Enotria RestaurantEnjoyed our experience atEnjoyed our experience at the Enotria Restaurant very much. The last time I was there, was before the major remodel and I am pleasantly suprised with the new room layout and decor. The staff is fast, courteous, energetic and very efficient, with never pushing you to complete a course, just letting you enjoy.
We had the five course (with very different choices) with wine parings, and both agreed that the wine parings were not as good as expected. The main courses of: Suzuki and Scallops were very good and of course, the sweet section was excellent.
We will return and hopefully enjoy the atmosphere, food and drink the next time around.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMHeavenIf there is a heaven, the food there would be of Enotria's caliber. I celebrated my 60th birthday at Enotria and ordered the 7-course tasting menu with wine pairings. Every dish was amazingly beautiful and so delicious. This is without a doubt the best dining experience to be had in Sacramento currently. The ambience was quiet and the lighting was perfect. The service was the best it could be (thank you Jen!) and the sommelier gave a succinct description of each wine with a little history of each vintner. The food...the food....so good it is hard to come up with the adjectives to describe it. The food was beyond excellent--every dish was the perfect blend of flavors, texture, and colors. I will be back to dine here again!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMEnotria is the best restaurantEnotria is the best restaurant in Sacramento, and it gives the best Bay Area and Napa serious competition. The artfully presented, perfectly prepared dishes on the tasting menu are simply superb. If you order ala carte, portions are larger and again superb. Our dinner was flawless, everything perfectly prepared and so delicious, it was mind-blowing. The service was impeccable, attentive and personal without being intrusive. The sommelier is one of the most knowledgeable I have encountered and the recommended wines were both delicious and perfectly paired with the dishes. This really is an amazing experience and well worth the expense.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMEnotria RestaurantOne of the best meals that I have had in the Sacramento area! The overall experience was as noteworthy as some of Michelin restaurants tin the Chicago and DC areas.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMSome diners may not br readySome diners may not br ready for food with that level of sophistication.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAn experienceIf you want to experience great food at a nice pace this is tha place. Each portion is presented separately on its own plate with the appropriate cutlery. This helped us experience the food instead of just wolfing it down. We were hungry when we came and initially were concerned we wouldn't be filled but at the end we were very satisfied and even over filled. We both ageed that the veggies were the best and we are confirmed meat eaters. The protien portions were excellent it we never had such veggies.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect EveningWonderful food, atmosphere, and excellent service. Very creative and beautiful dishes!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingThis is a very special dining experience. We did the tasting menu. This probably was a pricier option so my commments may not apply to other seating. The total bill for the meal with wine pairing and tip was $400. I would have had no reservations for it being $300 but I do feels that is too high.
I cannot praise the wine list and the pairings enough. Unique, perfectly paired and superb.. It would be worth just having appetizers and tasting the wine. It is beyond wonderful,
The food is also great. It is presented artistically and the service is flawless.
So if cost is not a concern by al means go.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an amazing dinner atWe had an amazing dinner at Enotria. The food was outstanding, the service was great!
Our server was attentive, knowledgable and spent some time chit chatting with us.
One of the chefs brough our dessert out to us himself.
I would absolutely go back! Thank you Enotria.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMMichelin Needs to Take NoticeA great gem of a place in an up and coming area of Sacramento. Don't let the neighborhood fool you. Enotria's ambiance, staff and chef's provide outstanding food and service that almost feels personalized. Their sommelier staff (thanks Kara) was informative, polite and engaging. From the attentive staff to the outstanding meal and wine pairings Enotria furnishes the foodie in you a memorable dining experience.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA Culinary MasterpieceThe food was amazing. We were concerned about what we thought were small plates, however, it turned out to be perfect. Small plates of absolutely delectable items leaving you wanting to lick the plate. The service was spot on and they kept things moving, never really leaving the table empty of something wonderful to eat. The little baked breads were each different and each amazing. The bacon bread was to die for...and the butter with the volcanic salt, wonderful. Throughout the meal it was clear that the Chef and his staff thoroughly understand seasoning, it was perfect. My wife and I decided that it was the best meal we had ever had...that sounds dramatic, it is not. We eat our regularly and often...Enotria is special.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best meals thatOne of the best meals that I have had in Sacramento. The flavors were surprising and fresh.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMI could have eaten plattersI could have eaten platters of the oysters. Every bite was perfection. We ordered a variety of dishes t share, and every mouthful was fresh an vibrant and inventive. Portions were small, but so packed with flavor that we didn't mnd. This was a memorable meal.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMEnotria A-La-CarteService was very good and food outstanding. We sampled a number of dishes from the a-la-carte menu in the wine bar; all were delicious and the presentations very creative. Only complaint, portions were incredibly small. Perhaps the portions served in the main dining room on each of the 3 tasting menus are more plentiful. In fairness, as our party of 4 shared everything, this may have contributed to our perception of portion size. Although the area of Sacramento in which the restaurant is located is in the midst of redevelopment, a change in location might be in order, especially given the cost of this dining experience. A venue change would well serve the lofty ambitions of Enotria's ownership.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there with my wife withWent there with my wife with very limited knowledge of the restaurant. Had the four course chefs tasting and everything was exquisite. Can't wait to go back. By far the best meal I've had in sacramento.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful experience allA wonderful experience all the way round! Food wassimply astounding!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic. A real treat forFantastic. A real treat for our Anniversary celebration. Thank you!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI wanted to love EnotriaI guess I don't get the style of food they serve. There is one precious little gem of something - cheese, lamb, pate - surrounded by other little bits of accent foods. And then the plate is dotted with intensely flavored spots of flavor and/or sprinkled with dried bacon or shortbread crumbs or whatever. Are you supposed to mix and scoop the entire plate onto two bites or are you supposed to enjoy the spots and dabs apart from the center of the dish? Everything we ate was good. But a lot of the meal struck me as showy but lacking in passion. That said, there were some real stand-outs: the agnoletti, the sturgeon and a chocolate truffle. Maybe our impressions were influenced by decor we found cold, unromantic and without charm.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSacramento's best restaurant,Sacramento's best restaurant, and perhaps one of the best in Northern California. I have eaten at Michelin starred restaurants, and Enotria is right with them or even ahead of them. The wine pairings with the tasting menu were spot-on. The food was perfectly executed, intriguing, and appropriately spaced between courses. I highly recommend Enotria to anyone looking for the perfect meal in Sacramento.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and wine was outstanding. The food and wine was outstanding. The service was quite good. All in all a memorable experience.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful creations of food-as-art.Wonderful creations of food-as-art. Some may be put off by Enotria's location or the truly small portions (even for fine dining), but the detail in the preparation, the combinations of flavors, and the sauces are remarkable. I had the chef's tasting menu with delicious sturgeon, the best preparation of pork belly I have had, and a great lamb preparation. Others in the group enjoyed the pate and suzuki. Counting the cheese course and mignardises, we essentially also got four fabulous dessert courses. We enjoy The Firehouse and Hawks, but this is truly special food, not just for Sacramento.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food at Enotria is extraordinarThe food at Enotria is extraordinary: Each course offered a variety of flavors and textures, all based around a central item like a ribeye steak or small trumpet mushrooms. While the the presentation was always intriguing and the flavors satisfying, there were a few times when this microgastronomy restaurant tipped over into precious, fussy touches. Absolutely worth the price.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWas not happy to discoverWas not happy to discover that seating policy had changed and that in order to sit in the main dining area you had to pre-select that all members of your party would have the tasting menu. By the time I found this out it was too late to find another reservation. Since this reservation was made for a special occasion I felt somewhat coerced. That said - the food was outstanding. We did have the tasting menu and enjoyed it very much. cocktails were great. Also had one of the wine flights which is always fun. Pace of serving was a bit slow but the quality of the meal was excellent.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMI miss the old days...and EmilyThe prices have more than doubled and the choices are very little. The menu is set with six courses. The first three courses you get to choose between two in each section. The next three are set. We were glad that we ordered a first course of cheese and meats with yummies and bread or we would have left hungry. Our usual bill in the past was about $150 with drinks/not wine. Now the $100 a piece pre-set dinner and a first course came to $340 with a 20+% tip. We did not drink this evening. The food is very good and some of it is outstanding. The servers are great but they were caring for too many tables a piece. The best deal hear is their special dinners and tasting parties.2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time diningThis was our first time dining in the restaurant. The service was outstanding - very professional and attentive without being intrusive. The food was innovative and beautifully presented with great pops of flavor. We shared the charcuterie and cheese plate for one course and it was delicious. We will definitely be back.2/22/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service and attentionExcellent service and attention to detail. I will miss Matthew who was the best sommelier around here. Our server was very knowledgeable about wines though. The chef were able to create a nice off-menu vegan dish. Too bad there isn't a vegan bread here since there are not too many options on the menu for vegans.2/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
