Fabulous Birthday Dinner

My husband took me to Enotria for my birthday. We've been there before, but on this visit threw caution to the wind and opted for the 7 course tasting menu. Wow! Each dish was not only aesthetically beautiful, but the tastes and textures of the foods were extraordinary. We've been pretty adventurous eaters for a long time, and so were delighted to find we were actually trying ingredients new to us. The service was lovely, with enough information provided as would help us recognize and relish the individual ingredients and the dish as a whole. Chef Pajo Bruich is a really creative artist! One caveat: the 7 courses left me feeling pretty stuffed, so I think it'll be only 5 courses for me if we do the tasting menu again!

I loved Enotria before it was remodeled and changed its menu and entire atmosphere. Now it is overpriced, pretentious with small servings from a limited menu. Service was slow and affected and the staff was unaware of at least this patron's tables needs and priorities. And the space is cold, uninviting and especially the old enclosed patio room, barren. I am so disappointed.

My wife and I have admittedly been a bit snobbish about the fine dining scene since moving to Sac from DC, as we often went to some of the highest regarded restaurants in NYC, DC, and Philly. Enotria, without a doubt, is up there with the best from the East Coast. The tongue first course and the scallop main course were two of the best dishes I've had in years. The wine list was great and the sommelier was very good considering his youth - I recommend the wine pairing option. We will be back.

This was our second visit since the new chef arrived at Enotoria. We thoroughly enjoyed the dishes, in particular, the quality and presentation! Their service was excellent too. The only complaint I have is the following: they used too much salt in the dishes. Yes, they boost the "Umami" in their dishes, but reducing salty taste a bit more would raise my food rating to the Excellent category.

Food was interesting and tasty. We were there on the first night of the 3,5 and 7 course dinners and were told everyone at the table had to order one or everyone had to order a la carte. It didn't set well with us and the waiter got permission from the owner for us to order as we wanted. My partner ordered the 3 course dinner and really enjoyed it. My daughter and I ordered a la carte. The food was very good but if you order a la carte be aware the portions are very small and expensive. My only real complaint was the comfort of the bench seats. They were not. I told my dining partners they were less comfortable than the 'coach' airline seats on the airplane I flew cross country last week. Probably won't be returning.

My husband and I both really enjoyed our date at Enotria. We both had the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Each dish was lovely to look at and had excellent flavor, and the wine pairings were very nice. The service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend Enotria if you are looking for a special evening out and want to really enjoy some fine dining. It's a Sacramento gem.

I hadn't been to Enotria for a couple years and was surprised by the elegant food I had during this visit. Delightful cocktails were followed by creative dishes - the scallop and mussels appetizer followed by the gnocchi with black truffles - were truly exceptional. However $75 for the 4 course meal was also unexpectedly high and created some tension in our group. Notable and special food but a bit too rich for my blood. (PS the restaurant will explain it's $75 for a 5 course meal but the 5th course is a palate cleanser of sorbet - really, a teaspoon of sorbet counts as a course?)

If you think you have to drive to Napa or San Francisco for a superior fine dining experience, you need to get into Enotria. Enotria has become our favorite restaurant in Northern California, and our go-to restaurant for celebrations. Executive Chef Pajo Bruich is creating cuisine that you will not find anywhere else. The wine list is both comprehensive and approachable. The Sommelier's depth and breadth of knowledge is astonishing. I highly recommend the five- and seven-course tasting menus with the wine pairings. The dishes are created to complement the wines, and the pairings are simply perfect. By the way, if you let the restaurant know in advance that you are celebrating a special event, they will make it truly special for you.

Why have an upscale restaurant in the heart of Del Paso Heights? The food was good, but not amazing. The smears were decorative, but didn't have much flavor and didn't add to our dining experience. The wait staff was very attentive, but then we were one of only 3 table occupied. This was peak dining time on a Thursday night. The restaurant was responsive to my request for a quiet table (we were celebrating our 5th anniversary,) and they brought a complimentary dessert with Happy Anniversary wishes on it. I hope they find a way to drum up business. I also hope they put a little more effort into the taste of each dish, rather than just the appearance.

Every bite of food was delicious. But it was little more than bites. . We bought the 5 course sampler for $75 per person. It consisted of our selection of one each of 4 items on each of the 4 courses and a gelato palate cleanser. My complaint was the entre where my wife received 1 scallop and I received 3 small pieces of lamb. I would guess that the $37 price on the entrée would be a larger portion if not ordered in the "tasting" menu. But I thought it to be a bit excessive when I was charged an additional $8 fee for the lamb which they list as a supplement charge for an entrée when all I got was a taste. The food was exceptional, but their pricing and portions will keep me from returning

The entire staff worked as a team to make us feel comfortable and pampered. We had an amazing experience in Enotria’s remodeled dining room by enjoying their “taste” menu. Our many thanks to Enotria for making our anniversary celebration a memorable one. P.S. We got to take home a signed commemorative menu that said Happy Anniversary!

The food was marvelous - deep, varied and complex flavors! It compares favorably to other notable restaurants in SF, LA, NYC or the Napa Valley. However, the "value to price" equation is skewed. As a confirmed foodie, I value quality over quantity and don't begrudge paying for a wonderful meal, however, the portions at Enotria are uncommonly stingy: two scallops for $37 is unreasonable. if my husband had joined me for dinner on this occasion, he would have been apoplectic about the cost, and still hungry!

This place is truly special, and must be experienced to really understand. Chef Pajo and his team cook with passion and a purpose. We've been to Enotria a few times for special occasions, and they get better each time. They use the freshest local ingredients to work their magic, and use a combination of traditional flavor profiles and modernist techniques to bring out the best in each dish. This place is not to be missed and, while not cheap, is a true bargain when compared to those few restaurants of similar quality in SF and NY.

We enjoyed our dining experience at Enotria. The patio was nice, the service was outstanding, the live music a lovely plus and the wine and food was delicious. The wine pairing was very delightful with enthusiastic presentations by the sommelier. Although it is not unexpected for a fine restaurant, the tiny portions were disappointing. It felt like the taste buds were being teased rather than fully engaged. I would recommend this for a special occasion but the price for the tiny portions will make it just a once in a life-time experience for us.

Enjoyed our experience at the Enotria Restaurant very much. The last time I was there, was before the major remodel and I am pleasantly suprised with the new room layout and decor. The staff is fast, courteous, energetic and very efficient, with never pushing you to complete a course, just letting you enjoy. We had the five course (with very different choices) with wine parings, and both agreed that the wine parings were not as good as expected. The main courses of: Suzuki and Scallops were very good and of course, the sweet section was excellent. We will return and hopefully enjoy the atmosphere, food and drink the next time around.

Enotria is the best restaurant in Sacramento, and it gives the best Bay Area and Napa serious competition. The artfully presented, perfectly prepared dishes on the tasting menu are simply superb. If you order ala carte, portions are larger and again superb. Our dinner was flawless, everything perfectly prepared and so delicious, it was mind-blowing. The service was impeccable, attentive and personal without being intrusive. The sommelier is one of the most knowledgeable I have encountered and the recommended wines were both delicious and perfectly paired with the dishes. This really is an amazing experience and well worth the expense.

If there is a heaven, the food there would be of Enotria's caliber. I celebrated my 60th birthday at Enotria and ordered the 7-course tasting menu with wine pairings. Every dish was amazingly beautiful and so delicious. This is without a doubt the best dining experience to be had in Sacramento currently. The ambience was quiet and the lighting was perfect. The service was the best it could be (thank you Jen!) and the sommelier gave a succinct description of each wine with a little history of each vintner. The food...the food....so good it is hard to come up with the adjectives to describe it. The food was beyond excellent--every dish was the perfect blend of flavors, texture, and colors. Very limited street parking, but there is convenient valet at the curb for $5. The staff is friendly and attentive. The wine list has plenty to choose from. The dishes are good but on the very smaller side. You can order a la carte, opt for a 5 course, or 7 course meal where you mix and match dishes from the menu. The presentation of the dishes is excellent but at the end of the night, two 5 course meals and one glass of wine, after tax and a 20% tip rang to the tune of about $210. The rib eye my wife had was about the size of her palm. The food was good, but the value was not there. The $31-$50 price rating on Open Table is not a realistic figure unless you plan to follow up with another meal someplace else afterwards.

Service was really very good. Food was good; not great. Very expensive for what you receive. Five course "tasting" menu was $75/person w/ no wine. A few items had up charges. Wouldn't have minded the $8 up charge for the ribeye, if they actually gave you a reasonable piece of steak. This was over cooked and probably < 4 oz. Scallop main course was one single scallop. Other main courses were equally small. Cheese and charcuterie were tasty, but served w/ out bread or crackers (unless you payed $3/person for rolls). Presentation of dishes was excellent; really beautiful food. Desserts were only fair. Just wish portions were a bit larger, prices a bit smaller, and silly up charges eliminated.

This helped us experience the food instead of just wolfing it down. We were hungry when we came and initially were concerned we wouldn't be filled but at the end we were very satisfied and even over filled. We both ageed that the veggies were the best and we are confirmed meat eaters. The protien portions were excellent it we never had such veggies.

"Elf food for really high prices." That's what springs to mind in recalling our visit. We were so put off by the high price of the tasting menu that we decided to make do with a couple of appetizers and a glass of wine. The fries were very tasty. The chef's selection charcuterie and cheese platter was artfully arranged and visually appealing. Even though the individual components on the platter tasted very good, the quantities provided for $30 were ludicrously small. Service was excellent--friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. Perhaps when we're in the mood to spend $300 to $400 on a very special occasion, we might return.

If this were a large city or spa, the quantities and pricing would be more in line but... this is not that location nor is it in a desirable section of Sacramento. While the food was excellent, it is not a destination we will hurry back to, even for a special occasion, nor recommend to our friends. We are surrounded by too many other fine choices.

This is a very special dining experience. We did the tasting menu. This probably was a pricier option so my commments may not apply to other seating. The total bill for the meal with wine pairing and tip was $400. I would have had no reservations for it being $300 but I do feels that is too high. I cannot praise the wine list and the pairings enough. Unique, perfectly paired and superb.. It would be worth just having appetizers and tasting the wine. It is beyond wonderful, The food is also great. It is presented artistically and the service is flawless. So if cost is not a concern by al means go.

We had an amazing dinner at Enotria. The food was outstanding, the service was great! Our server was attentive, knowledgable and spent some time chit chatting with us. One of the chefs brough our dessert out to us himself. I would absolutely go back! Thank you Enotria.

Made a reservation for a birthday dinner. The only acknowledgement of this when the person called to confirm our reservation. When got to the restaurant, no acknowledgement of birthday at all, no free dessert or even a happy birthday from the server. The food is overpriced. 2 slices of ribeye for $45 is ridiculous, at least at Morton's you get the entire steak. Was not impressed and don't plan to come back.

A great gem of a place in an up and coming area of Sacramento. Don't let the neighborhood fool you. Enotria's ambiance, staff and chef's provide outstanding food and service that almost feels personalized. Their sommelier staff (thanks Kara) was informative, polite and engaging. From the attentive staff to the outstanding meal and wine pairings Enotria furnishes the foodie in you a memorable dining experience.
