Welcome to our Ristorante!

Our menu is based on classic dishes that we experienced in people"s homes in Italy.
Some are family recipes and others we learned by cooking with friends back home in Roma.

This menu is structured for either a classic or family style "tasting" dining experience, depending on what mood you're in! No matter which way you dine we do encourage you to share and to try each other's dishes.

I hope you enjoy the simple ingredient combinations and taste the spirit of Rome in Chicago. Always remember that if you've had something here before and you don't see it on the menu, just ask. If we can make it for you we will.

The bread enhances everything and the salad (we shared the beets) was outstanding and so refreshing. Now I want to try their sister space in Logan's Square."

  • "My husband and I took some out of town friends here for dinner recently and we were not disappointed! We had been there once before but it was in the winter so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor patio. The ambiance was wonderful...there was a nice crowd but it wasn't packed. Beautiful plants and flowers everywhere with lights hanging above. And the food was amazing! We had some of the bruschetta, the meat and cheese plate, pizza, risotto, lasagna, the fish and two of the desserts. Everything was spectacular! We will definitely be going back soon!"

  • "I love eating great food in a great environment- not too many that have great food and a backyard garden to enjoy in tranquil surroundings. This place has a backyard garden as well as streetside tables in front if you are into people watching. It is at the end of the west stroll of Division- a great eating and entertainment street in the summer! If it is too cold- they even have blankets!!"

  • "The selling point of this restaurant is the outdoor patio in back (they also have some sidewalk seating in front, but the patio is much nicer.) The food also very fresh and authentic Italian. The service, well, as other reviewers have stated, is spotty. Our waiter admitted it was only his second day so he was very unfamiliar with the menu. We went on a weeknight when they were not busy, so the food came out in a timely manner, with the exception of dessert which took an extraordinary amount of time. They did comp the dessert, however."

  • "We were in Chicago visiting our son, and he suggested Enoteca Roma because he had heard good things about the restaurant. Whoever told him, I am so glad he listened! When the cab pulled up to the restaurant, I mentioned to my son that the picture of the patio looked nothing like the patio at the front of the restaurant. The hostess took us to our table and it was like the heavens opened...the patio at the back of the restaurant was incredible! Trees, lights and amazing ambiance! We ordered the Gnocchi which literally melted in our mouths. The Bruschetta flight was incredible as was the Venison Bolognese with homemade pasta! We will definately go back when in Chicago!!"

  • "We went there for dinner this past weekend. We often go to Italian restaurants as they have several vegetarian options, but Enoteca was better than most, especially in the large selection of vegetarian appetizers. The food was well prepared, fresh-tasting, and the pasta cooked perfectly. The only criticism that I would offer is that while the food had clean flavors, it also meant that it had little depth. It lacked the Italian flavoring and the complexity that comes with a sauce that has simmered for a time. This was also true for non-sauce items. Also, the salt level was low, which I suppose is a good thing. On balance, we enjoyed our meal and would definitely return."

  • "I feel ER slipped a bit since our last visit. The polenta was a bit cold. The flavored a bit less vibrant, and service a bit more blasé, and the place a bit less clean. Most of our items were still good, but it used to be great. With plenty of other Italian places to chose from, I don't know if I will be as quick to come back here."

  • "We had friends in town on a Saturday and couldn't find a sitter so went for dinner with our 4 year old and iPad in tow - I was glad I made a reservation as the place was already packed at 6pm! It was loud enough that having a kid there wasn't bothering anyone, but not overwhelmingly loud like some local places can get on Saturday nights. We have loved this place for years and the food was, as usual, simply delicious! Everyone in our group was raving about the tasting menu for $29 pp. Every single dish was delicious and it was plenty of food. We sated ourselves on food and wine and were still pleasantly surprised when the bill came and no one felt like they just got mugged. 5 stars all the way!"

  • "We went to celebrate Valentine's Day, our first date in probably 6 months. We have a baby and rarely get a sitter. We picked ER because we had enjoyed their food before, and even had our son's baby shower there the previous summer. We knew it would be good quality and also not crazy formal or pricey -- but I have never been so rushed in my life. The salad, soup, risotto and desert came at a lightning pace with no time in between. The server was refilling my wine pairings in the same glass as the previous unfinished glass of wine. There was not a beat between courses. The server was wiping down our table while my gloves were still on it and my husband's coat was still on his chair (he had gone to the restroom). It was incredibly rude."

I feel like myself and my date got forgotten about occasionally because our table was tucked in a corner. Apart from that, I recommend giving this place a try!"

The food was ok , but really not elegant--more cost effective, from the restaurant's point of view.There was one dish for each course, which meant that because I don't eat lamb, I got no meat. Veg alternative was ok, but would have been nice to have a choice. Polenta was delicious; the wines not high end but good. Lentil soup - -- more of a lunch special . Creative cookie for dessert. had to ask for coffee . Waite fine but Rush ! Rush! 2d of 3 seatings. There was a lighting problem- the high intensity spot lights strobed once in a while but the staff did little to fix it like turn off the lights! . And I guaranteed rez @ $65pp; charged $75 per person."

  • "Really nice menu with dishes that can be shared family style. Loved the "pick 5 bruchetta", half a pizza was just right (and it was divine), salads were sharable as were the main courses which were served so that we could enjoy one and then the other two. Polenta served on a marble tray was excellent!! Pasta and gnocchi were also fantastic. All was served without being rushed or wishing it would come more quickly. Waiter did a great job. Great wine list also. We wil definitely be back."

  • "Service wasn't great - -sat for quite a while and finally had to ask if a server was assigned to our table -- then we were rushed - courses came very close together -- and then the bill was brought very quickly and rude looks trying to get us to leave. No other table was treated the same way -- sure felt like they didn't want our business. But the food was really good - so torn on whether I would go back."

Being Italian, we were a bit loud. outstanding meat and cheese plate as well as the bruchetta flight. main courses were also good, but a bit heavy on red chilie flAkes. The heat took away flavors of clams in my dish. Coffee delish and wine selection good. Desserts good, but could be better. Great service. Free desert for bday."
