Eno TerraGet out of Princeton...by one blockI always love eating at Eno Terra - it truly is a local restaurant of high quality and we are so happy to have it in Kingston. I love their Princeton restaurants but by the time you find a place to park you NEED that glass of wine! This place is so relaxing with great food now with the same pricing as Princeton without the hassle.

We did a tasting menu with a wine pairing and everything was exquisite. The food was delicious and the wines all paired nicely. The service flowed smoothly and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. They tried to make up for it with a couple of freebies (some excellent appetizers and a decent dessert), but since it was a week night, speedier service would have been better. The portions served are adequate. We wouldn't have gone home hungry even if we only had the main courses. The appetizers (a risotto that we paid for and the freebie cheese, meat and olive board) were very good. We all enjoyed our entrees once we got them, and the freebie dessert was simple but tasty. I have eaten there 5 times. Three of the times the food was very good, once good and once so-so. It is a bit pricey but not out of line for the quality of the food in the area.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AManniversary dinnerWe celebrated our 31st anniversary at Eno Terra and we had a wonderful experience in that we had a special waitress "Susie" who made our experience exceptional! She was happy, clever and very accommodating. When we mentioned that we loved the nuts on the fromage and salumi plate, she brought a whole bowl of them. She was very knowledgeable about the cheeses and meats available and made excellent recommendations. Her attention to detail and our happiness was evident as she even came out to the foyer with a large umbrella to escort us into the parking lot in the pouring rain. Food was earthy and elegantly offered though the risotto and agnolotti were too al dente and not as delicious as they might otherwise have been. I mentioned to our waiter and when I booked the reservation that we were celebrating a special occasion and at the end of dinner we were surprised with a lovely platter of delicious cookies and biscotti with a beautiful "Congratulations!" scripted in chocolate. We had the grilled octopus salad special--amazing! Highly recommended. They should add this to the regular menu. The trout was an especially fine dish and the lamb shank was cooked to perfection--which can be extremely hard to do--not to dry, stringy, or tough--just right.
This restaurant works hard to maintain a high standard. The relaxed atmosphere and good service make this restaurant a place conducive to good conversation--everything else stays out of the way. Water glasses are mysteriously filled when empty, tables cleared, and courses appear. This visit was for Mothers' Day and we brought my 11 and 15-year old boys. Our server, Suzie, was top notch! We were waited on pleasantly and attentively without being hovered over.
All of the dishes were foods we hadn't had before, at least not in the combinations presented. An original menu featuring locally-sourced foods. The brushette with bean spread was loved by all in our family! I didn't find much appealing in terms of vegetarian entrees but made my special meal from three items on the appetizer menu, and was not disappointed. The roasted spring vegetables were heavenly! Everyone enjoyed their food.

The emphasis is on their Vegetarian fare. They purport to grow their own vegetables and they are quite good. The meat seemed to be a second thought. My pork chop was almost 50% fat. I mentioned this to the server and she told me that it was their "normal" pork chop. The server did mention it to the manager who did take it off our bill. The fillet mignon was sliced of a tenderloin roast instead of individual steaks, and the flavor suffered. Coffee on the sunny terrace rounded off an excellent lunch. When one clicks on the (approved) time and date, one gets a note saying that no tables are available for that request. We checked for several days in advance and got the same notice. The server was very in depth about the menu, even explaining in detail the additions to the menu for the day. We were always refilled with water almost instantly after we took a few sips.
