Diner Reviews
  • "Four of us had dinner there recently and had a wonderful meal (and, as I've spent a lot of time in Italy, I'm pretty picky about Italian food). Both the Kale salad and the tuna starters were terrific and the Bucatini all' Amitriciana was as good I've had it in Italy. If you're drinking white, the Ribolla Gialla from Friuli-Venezia was pretty great (but unfortunately not available at the LCBO). Oh and the service was super friendly, so all in all, a super place."

  • "The staff is phenomenal, and really makes the place special. They are helpful and kind, and around the perfect amount. This really sets them apart from other restaurants with the same quality of food (which is fantastic by the way - the arancini is to die for)."

  • "Flawless experience from start to finish. While I knew the food was excellent, the service is equally great. The interior has a chic vibe without pretension. Loved it!"

  • "Took my husband for dinner to celebrate his birthday. I'd been to Enoteca before but it was his first time. Meal was outstanding! Striped shrimp pasta was tasty, tender and flavours outstanding. Enjoyed tuna cerviche and presentation was lovely. Wine list is excellent and service attentive and well paced. Server was knowledgeable and charming. Had a cheese plate for dessert which was perfect to end meal. Excellent range of cheeses to choose from and accompanied by honey, pecans and apple. Atmosphere is casual, and unpretentious but no detail is overlooked. Highly recommend."

  • "We had a fantastic server, she was amazing. We ordered the arancini and they were fabulous but our mains came out a little disappointing. Two of us ordered the ravioli, it was good but the sauce was too salty. Two people from my party ordered the rib-eye steak and the arugula salad was almost inedible because the amount of salt, same with the grilled rapini side. Other then that I loved everything, the atmosphere, service and the appetizers and drinks."

  • "We asked for family service both for food and wine, and were provided with small glasses of different kinds of wonderful wine that they refilled as they were emptied - a tasting treat that we not have gotten from one or two bottles. The same with the food. they asked a few questions about likes and dislikes, and proceeded to bring several different wonderful firsts, one at a time, judging the next by our response to the one prior. Everything was so good that we asked for a second pasta, even though each of us was already full. It came in about 5 minutes - that's how fresh everything is. Than, we sampled one of each dessert. There was no false step anywhere. The decor is imaginative and soothing. Staff are attentive and very knowledgable."

  • "Recently had my favorite meal at Enoteca yet. Friendly & knowledgable staff, they were accommodating for vegans - amazing food, generous portions. We had the radicchio, grapefruit and pistachio salad; kale & faro salad, spaghetti al pomodoro (off menu) with sides of lemon chili rapini, and the sautéed kale & sherry vinegar. Everything was quite lovely, fun wine list, and attentive but not intrusive service. An all around win. We went fairly early and the mood was relaxed and not too noisy, but still vibrant. I hadn't been to Enoteca in about a year, it will now be back "on rotation" for us."

  • "Impeccable execution from the warm greeting to the passionate and knowledgeable server. Carefully selected beer & wine choices paired with the best of refined rustic Italian style cheeses, prepared meats, pastas, and mouth watering breads & flavorful olive oil skillfully perfected and presented."

  • "I have been to Enoteca Sociale once before and in my opinion it is one of the best restaurants in Toronto. If I want to go out for fancy and amazing meal it is on the top of my list. The service is incredible, the staff makes you feel so special and welcome there, the food is incredibly flavorful and different, yet simple and sticking with Italian tradition, and the atmosphere is exactly what I want and expect from such a nice place. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but very comfortable and in the summer time they open up a patio that is beautiful. The price point is a little higher but worth every penny. I highly recommend Enoteca Sociale to anyone."

  • "The Cacia e Pepe (pasta with pepper and sheep's milk cheese) is the best-even better than the one I had in Rome. Good wine list and attentive service. Not much wonder it's hard to get a table-but there always seems to be room around 6 and nobody rushes you out"

  • "Had a lovely dinner here to celebrate a milestone birthday. Service was first rate, with both our waiter and the manager making the evening great. We loved everything we ate and look forward to trying more the next time we return."

  • "A lovely set-up restaurant with the most fragrant, savoury, dishes. The appetizers were delicious and the meat perfectly cooked, but this restaurant really shines in its pastas. Glorious."

  • "We found a table as a last minute reservation in our neighborhood and we had actually been thinking of going there for years. I am very sad we didn't try this place sooner. The food was fantastic, with quality and fresh ingredients but what this place was the service. Our wine and water glasses were never empty and plates were cleared with such swift movements that it took us until the main to realize that we had been constantly visited by several staff members over the course of the meal. The staff is also very proud of what they do which always makes the experience more enjoyable when there is pride in what they do. Will definitely go there again!"

  • "Overall, The foods were pretty good. I had albacore tuna conserva to start with which was light and had very nice combination of flavours. The linguine was good as well, but it was just a pasta and tomato sauce with some shrimps. boring. it's something you can just make it at home. Nice ambience though, and service was friendly and attentive."

  • "This was the first dinner my friend and I had alone, at a "grown-up" restaurant since she had her first of two children four years ago. It was such a special occasion and Enoteca Sociale did not disappoint!! The food, drinks and service were perfect. We shared the Pears and Lonza appetizer, she had a spaghetti dish, and I had the ricotta tortellini. Perfection. We split a bottle of Vanilla Bourbon Porter, since we are beer drinkers, though the wine selection is dizzyingly good. The ambiance was lush and gorgeous. Hopefully it won't take me too long to get her out again! :)"

  • "Good from the beginning to the end. This restaurant pays attention to what it matters: the food. You are welcomed with warm home-made bread and a bottle of olive oil that is hard resist to overindulge. We ordered pasta that was properly cooked al dente. The sauces were vey well balanced and each ingredient shone by itself. We are not big eaters and we didn’t go for the secondo but people with good appetite will need it because portions are small. The dessert and espresso were outstanding. The service is very good and the waiter is always attentive and available. Excellent restaurant without need for bluff."

  • "What total pleasure! Six friends, reunited for the first time since sharing a place in France last fall. Lots to talk about and instead of reading menus and making decisions, our server Tedde, suggested wine (very knowledgeably) and then said, "Why don't you just let us feed you, family-style". Such a relief to put the menus aside and just sit and be fed.....courses arrived perfectly timed. Every bite was beyond delicious and we loved that we were not over-full. Portions were perfect; no waste. It is very rare to find such perfect food in any restaurant. We loved it!"

  • "What a delicious meal. Everything was perfect from the drinks, to the food to the service! Our server, Teddy (I think) was SO NICE!! She was very professional and knowledgeable and made our experience that much better. Really one of the best dining experiences that I have had in a long time, it was really enjoyable, kudos to Enoteca Sociale for getting it right."

  • "We had a great meal with a cheese plate (must get), arancini (also pretty good but go for the cheese plate if you're only having one app), tortellini (our most disappointing dish but still tasty), gnocci (the best gnocci I've ever had, amazing texture) and the braised beef rigatoni (such amazing flavours). We are looking forward to our next visit :-)"

  • "Impeccable technique and wonderful flavours combine for an exceptional dining experience from the team that brought us Pizzeria Libretto. Sensibly, there isn't any piazza on the menu, but the pasta is old-country-good. House made pasta rightly showcased with just the right amount of sauce. Some of the best I've had in Toronto."
